Starting a series of illustrations of Jesus as depicted across North America in the post-post-apocalypse of After the End! Starting wiiiiith:

# CALIFORNIA

In the Imperial Palace of Sacramento, the capital of the Most Righteous Celestial Empire of California, the marble statue of Guru Jesus is not the largest, or fanciest of the Gurus depicted. Yet it is Guru Jesus who receives offerings and prayers to a degree almost unmatched by any other Guru.

Symbolising the Star Sign Scorpio, Guru Jesus teaches us the world is full of dangers and it is only with a steadfast commitment to living a pure life that we can hope to navigate them. It was he who remarked on the power that faith has over those that wish us ill - "In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all."

I'm laying on an empty couch staring at the empty white ceiling above me. I'm watching another episode of your favourite show: Californiacation. The character who resembles you the most, Hank, is currently eating out (of what I'm sure is) the wrong woman. Her moans aren't the same as Karen's. I'm sure of it.

Hah! Low and behold... It was the wrong woman. I was right. "Wrong vagina". You'd know that by the look on my face if you were sitting next to me. By the way, I don't blame you. I understand. Every single portion of the situation. It sucks. But I love you. When I got home, I had this tune in my head. I was pretty sure it was from a song I knew but I've searched and I haven't found a single song with that melody or those lyrics. I guess I just came up with them all on my own. "I've never been more in love". And it's true. I fear that I say that every time I meet a guy who sleeps with me but you actually like me. You tell me you love me but, and here's the catch, ...I actually feel it. I don't just believe it. I feel it. I hope you do too. I know I don't have a lot of money... Actually, I have none. I'm a fuckin' loser. I'm everything I never wanted to be. I've been trying for years. But you make me try harder. I am so madly in love with you. It hurts me to know that you can't be yourself. I don't care what type of clothes you wear. I don't care about your hair. I mean, obviously I care, but I love it when YOU love yourself the most. What makes you happy, makes me happy and as much of an asshole it makes me seem... I can't say that about anyone else. I know how hard it is to be your own person around your parents. Trust me, I know. And I hate knowing that you think that you'll never be able to make it out. Trust me, you will. With or without anybody's help. But just know, you have all the help I can give. And remember, asking for help doesn't mean you failed. It just means that you're not in it alone.

I've never met someone so full of potential. So full of life. Your stupid warm, honey coloured eyes show me you want to be alive. And you will be. You are! You're so young. You gotta cut yourself some slack. It genuinely breaks my heart knowing you feel so harshly about yourself. You should never feel like that. I know that's rich for me to say but you are just... Jesus.....

You are the most beautiful person Ive ever known. Please know... If you ever feel down... Even a little or even a lot... I'm always there. I'll always be there for you. I fucking adore you.

שירים שאת שומעת בריפיט בזמן האחרון ?

אוה, ובכן, עליי להודות שבזמן האחרון (ובכך אני מתכוונת לשבוע-שבועיים-שלושה) האחרונים לא יצא לי להקשיב לשירים שוב ושוב לעיתים קרובות, אולי מפני שהייתי שקועה במחשבות יותר מדי בשביל לשים לב למה אני מקשיבה.לעומת זאת, בזמן הכמעט-אחרון הקשבתי לNerds by Bo Burnham כל כך הרבה עד כדי כך שאני יודעת לשיר אותו בעל פה. אני מאוד אוהבת את הכתיבה של ברנהם בכלל. לפניו היה את Hate me Soon by Yellow Ostrich אם נחזור עוד קצת בזמן לזמן שהוא כבר לא-כל-כך-הזמן-האחרון-אבל-כמעט, הקשבתי לCaliforniacationשל רד הוט צ’ילי פפרס פלפלי צ’ילי אדומים חריפים, לפניו הקשבתי לModern Jesus by Portugal. The Manוגם לBad Habit by The Kooksהתנצלותיי הכנות על כל ירידות השורה האלה, הטקסט המתבלגן עם הימין והשמאל משגע אותי. הטעם שלי במוזיקה כולל בעיקר רוק, (קלאסי, אלטרנטיבי, וגם אינדי) אבל אני מקשיבה לכל דבר מפה ומשם ונהנית להכיר מוזיקה חדשה. אני מקווה שהתשובה שלי סיפקה אותך. תודה רבה ששאלת!
