Ideas for Black!Reader Fic

I am going to try my hand again at writing. And I wanted to share some people and fandoms that I love. If you don’t know these shows/actors/franchises/movies/streamers I’m putting you on! For the following:

Johnny Depp- All his characters

Cameron Monaghan- I know that there are fics out there but it’s only always his Jerome/Jeremiah roles never just him or Cal Kestis

Anthony Carrigan- I loved Anothy as Victor Zsasz

Paul Dano- There are Riddler fics but not as many for his other roles

The Entire Cast of Hawaii Five-0 (2010) - Don’t even get me started on how good this show is! And the cast looks amazing!

Chicago Med/Fire/PD- These shows have so much potential for fanfic storylines!

The Game (2006)- Has great potential for slow burns and fluffs.

Star Wars franchise (1977-present) - I know I said Cal Kestis but there are also other characters like Anakin, Luke, Obi Wan,Boba Fett (etc.)

NCIS franchise- I honestly love this franchise and it’s characters!

“Alex Winter and I would have two-bass jams when we made Bill & Ted – I won’t say there wasn’t any weed involved…” Keanu Reeves recalls his Wyld bass duels with his excellent co-star

Bill & Ted may have been guitar shredders, but Reeves and Winter are bassists in real life. And their off-set jams sounded like a lot of fun

With the return of his long-dormant alt-rock outfit Dogstar last year, Hollywood legend Keanu Reeves reminded the world that he’s more than just one of the most famous action heroes on the planet; he’s a bass player, too.

In a world-exclusive interview, Bass Player sat down with the John Wick actor to talk everything bass: what drew him to the instrument in the first place, the evolution of his rig and his all-star jams.

One highlight of our conversation centered around (of course) Bill & Ted. But while its stars – played by Alex Winter and Reeves, respectively – are known for their hair-metal guitar antics onscreen with Wyld Stallyns, off-camera the pair played bass. And they played it together – inspired by each others’ licks and, er, other things...

“Alex and I would have bass jams,” Reeves laughs. “It would be like two-bass jams. And that was wacky, good fun.

“Someone would start a central riff, and the other person would move around whatever that riff was… At the time, I won’t say that there wasn’t any weed involved!”

Naturally, the duo needed to distinguish from each other tonally during their low-end wigouts. And Reeves had just the thing.

“And then I might throw in maybe some distortion,” he recalls. “Once in a while when I played by myself, I would put the old distortion pedal through it.

“The jam space at my house in the ’90s had a Marshall amp, and sometimes I played the bass through the Marshall head and played with the distortion there, which I thought was cool.”

Sadly, he also revealed that making William ‘Bill’ S. Preston Esq. and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan bass players in the movies was never on the cards – although the series’ own bass hero, Death, would later showcase his own low-end skills in 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.

One of a number of Hollywood actors who are also bass players, Reeves recently partnered with Fender for a short film called Don’t Quit Your Day Dream, during which he described the purchase of his first bass as “like a bass drug deal”. That video has now received almost two-million views in two months.

Why You Should Check Out Joy Ride (2001)

Well, hey guys! This isn’t my normal thing to write but I was easily convinced by the amazing people in the Freddy/Slasher discord I’m in, and I got someone else into Rusty Nail, too. I figured it was the LEAST I could do since I’ve been super into these films the past while now, if you couldn’t tell.

**I will happily make a post as to why you should watch Joy Ride 2 Dead Ahead, my personal favorite, in a separate post here!

Joy Ride (2001) is a horror thriller film that stars the late Paul Walker as Lewis Thomas, Steve Zahn as Fuller Thomas, and Leelee Sobieski as Venna Wilcox, Lewis’s childhood crush.

While traveling from California to Colorado to pick up his childhood friend and crush, Venna, Lewis is guilt-tripped into making a stop in Salt Lake City on the way after he learns his estranged older brother Fuller has been arrested yet again. Lewis bails him out and Fuller tags along for the trip. At a gas station, Fuller has a CB radio installed in Lewis' car as ‘an olive branch’ and the two begin listening in on truckers' chatter. Fuller coaxes Lewis into playing a prank on a truck driver that goes by the CB handle Rusty Nail, telling him to pretend to be a woman named Candy Cane.

Now you can SEE where this is going to get rough, this poor guy is just minding his own business and getting catfished by bored brothers on a road trip, which makes you feel bad that this trucker was pulled into this situation in the first place. It’s a slow build and really pulls you in with the voice of Rusty Nail, who is voiced by Ted Levine, who also plays Buffalo Bill from ‘Silence of the Lambs’ which was a nice touch because his voice is iconic and really draws you in. His actual body actor is Matthew Kimbrough.

It’s intense and really keeps you on the edge of your seat as you get sucked into the story of these guys really making Rusty look like an absolute fool, and how he’s going to deal with it.

So, they set up a meeting with Rusty Nail in a motel where Lewis and Fuller are spending the night; they tell Rusty Nail that Candy Cane will be in room 17, the room of an asshole of a businessman with whom Fuller had an unpleasant encounter at the check in desk, and the brothers listen from room 18. When Rusty Nail arrives, an argument and sounds of a scuffle are briefly heard.

The next morning, Lewis and Fuller learn that the police found the businessman on the highway, with his lower jaw ripped off. Lewis admits they were involved and Sheriff Ritter accosts them for their role in the incident, but lets them go. Back on the road, Rusty Nail is heard again on the CB radio looking for Candy Cane. Lewis reveals to him that he is Candy Cane and they were just having a laugh, so Rusty demands an apology, but Fuller just blatantly insults him instead. Rusty Nail then notes they should get their taillight fixed, indicating he is following behind them.

Already this demonstrates the realistic fear of pissing off the wrong people with the right connections, and you can already feel the unease you get when you’re driving too close to a semi, what if that was amped up ten fold when you’re target by a semi driver who’s been wronged and made to look like a joke. You wouldn’t wanna be driving on that highway anymore.

Rusty Nail then shows up in his truck and, as he slowly crushes Lewis's car against a tree, Fuller hysterically apologizes. Rusty Nail drives away, declaring his actions to be simply a joke.

“Funny, I was just messing with YOU.”

Believing themselves safe, the brothers arrive at the University of Colorado and pick up Venna. They stop at a motel and, as Lewis falls asleep, Rusty Nail calls his room, revealing he has noticed Venna has joined them.

It has some fun misdirection, which if you’re an avid horror movie fan, you can pick up on early on, but it’s still a super fun film to watch either on your own or with friends. It’s got some funny lines said by the main characters and our beloved driver, Rusty.

It’s really fun to add to the mystery since you never see the driver’s identity until the last ten minutes of the movie, and even then they tried their best to cover his features with shadows and lighting. I love the way they went with this and it adds so much to the viewing like it could be anyone in any truck! You never know!

The first one is on Hulu right now, but otherwise, you can buy/ rent them on YouTube if all else fails. It is 100% worth it!

I don’t wanna give too much away, all I can say is you should definitely watch it for yourself and see how you like it!

It’s one of those early 2000′s films that did well enough but a lot of people hadn’t picked up on, but it’s criminally underrated and a super fun time!

The articles attached discuss varying views about how to best combat Portland Oregon’s homeless problem. The article put out by koin news talks about the recent inactment of a bill put forward by Ted wheeler that will ban homeless camps on the streets of Portland. He further states that this will be followed by the implementation of 5 or six new homeless shelters where individuals will have access to clean water, toilets, showers, food and social services. The problem is, each camp will only house 100-125 people. That is only a fraction of the individuals experiencing homlessness right now with numbers as high as 7,0000 people. Though this is a great start, this is only the begging of further issues arising. Our jails are overwhelmed and y derstaffed, yet police are now able to arrest anyone camping in the streets unwilling to move leading individuals down a worse path than they were already on. The biggest question is, where does Ted wheeler expect all of these people to go? This is not a lasting and efficient approach as my next article written by Mingus maps points out. These authors take a more ethical and thought out approach beginning with addressing the lack of mental health, drug addiction and disability resources. Many of the individuals on the streets suffer from one of those 3 conditions. This can make getting off the street much harder as Portland and Oregon in general has very little programs and resources for these individuals to seek such care free of charge. Another point this article brings up is co trolling the costs of housing, as inflation takes over minimum wage is no longer a living wage as a person cannot afford even a 400sq ft studio costing upwards of $1300. This is resulting in I dividuals loosing there homes or being unable to pay rent, leaving them no option but to move to the streets. The article suggests we create better low income housing with realistic wait times (current wait time is 5 years) so people can avoid homelessness or even move off the streets into such housing. These two articles take completely different approaches, and u fortunately the lesser of the two is actually being implemented. Ted wheeler has placed a big bandaid over a growing issue further supporting the ongoing crisis while being negligent in his decision making process, educational understanding of the problem, and how he is choosing to go about fixing this problem.

Huge details have been revealed recently about the new Bill & Ted Movie, titled “Bill and Ted Face the Music“. Previously, only small details have come slowly as the cast wants to keep the project secret, but some amazing news has been divulged and that is of a huge addition being placed to the already star studded cast, it’s none other than the Man on the Moon – Kid Cudi. Scott Mescudi, or Kid Cudi as many know him as, has made his Hollywood insertion into one of the most acclaimed movie series, the infamous Bill & Ted Trilogy.

This movie comes as the third in the series, being a sequel to two prior Bill & Ted films that have reached a cult like status. Directed by Dean Parisot (pictured below) & written by the great Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson both of whom had written the previous movies as well as created the characters of Bill & Ted. Details on the story so far are a bit scarce but we have source that confirm features by some prominent celebrities, that are making their way to the silver screen in assistance of Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. So far plot wise we’ve only heard that the new story has William “Bill” S. preston Esq. and Theodore “Ted” Logan coming to terms of dealing with middle age life and learning to face their destiny. The destiny to be Rock & Roll legends, creating a song that will hopefully save the world from an impending doom, or maybe just a horrible all consuming boredom, regardless time is ticking for the heroes. A visitor from the distant future arrives to warn the duo and shenanigans then ensue, tagging along behind them this time around are Bill and Ted’s daughters, played by Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine.

Where Kid Cudi comes into the film, an his actual role within it, is up to large amounts of speculation, but since the movie seems to be musically related its guessed by some that he might tag along as well for some of the adventures in the movie. We at Band-It have obtained some exclusive Footage that was captured by several actors who were in attendance of the Bill & Ted movie filming and have claimed that the musician will be performing a few of his cherished songs on stage for the opening scene of the movie and for a few different scenes throughout the film. We hope that we get to see Mr. Rager in all his glory ripping it up on stage and living his best life, which looks to be the case from the pictures that have sent to us.
