as an autistic/autistic-coded characters he is ofc subject to Pure Sunshine Syndrome UwU so most of my unpopular opinions are just canon facts lmao. he's very smart and a capable leader, charisma is just his dump stat
also i know someone wrote a meta post explaining this way better but Laios is just so angry. the post was mostly about how in most media the character who is autistic misreads the social situation is always in the wrong. the character must always realize they've committed a horrible social taboo and eventually apologize to everyone for their bad behavior. but Dugeon Meshi lets Laios be angry. like yeah!! why didn't ppl just explain things to him?? he gets mad when other ppl pretend to get along w him but actually dislike him and are waiting for him to get a clue. so yeah, Laios is a chill guy but underneath that he is just so angry at the world all the time. he's pissed off ppl treat him like a freak for acting sincerely, he's pissed off ppl treat his sister like a freak for her natural talents, and Kabru is super valid and right for assuming that Laios hates humanity bc he kinda does a lil (tho not to the extent that Kabru thought ofc)
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

In My San Diego Garden and Kitchen
With several rain events and cool temperatures recently, the mesclun lettuce is superb. But I’ll give the credit to the weather and good breeding (Monet’s Garden Mesclun from Renee’s Garden). This mesclun mix is equal parts of some of my favorites: Little Gem, Dutch Redina, Rouge Grenobloise, Red Salad Bowl and Tango.
Here it is growing next to ‘Pomegranate Crunch.’
On the other side of the mesclun ‘Violetta’ pac choi provides stunning contrast. I harvested most of this plant for a friend who favors it more than I. Truth be told, I may have planted it for its texture and color. I’m confessing to a similar motive in past seasons for purple kohlrabi.
I harvested the first head of ‘Premium Crop’ broccoli with five more on the way. This weighed about 1.25 pounds, smaller than most years but it was exceedingly tender.
Cool temperatures at night cause the navel oranges to sweeten and so we begin to make juice.
We gather a few tangerines for lunch and snacks most days. They store best on the tree and soon we’ll pick more to share.

The Snap Dollar Challenge

For chicken pot pie:
Mix veggies(2): $1.16
Chicken breast: $3.80
Cream of Chicken: $0.50
Cream of potato: $0.50
Pie crust (2): $3.48
Total: $16.95
But I did kind of cheat. I already had some ingredients that I ate with meals.
Factoring in those costs:
Simple oatmeal: $1.22
Cheese: $0.51
Peanut butter: $1.82
Jelly: $1.55
Apples (2): $1.00
Grand Total Spent (so far): $23.05
Recipe for Chicken Pot Pie:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. If using 2 crusts, prepare first crust into pie plate
Stir in salt and pepper until blended. Stir in cream of chicken, cream of potato into mixing bowl
Stir in the boiled chicken and mixed vegetables. Top with crust; seal edge and flute. Cut slits in several places in top crust.
Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until crust is golden brown. During last 15 to 20 minutes of baking, cover crust edge with strips of foil to prevent excessive browning.
Let sit for 20 minutes before serving.
So for starters, I live on campus. This assignment has been very challenging for me, as I’m sure it has been for the rest of the class. I have never personally meal prepped for a whole week in a college setting, paid such close attention to the cost of goods. Nor, have I ever spent so much time in Walmart to only leave with 10 items or less. Yes, I live on a budget but I never truly compared prices of products so closely before.
Once I bought my ingredients, I headed over to my friend’s apartment due to my lack of a kitchen, and began cooking my meals for the next week. This took roughly two to three hours to do so. I did get distracted and was socializing with a friend but it really opened my eyes to those who live off snap dollars. It takes a vast amount of time to go to the grocery store, meal plan, buy ingredients, and then prepare them. Many whole receive snap dollars work full-time jobs and I can only imagine the amount of exhaustion they face.
