Mt Rundle Sunrise
flickr
Mt Rundle Sunrise by `*⊹ ᑭɧყƖƖıʂ •٭ Via Flickr: This mountain is probably by far the most photographed inside Banff National Park and as you can see it's for a good reason! Being up here for almost a week, I can tell you that it definitely takes quite some hard work and lots of luck to get good photos. We mostly have sunny days, the type with not a single cloud in the sky. There's always some wind, too, making it near impossible to see any reflection in the lakes. That very morning (our 4th inside the park), I was rewarded for the first time with the right amount of clouds, color intensity, and near windlessness. It was so cold (~32F), though, but I was well prepared with a merino wool hat plus my down jacket's hood, 4 layers on top and 2 layers on bottom. However, there's no way to cover my fingers and at times I just couldn't feel them. There was no one around besides me in that section of Vermilion Lake that morning, but further down the road there were quite a few photogs clicking away. One was there throughout the night taking timelapse photos; another one (my new friend) was there until 2am to capture the Milky Way and returned before 5am. My new friend is a gifted and hardworking photog, his dedication is most admirable! (He's not on Flickr but on 1x.com.) It took me over half an hour to shake off the chills in my bones afterward, but looking at the images I captured, I found my "pain (cold) and suffering (lack of sleep)" so worth it. So far we only explored the southern section of Banff National Park. The more we go north, the less cell reception we will get. Currently we are back in Calgary to restock our food suppl. it's a beautiful city 80 miles east of Banff. I'm sorry I can't get to view your photos these days, may you continue to be blessed with good health and company! Thank you for your visit, my dear Flickr friends!

Out Of This World por `*⊹ ᑭɧყƖƖıʂ •٭ Por Flickr: Alien Throne, located in Valley of Dreams, is a hoodoo formed by erosive forces like wind, rain, and flowing water beating away at stacked layers of soft and hard rock. The softer layers wear down relatively quickly, while the harder layers resist for longer, and it ends up with such a unique appearance. Getting to the Valley of Dreams, and thus Alien Throne, is not easy. It’s in a remote wilderness area with no roads, no signs, and no official trails. Google Map failed to take us to the trailhead, as we gave up hope and turned around, we were then lucky to bump into a photographer whom we had met the evening before. He so happened was heading out that way for sunset & sunrise photoshoots. We followed him through some serious bumpy and sandy off-road trails, where a 4x4 and high clearance vehicle was a must. (GPS is not the exact location.) Thank you for your visit, wishing you a happy day ahead! PS: I'm on a month-long road trip, will catch up with you when I have time, energy and a fast internet!😊

Flyover during the day
Chittagong flyover during the day (with a side-by-side comparison of a light trail shot at night).
You may have seen the night shot of the flyover the other day (If you haven’t, please see it here). This is just the same frame from earlier in the day. I think it might be interesting to see both shots side by side. Over the summer, I decided I had reached a plateau in the quality of shots I could expect with my beginner DSLR (Canon EOS Rebel T7i). I messed around with a couple different mirrorless cameras and eventually landed on the Canon EOS R5. After renting one for a weekend, I was pretty well convinced that this was the camera for me.
I think this may have been the shot that sold me, though. I was wandering the paths at Pheasant Branch Conservancy and decided to sit for a moment at the end of the boardwalk leading to the river there. After a few minutes, I spotted something flying low over the river headed right toward me. I got her in frame just as she turned upward to find a perch in a tree on the bank.

[ID: A female Belted Kingfisher flies up and to the left with wings fully outstretched. She's in a sharp turn and looking up to find a perch out of the frame. She has a blue-grey head and wings, with a white body and alternating pattern of white and grey on the underside of her wings. She is clearly identified as female from the bright orange across her breast and orange patches in her wing pits. End ID]
I realized it was a female Belted Kingfisher only after reviewing the ten or so frames from that one burst shot. It wasn't my first time seeing this species, but it is surely my best capture of one to date. I would not have managed to pull focus so quickly or freeze the bird with that level of detail on my previous equipment. Being able to capture photos like this after only a few hours with the camera made it pretty clear that it was the right choice.

Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Camera Review: 8K & 45MP – Best In Market?
If you're on the hunt for a full-frame mirrorless camera that can take your photography game to stellar heights, the Canon EOS R5 is a contender you can't overlook. This camera is a powerhouse, boasting a 45-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor coupled with the formidable DIGIC X image processor. The result? Breathtakingly detailed and high-quality images that capture every nuance.
But the EOS R5 isn't just about spectacular stills. It's a video recording juggernaut, offering 8K DCI cinematic movie capture. This means you're equipped to record ultra-high-definition videos, ensuring you never miss a beat of the action.
Tumblr media
One of the most impressive aspects of the EOS R5 is its autofocus system. Featuring 1,053 auto AF zones and the advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II technology, this camera can seamlessly track fast-moving subjects with unparalleled precision. Whether you're capturing athletes in motion or fleeting wildlife moments, the EOS R5 has you covered. It even includes sophisticated eye, face, and head detection for people and intuitive animal detection for pets and birds, making it a versatile choice for all kinds of photography.
Tumblr media
Additionally, the camera's 5-axis in-body image stabilization is a game-changer, reducing camera shake by up to 8 stops, ensuring crisp, clear images even in challenging conditions. This feature is a boon, particularly when using lenses without optical stabilization.
And let's not forget about connectivity. With dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, transferring and sharing your stunning visuals is as easy as it gets.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, the Canon EOS R5 isn't just a camera; it's a revolution in the realm of photography and videography. With its state-of-the-art features and unmatched capabilities, it's no wonder many consider it the best in the market. Ready to elevate your photographic journey? The EOS R5 might just be the magic wand you need!
