Super Hornet that fell from the USS Harry S. Truman is removed from the Mediterranean Sea
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 08/08/2022 - 19:31 in Aeronautical Accidents, Military
Merely illustrative photo of a Super Hornet being released from the USS Harry S. Truman.
The U.S. Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet that crashed from the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman last month was recovered from the seabed.
According to the service, the Carrier Air Wing (CVW 1) aircraft was successfully recovered on August 3, less than a month after it was launched and fell into the sea in an unexpected weather on July 8.
As revealed, the fighter was recovered from a depth of approximately 9,500 feet (2,895 meters) by a team from Task Force (CTF) 68, Rescue and Diving Supervisor of the Naval Maritime Systems Command (SUPSALV), Harry S. Truman, Naval Strike Fighter Wing Atlantic and the U.S. Sixth Fleet boarded the multifunctional construction ship (MPV) Everest.
Tumblr media
The Everest MPV. (Photo: Maritime Construction Services)
The aircraft was recovered using a remotely operated vehicle CURV-21 to connect specialized ropes and lifting lines to the aircraft. A lifting hook was attached to the rigging to lift the aircraft to the surface and hoist it on board Everest.
The U.S. Navy regularly employs the CURV-21 (video below) to help recover sunken aircraft, including the record recovery of an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter from a depth of approximately 19,075 feet last year. This helicopter crashed in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the Japanese island of Okinawa in January 2020.
youtube
The aircraft is being delivered to a nearby military facility, where it will be unloaded and transported to the United States, the U.S. Navy said.
"Inherent in Task Force 68 is our ability to adapt to any set of missions - we can quickly mobilize and deploy scalable command, control and communications in order to integrate and provide advanced command and control when and where necessary," said CTF 68 Commodore, Captain Geoffrey Townsend.
This is the second fighter that the U.S. Navy had to recover from the seabed after recovering an F-35C that fell from the USS Carl Vinson while operating in the South China Sea.
Tumblr media
When a British F-35B Joint Strike Fighter crashed in the Mediterranean last year, there was a race to recover this aircraft, as seen above. This was driven largely by concerns that the Russian government could use its own specialized submarine rescue capabilities, which include a fleet of highly specialized ships and submarines, and could then collect confidential details about the stealthjet, recovering all or part of it.

Bought one last hooray of Taylor merch yesterday before I start my “not buying unnecessary things” challenge of January. I always kinda liked the tie dye Eras tank and I got it in a bigger size so I’m hoping it’s not too big. I want it for the gym! And I added the CTF mistletoe ornament bc I just love CTF and always liked the Jade Green Midnights vinyl so I added that (and then added the last one), so I’ll have the full clock of Midnights variants. I think getting all the variants are silly but I figured what the hell. Check it off my Taylor merch card with having a full set of vinyls—plus Midnights is made to be listened to on vinyl. Can’t wait to get it all!!

SITE TIMELINE
It's time for a sneak peek at CTF's site timeline! Below are all of the major events that may have impacted your characters over the last 12 years.
FEBRUARY 2023
In the early morning hours, the power goes out in Chicago. With limited ability to communicate the panic is slow to build, as most assume the blackout is a local issue that will be resolved shortly.
MARCH, 2023
A series of storms and natural disasters begin to occur worldwide. It is now clear that something larger has occurred— something that no one may be able to fix. Chicago sees a sudden and early heatwave like never before.
APRIL, 2023
A small group bands together to form a settlement in the open land where the suburb of Crete, Illinois used to exist. The Garden, as it is named, leans heavily on community participation and respect for nature. As The Garden grows, it is rumored in the greater Chicago area to be a utopia in an otherwise harsh landscape.
JANUARY, 2026
Supplies begin to dwindle in the greater Chicago area. Looking to pool and protect resources, another settlement called Fort Armour forms on the south side of Chicago. It’s led by a military commander who rules with an iron fist, and is heavily armed.
OCTOBER, 2028
Harsh weather patterns and diminishing resources continue to plague survivors, resulting in a stark increase in crime and violence. Those survivors who don’t live in a settlement, (commonly referred to as Wastelanders), frequently attempt to steal resources from established settlements.
DECEMBER, 2030
A harsh cold spell spurs a wave of sickness, and the population numbers dwindle. In a desperate attempt to find a method to communicate with established settlements and trade medications and other necessary resources, a third settlement called Wrigley Post is formed in the heart of downtown Chicago.
SEPTEMBER, 2031
Survivors in the Wrigley Post settlement succeed in finding a radio signal. They begin to put out calls to other settlements and Wastelanders, hoping to make contact. Unfortunately, they are met with static and silence.
FEBRUARY, 2032
Hearing rumors of the radio signal, the council members of The Garden manage to obtain their own working radio. They choose to hide this from the rest of the settlement, as its use is contrary to the settlement’s stated values. It’s only a matter of time before a few community members learn this secret, sparking tensions between those who are aware of the radio’s existence.
APRIL, 2035
Present day.

In addition, there were references to Windows 8 in this build. The build was identical to Windows 7 except for the wallpaper being different - the same one from the Beta and Release Candidate.
Tumblr media
The earliest build of Windows 8 is build 7700, compiled in January 2010. Windows division president Steven Sinofsky demonstrated an early build of the port on prototype devices, while Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced the company's goal for Windows to be "everywhere on every kind of device without compromise." Details also began to surface about a new application framework for Windows 8 codenamed "Jupiter", which would be used to make "immersive" applications using XAML (similarly to Windows Phone and Silverlight) that could be distributed via a new packaging system and a rumored application store. At the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2011, it was announced that the next version of Windows would add support for ARM system-on-chips alongside the existing x86 processors produced by vendors, especially AMD and Intel. Windows 8 development started before Windows 7 had shipped in 2009. In addition, experts reported a Microsoft security vulnerability, CVE- 2019-1162, based on legacy code involving Microsoft CTF and ctfmon (ctfmon.exe), that affects all Windows versions from the older Windows XP version to the most recent Windows 10 versions a patch to correct the flaw is currently available. In August 2019, computer experts reported that the BlueKeep security vulnerability, CVE- 2019-0708, that potentially affects older unpatched Microsoft Windows versions via the program's Remote Desktop Protocol, allowing for the possibility of remote code execution, may now include related flaws, collectively named DejaBlue, affecting newer Windows versions (i.e., Windows 7 and all recent versions). Market share had fallen to 1.06% by October 2020. Support for IE10 on Windows Server 2012 and Windows Embedded 8 Standard ended on January 31, 2020. Windows 8 was ultimately succeeded by Windows 10 in July 2015. Microsoft released Windows 8.1 in October 2013, addressing some aspects of Windows 8 that were criticized by reviewers and early adopters and incorporated additional improvements to various aspects of the operating system. Despite these shortcomings, 60 million Windows 8 licenses were sold through January 2013, a number that included both upgrades and sales to OEMs for new PCs. Although reaction towards its performance improvements, security enhancements, and improved support for touchscreen devices was positive, the new user interface of the operating system was widely criticized for being potentially confusing and difficult to learn, especially when used with a keyboard and mouse instead of a touchscreen. Windows 8 was released to a mixed critical reception. Windows 8 is the first version of Windows to support the ARM architecture, under the Windows RT branding. Additional security features were introduced, such as built-in antivirus software, integration with Microsoft SmartScreen phishing filtering service and support for UEFI Secure Boot on supported devices with UEFI firmware, to prevent malware from infecting the boot process. Windows 8 added support for USB 3.0, Advanced Format hard drives, near field communications, and cloud computing. Many of these features were adoptions from Windows Phone. In particular, these changes included a touch-optimized Windows shell based on Microsoft's "Metro" design language and the Start screen (which displays programs and dynamically updated content on a grid of tiles), a new platform for developing " apps" with an emphasis on touchscreen input, integration with online services (including the ability to synchronize apps and settings between devices), and Windows Store, an online distribution for downloading and purchasing new software, and a new keyboard shortcut for screenshots.
Tumblr media
Windows 8 introduced major changes to the operating system's platform and user interface intended to improve its user experience on tablets, where Windows was now competing with mobile operating systems, including Android and iOS. Windows 8 was made available for download via MSDN and TechNet and available as an upgrade to all Windows 7 users via Windows Update. The product was released to manufacturing on August 1, 2012, and generally to retail on October 26, 2012. Windows 8 is a major release of the Windows NT operating system developed by Microsoft.

Patreon 2022
Start of a new year and a new month, and I have a list of some new Patreons I'll check out. That however got me interested in updating the list of what Patreons my Patreon followers follows. The big change from last time are a lot of games supported, mostly thanks to one supporter that supported about 60 different Patreons in total. I roughly categorized the Patreons into Stories, Art, Hypno, Visual Novel, Interactive Stories, 3D, and Game. I’ve had to rely a lot on what they present themselves as, but hopefully that is of some help. They are sorted by the number of my supporters that are supporting them, but the bottom half is basically just one supporter, so don’t read too much into the order.

U.S. Navy recovers F-35C that fell from the USS Carl Vinson in the South China Sea

The U.S. Navy managed to recover the F-35C that crashed in the South China Sea on January 24 after "colliding" the flight deck of aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson.
Task Force (CTF) 75 of the U.S. 7th Fleet and the Navy Naval Systems Command (NAVSEA) recovered the aircraft on March 2.
The wreckage was recovered from a depth of approximately 4,000 meters by a CTF 75 team and NAVSEA Rescue and Diving Supervisor (SUPSALV) boarded the diving support ship (DSCV) Picasso.
“The task force's experience in fast and scalable command, control and communications, with agile logistics, organic security and explosive ammunition disposal was the most flexible choice for the fleet commander to respond in a timely manner,” said CTF 75 Commander Captain Gareth Healy.
Leaked photo, which was later confirmed by the navy as authentic, of the F-35C after its fall of the USS Carl Vinson in the South China Sea.
Tumblr media
“Ultimately, this deliberate approach resulted in the correct resources performing recovery operations within 37 days of the incident. Given the unique challenges of this problem and the unique technical resources that NAVSEA provided, this was an aggressive and achievable schedule."
The aircraft was recovered using a CURV-21, a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), which attached specialized ropes and lifting lines to the aircraft. The lifting hook of the ship's crane was then lowered to the seabed and connected to the cord, and then lifted the aircraft to the surface and hoisted it aboard Picasso.
The aircraft will be delivered to a nearby military facility to assist in ongoing investigation and evaluated for potential transportation to the United States.
“The recovery effort shows the U.S. Navy's commitment to its assets and a free and open Indo-Pacific,” the U.S. Navy said.
youtube
The F-35C accident occurred during the first deployment of an aircraft carrier with the fifth generation aircraft in its air ward. The pilot safely ejected the aircraft and was recovered by means of an onboard military helicopter. The accident injured even the sailors aboard the aircraft carrier.

PLEASE DO YOUR PART: Send a Christmas Card to The Political Prisoners in Washington DC and Let Them Know They’re Not Forgotten …Here’s How
Matthew 25:36 New King James Version
36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
By Jim Hoft GATEWAY PUNDIT Published December 20, 2021
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/12/please-part-send-christmas-card-political-prisoners-washington-dc-let-know-not-forgotten/
Here is an easy way to spread some Holiday Cheer to the patriots who are being detained indefinitely in Washington DC and abused by their government.
Send a Christmas Card to the Political Prisoners at the DC Gulag.
The US government is going out of its way to hide, disappear and isolate these men in the Washington DC Prison.   These men are being abused and detained without trial – a clear violation of the US Constitution.
Currently, the DC Political Prisoners, who number around 40, are under another isolating lockdown as oppressive government efforts continue to erode their morale.
But we know The Gateway Pundit audience won’t let these men be forgotten.
I am personally asking our readers to take a few minutes this Christmas Week and send a holiday card of support and encouragement to the political prisoners suffering in Washington DC and separated from their families and friends this Christmas.
We are including the address and names of two prisoners in the January 6 Political Prisoner Wing.
They will share these cards with the men and woman in the DC Gulag.
Many of these men thought they would be home by the holidays.  Sadly that is not the case.
Christmas cards addressed to all prisoners can be sent to Jonathan Mellis, Shane Jenkins, or Nathan DeGrave and will be shared by them with the rest of the prisoners.
Prisoner 1:
Nathan DeGrave – 376789

Or Prisoner 2:
Jonathan Mellis – 376907
DOC-DC-CTF

Washington, DC  20003
Or Prisoner 3:
Shane Jenkins – 377186
DOC-DC-CTF
1901 D St. SE
Washington, DC  20003
You can include a card for them to share with their fellow political prisoners.
We wrote about Nathan DeGraves and Jonathan Mellis here at The Gateway Pundit.  Shane Jenkins leads the Bible Study with fellow prisoners.
Please send a card if you have time. And please remember these patriots in your prayers this Christmas season.
This is an easy way to uplift a suffering soul this holiday season. Jesus mentioned the corporal act of mercy specifically when he said, “For I was . . . in prison and you visited me” (Mt 25:35, 36).

U.S. Navy Cruiser Seizes Heroin Worth $2.9M in Arabian Sea Drug Bust
On January 30, the U.S. Navy cruiser USS Philippine Sea intercepted a shipment of more than 275 kilos of suspected heroin from a stateless dhow in the northern Arabian Sea.
After a search, seven bags of suspected narcotics were seized and tested, and were found to contain heroin worth an estimated $2.9 million at wholesale. This seizure - conducted in support of the Combined Maritime Force's Combined Task Force (CTF) 150, marks the seventh CMF drug seizure since last October.
To reduce the risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19, the boarding team took precautionary measures during and after the boarding, including decontamination of all seized contraband.

CTF-150 conducts maritime security operations outside the Persian Gulf to disrupt criminal and terrorist organizations. The international unit is currently commanded by the Royal Canadian Navy, which is leading the task force for its fifth time.
The latest seizure marks a string of sucessful interdictions for U.S. Navy vessels operating under the CMF construct. In early December, the guided-missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson intercepted a shipment of more than 900 kilos of narcotics from a stateless dhow in the Arabian Sea.
French and British forces have also played a significant role. In mid-November, the French frigate Floréal captured 450 kilos of methamphetamine and 365 kilos of heroin during a boarding in the Northern Indian Ocean. Floréal also seized more than $8 million worth of hashish on the Arabian Sea’s "Hash Highway" in early November. In mid-October, the Royal Navy frigate HMS Montrose seized 460 kilos of methamphetamine, setting a new record for the task force.
Narcotics trafficking in the Arabian Sea often serves as a revenue-generating operation for terrorist networks, and it is a top priority for CTF-150.
