Also, whilst catching up on tumblr stuff, I saw the music shuffle game go round again and thought I'd share my terrible taste in music...(put music on shuffle and name the first 10 songs):

1. The Downstream - Ocean Colour Scene (an album track, can't say I've ever consciously listened to this..., my fav OCS song is The Riverboat Song)

2. Setting Sun - Chemical Brothers (not my fave Chemical Brothers song but still epic when you're wasted in a club)

3. Bang Bang You're Dead - Dirty Pretty Things (hello university 👋)

4. Love Will Save The Day - Boyzone (absolutely favourite boyband when I was growing up, this is one of their more recent songs, not bad IMO)

5. Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy - Queen (what more can I say about this, Queen are fucking epic)

6. Oh My God - Kaiser Chiefs (hello university part 2)

7. Shadows Fall - The Coral (again, an album track I can't say I've ever consciously listened to (from the days when I burnt CDs onto my PC), fav Coral song is a toss up between Dreaming Of You and In The Morning)

8. No Diggity - Blackstreet (I added this when I was travelling last year, reminds me of my Trek America travel buddies)

9. Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard (absolutely nothing to do with at least 2 Conan O'Brien videos on YouTube...)

10. Sandstorm - Cast (proper Britpop, wish I was older in the 90s. Their song 'Walkaway' frequently makes me cry)

Dear Equinox Vidder...

Apologies for the delay in putting this up, I hope it hasn’t been too much of a problem!

I love pretty much all aspects of all the fandoms I’ve requested, so I’m sure I’ll be thrilled with whatever you come up with, but here’s some stuff to help if you want a little bit more to go on!

Music:

Really, the most important thing is that the song is the right one for the vid - I have pretty broad musical tastes and there’s not a lot I don’t like, although I’m less keen on the more electronic/dubstep-y side of dance music. I really like folk music, rock, pop, 80s power ballads, female singer-songwriters with their own instruments, some country, musical theatre soundtracks… if you're looking for more to go on, artists I like include Dar Williams, Vienna Teng, Regina Spektor, Ingrid Michaelson, Janelle Monae, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Bonnie Langford, Foxes, CHVRCHES, The Burns Unit, Clannad, Cyndi Lauper, Dolly Parton, Florence + the Machine, Lorde, Karine Polwart, Jim Moray, Toyah, Kate Rusby, Nancy Kerr, Fleetwood Mac, Patrick Wolf, Tracy Chapman, Brandi Carlile, Missy Higgins, Ella Fitzgerald - but honestly I’ll listen to almost anything and if it works for the vid that’ll make me love the song anyway! (And uhh… I know it’s deeply unlikely but I would very much appreciate if you did not use a Ronan Keating song.)

General:

I love vids that make me feel feelings! Character studies, friendship vids, vids about communities and teams, cute vids, sad vids, silly vids, dancey vids, people kicking ass vids… Mainly I just want to feel emotions about the thing in handy-dandy vid form.

As to the individual fandoms, I apologise for not having made any specific character requests, I signed up at the last minute and I was pretty flustered, but here are some thoughts:

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine:

I’d love something about the station as a community, a vid about Chief O'Brien and how hard his life is set to 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton, a vid about Kira, Kasidy, Keiko (and Leeta?) and their relationships with each other and with Bajor (although I realise that’s a tall order because so much is offscreen), anything actually about Bajor and Bajoran culture (including stuff about the Emissary), a Kasidy vid or a Keiko vid. Also, if you're in the mood for an extremely challenging crossover vid, I really ship Sarina Douglas/Seven of Nine, so if you could somehow make a vid about that despite the fact that they never meet and Sarina is only in two episodes, that would stun and delight me!

Star Trek: The Next Generation: I’d really love an ensemble vid about how they all love each other, a shippy Beverly/Deanna or Beverly/Deanna/Will vid, a Tasha vid, or basically anything else at all! This is the show of my heart and I'd be delighted with whatever you want to make. (If you're doing something with the whole cast, I'd appreciate if Pulaski, Tasha, Guinan and Ro could get a look-in!)

Star Trek: Voyager I’d love a B'Elanna character study that doesn’t shy away from the sadness in her story but is ultimately uplifting and hopeful, or a vid about B'Elanna and Seven gradually coming to like and respect each other, or a Kes character study! Or a vid about Voyager as a community, maybe something about the Starfleet/Maquis divide and how that slowly dissolves - the show didn’t do an amazing job of portraying this, and I’d love to see a vid put a little more emphasis on it. (See also my DS9 request about crossovers!)

Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman

I love Mike and I love her interactions with the other women around her! I'd love a vid about the community - whether something positive or something about the times Mike clashes with the other folks in town - or about the women and their relationships to each other, or a friendship vid of Mike and ANY of the other women in town, or a vid about Mike teaching and mentoring Colleen... or a character study for any of the women...

Whose Line Is It Anyway? (UK)

I'd love absolutely anything that captures the fun of this show! If you want a bit more to go on, some of my favourite performers are Josie Lawrence, Sandi Toksvig, Caroline Quentin, Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie and Mike McShane.

The Animals of Farthing Wood

This series was such a huge part of my childhood, and I'd love anything about it. I'd prefer something more focused on the original journey, before they reach White Deer Park, although I don't mind if the later seasons feature too. I love all the characters, but if it's helpful some of my faves are Vixen, Mole and Badger, Owl, Kestrel and Whistler.

Whisper of the Heart

This is such a beautiful film and I'd love anything that captures its spirit! If you want more to go on, I'd love something about creativity, craft, persistence and following your dreams!
