Penny L. Chapman ist Autorin der beliebten Unfolding Reihe. Pretend, ihr Debütroman, erschien im Dezember 2016 und wurde zum Auftakt einer erfolgreichen Serie, bestehend aus vier Büchern.
Im September 2018 erschien mit Nightfall der erste Band der Confined Reihe.
Sie ist für ihre vielschichtigen Charaktere bekannt und liebt es, bei Regenwetter und Kerzenschein zu schreiben.
Außerdem ist sie verrückt nach Herbst, Halloween, Musik und Schaumbädern und würde am liebsten in einer Holzhütte in Maines Wäldern leben. Penny L. Chapman schreibt Romane, die in keine Schublade passen. Ihre Protagonisten haben Ecken und Kanten und sind für sie viel mehr als nur fiktive Personen. Sie liebt schwierige Liebesgeschichten, die meist auch ernste Themen enthalten.
Über ihre Bücher sagt sie, dass der Leser auf alles gefasst sein muss.
Wenn sie nicht gerade schreibt, kuschelt sie mit ihrem Hund, singt lauthals zu Frank Sinatra Songs oder Metal mit und umarmt Bäume. Außerdem steht sie in engen Kontakt zu ihren Lesern, die in ihrer Facebook Gruppe Chapman's Hell regelmäßig mit Einblicken in neue Geschichten und lustigen Umfragen gestalkt werden.
Auch in Zukunft wird Penny ihrem Genre - New Adult / Dark Romance - treu bleiben. Aber da sie schreibt, worauf sie gerade Lust hat, können sich auch Leser, die leichtere Themen bevorzugen, auf neue Geschichten freuen.

Nachdem wir in Nightfall, Band 1 der Confined Reihe, Arian kennengelernt haben, geht’s in diesem Teil nun um Dario und Aubrey.
Wir lernen Dario mit Rückblenden aus seiner Kindheit kennen. Eine Kindheit, welche brutal, voller Schmerzen, Demütigung und Hass durch den Vater geprägt wurde. Diese Kindheit macht ihn nun zu diesen eiskalten Typen, welcher er jetzt ist.
Aubrey hingegen ist die Unschuld vom Lande und möchte das unbedingt ändern. Sie möchte nicht mehr behütet und beschützt durch den Vater werden. Sie möchte unanständig sein, um sich zu rächen.
Puh, ja was soll ich sagen, ich habe einiges erwartet, aber das ganze war mir dann doch etwas zu krass. Dazu muss ich sagen ich habe die erste Ausgabe des zweiten Bandes gelesen. Da dieser etwas überarbeitet wurde, erschien es unter Broken Saint neu.
Aubrey habe ich nicht verstanden. Sie fühlte sich so zu Dario hingezogen, dass sie seine ganzen Taten einfach übersah. Er übertrat Grenzen ohne Ende und für sie war das nix. Da konnte ich nur mit dem Kopf schütteln und wurde wütend während des Lesens.
Wie gesagt ich habe einiges erwartet aber so dann doch nicht. Dark Romance hat nun einmal explizite Szenen und kann auch mal gewaltvoll sein. Aber das war mir einfach doch zu viel. Leider.
Da ich allerdings dennoch den nächsten aus er Clique kennen lernen möchte, werde ich Band 3 ebenfalls noch lesen und mich überraschen wohin mich dieses Buch führen wird.
Der Schreibstil war gut zu lesen. Flüssig und interessant. Auch wenn mir einige Szenen nicht so gefielen, war das Buch selbst spannend und ich wollte natürlich auch wissen, warum Aubrey das tat, was sie immer wieder tat. Vielleicht liegt mir diese Reihe aber auch einfach nicht.
Wenn ihr auf Dark Romance steht und es für euch auch etwas mehr als brutal sein darf, dann ist dieses Buch bzw. die Reihe auch etwas für euch.

30 days song challenge
Gaberasa udah 30 hari aja ikutan challenge ini! Seruuu yah jadi nostalgia sama lagu2nya sambil mikir yg match sama temanya hihi.. Challenge terakhir nih!
Wah apa aja yah bingung. Banyak soalnya.. Terbukti kan penyuka lagu lama jadi playlistnya ya lagu2 dulu berarti ngga pernah cape/bosen dengerinnya dong hehehe
Gapernah bosen sih dengerin warning sign mah! Lagi ngga galau juga rasanya pengen on repeat terus sambil nyanyi lalu tiba2 sedih, wkwk yagajugasich
Cuma satu2nya lagu melody's echo chamber yg gapernah bosen dengerinnya. Eh emg cuma tau satu lagu aja sih dr band ini haha. Luvvvv sekali!

Album Dunia Batas mah ngga ada yg gagal smua tracklistnya. Walupun beberapa lagu nyomot dari album pertama yg self titled. Lagu Menuju Senja ini sipaling gapernah bosen dengerinnya.
Payung teduh! Tau band ini dari acara Radio Show Tvone. Ih dulu mah ada acara bagus gitu ya, band2 indie dikasih acara di tv lokal manggung live trus ada interviewnya jg. Langsung jadi acara fav, kalogasalah circa 2012 deh lupa. Burger kill, Gugun blues Shelter, Dialog Dini Hari, The Sigit ah msh bnyk lg bnyk bgt.. Tapi sayang acaranya sebentar ngga bertahan lama, krn Tvone fokusnya sama berita aja keknya. Pas liat Payung Teduh, ih apanih meni syahdu lagu2nya haa.. Yg self titled itu ada Amy, Kita Adalah Sisa-Sis Keikhlasan Yang tak Diikhlaskan, Cerita Tentang Gunung dan Laut. Yg kojonya sih Resah yaa sampe masuk di album Dunia batas jg. Tapi yg paling candu menurutku sih yaa Menuju Senja! Nonton Live mreka wkt Is belom keluar, disuruh duduk sama Is menikmatinya sambil sing along~

Prediksi gue di tahun 2024 yang ternyata menjadi kenyataan:
1. Bring Me The Horizon (BMTH) bakal dapat nominasi Brit Awards dan menang. Ternyata setelah diumumkan betul mereka dapat 1 nominasi best rock/alternative band, saingan sama band2 legendaris kayak Blur dan Rolling Stones. Pakai jalur vote lewat hashtag #BritsvoteBMTH melalui komentar di Instagram. Semenjak gue lihat komentar di postingan nominasi best rock/alternative band, mostly yg komen kebanyakan milih BMTH. Gue rasa mereka bakalan menang. Naah pas di acara berlangsung di O2 london. Ternyata, pas ada nominasi best rock/alternative band, yang menang pasti BMTH. Finally, band favorit gw dapat.
2. Cody Rhodes bakal menang dapat undisputed champion lawan Roman Reigns di Wrestlemania 40. Tahun lalu, sempat membuat penonton mengecewakan karena Cody kalah lawan Roman. Setelah Cody menang 2 kali royal rumble. Akhirnya terpilih lawan Roman Reigns di wrestlemania mendatang. Roman sudah lebih dari 4 tahun gak kalah2 plus menang ada kecurangan sama saudaranya, The Usos, dan Solo Sikoa. Gue yakin di wrestlemania 40 kecurangannya berakhir epik kalau udah bukan lagi The Usos dan Solo. Pasti ada backupnya Cody. Jujur gue nervous, ini merupakan momen terakhir yang harus diselesaikan oleh Cody untuk melawan Roman. Dan finally, Cody menang. Bangga gue asli.
3. Lanjutan dari WWE, Damien Priest akan cash in money in the bank untuk mendapatkan heavyweight champion setelah kalah dapat tag team champion di wrestlemania. Ternyata kebetulan, dia cash in Drew Mcintyre setelah menang lawan Seth Rollins di hari kedua. Makanya pas Damian muncul ternyata beneran cash in jadi berhasil menang.
Prediksi nanti untuk kedepannya :
1. Travis Kelce dan Taylor Swift bakal menikah entah di tahun ini atau depan. Karena mereka kelihatan serasi banget. Plus ditambah lagi mereka sama2 famous, kaya miliader. Mereka akan ikut ke jenjang serius.
2. BMTH tahun ini bakalan manggung di ancol sejak batal 2 show November 2023 karena masalah teknis dan keamanan. Berharap di tahun ini bakalan lebih seru dan gak mengecewakan bagi fans dan tak mengulangi kejadian pas November lalu.
3. Gue sendiri pengen nonton konser All Time Low tanggal 30 April di Tennis Indoor Senayan yang kedua kali. Padahal ini lho pertama kali gw nonton band di tempat venue yg sama sejak gue SMP kelas 9. Ini bakalan 14 tahunnya gw nonton konser All Time Low. Semoga terkabul 🙏

Elizabeth Lim wuchs in der Nähe von San Francisco auf und kam schon früh mit Märchen, Mythen und Liedern in Berührung. Nach ihrem Studium an der Juilliard School und am Harvard College arbeitete sie zunächst als Komponistin für Filme und Computerspiele, bevor sie mit dem Schreiben begann. Seither stürmen ihre atmosphärischen Fantasy-Romane die Bestsellerlisten. Heute lebt sie mit ihrem Mann und ihrer Tochter in New York.

Nachdem ihr nun die Rezension zu Band 1 erhalten habt, folgt jetzt der zweite Teil der Dilogie.
Ehrlich gesagt, konnte mich das Buch nicht so sehr in den Bann ziehen, wie der erste Teil. Dennoch gab es hier eine interessante Fortsetzung.
Bestand Band 1 aus dem Wettkampf und Maia ihrer Leidenschaft bzw. Traum als Schneiderin, so geht’s in Band 2 eher um den Fluch und einer neuen Aufgabe.
Nachdem Maia in Band 1 ihr Können gezeigt hatte, musste sie dafür ja einen hohen Preis zahlen. Der Dämon Bandur hat Besitz über sie ergriffen und Maia möchte sich am liebsten ihrem Schicksal hingeben. Doch stimmt es wirklich das Maia den Fluch und damit Bandur loswird? Und wie steht es dabei um ihre Beziehung zu Edan?
Das solltet ihr selbst lesen, denn den Ausgang des Buches möchte ich euch an dieser Stelle nicht verraten.
Der Schreibstil der Autorin Elizabeth Lim war auch hier flüssig und leicht zu lesen. Dennoch fiel es mir schwer in die Geschichte anfangs vollkommen einzutauchen. Vermutlich lag es daran, dass der Kampf um Maia ihren Traum hier in den Hintergrund rückte.
Dennoch wurden die Protagonisten wieder recht authentisch dargestellt. Nicht immer waren für mich die Entscheidungen von Maia direkt nachvollziehbar, aber mit dem weiteren lesen konnte man sie dann verstehen.
Im letzten Drittel des Buches fieberte man richtig mit Maia mit, denn Bandur hatte fast vollständig Besitz von ihr genommen. Wie würde ihr Kampf ausgehen, eine Frage, die ich mir während des Lesens stellte.
Ein Buch mit Schwächen gegenüber Band 1, dennoch ein würdiger Abschluss der Dilogie. Sofern ihr Band 1 gelesen habt, dann solltet ihr auch dieses Buch lesen um weiter Maia und ihre Geschichte zu verfolgen.

Mungkin kita semua bisa lebih aware terhadap band2 nuansa gelap namun di dalamnya terdapat subjek2 yg habitus kesehariannya bersikap kripto-fasis (fasis terselubung).
Agar kita tdk sekedar menyukai bahkan turut menyebarkan objek2 lagu nya, melainkan juga melihat sikap keseharian subjek2 yg ada di dalam band2 tersebut, apakah di dalamnya ada subjek2 yg kesehariannya bersikap kripto-fasis atau tdk.
Tapi, apakah ini harus?, tentu saja kita bebas memilih; menyamakan barikade dgn kripto-fasis/tdk.

Seen "One Day" on Netflix yet?
Pas series ini muncul aku ngga lsg nonton. Malah ngejer dulu si queen of tears kan, karena si avatar aja belom kelar ini nobar sama suami, lg bnyk kerjaan bgt trus keburu ngantukan wae, akunya sih wkwk. Selagi nunggu on going si queen aku lsg tancap nonton one day, ini series yg diadaptasi dari film dulu ada ini yg main anna hathaway sama jim sturgess.. Visualnya pasangan ini beuuhh fav aku keduanya teeh.. Tp aku lupa pernah nonton ngga yah duh! Itu thn 2011. Nyari di netflix ngga ada filmnya ah mesti jalur harom inimah.
Terdiri dari 14 ep, 1 ep nya 30 menitan kurleb. Tiap 1 ep ganti tahun dimulai dari tahun 1988 sampe 2000an keatas deh. Udah kuduga sih yaa series ini bakalan nyesek kan, filmnya jg sama katanya.. Yaudasi kita nikmati aja perih perih ini vrohhhh :(
Karena ini series dr enggres sontreknya jg britpopan getoo. Yg aku denger dari 14 eps itu ada cocteau twins, cranberries - dream, blur - popscene dan to the end, suede - wild ones dan trash, radiohead, stone roses, the verve - sonnet. Asik beud di kupingku karena musiknya seleraku haha.. Segitu aja yg familiarnya dari sekian banyak band2 britpop.
Sepanjang cerita dibikin "ngga bersatu" terus mayan greget ini gustiiii kpn jadinya weeyy. Pada akhirnya jadi daaaaaann ah sudahlah sad ending geusssss bete wehhhh pdhl udah tau bakalan begitu ceritanya.
Curhad lah ke suami sebelom bobo alias pillowtalk nya nyeritain series yg kutonton yg pdhl mah bisa aja bareng suamiku nontonnya hemm. Kami biasa bertukar cerita kalo nonton film/seriesnya masing2.. Krn kdg kita jg punya selera masing2 dong yaa hehehe.
Masih kebanyang nyeseknya, baru namatin kemarin. Dikebut da penasaran.. Haaa mana nanti si queen if tears keknya memasuki fase makjang2nya lg, cinta2an unyu2annya udin dulu yaa logikanya aja judulnya ada tears2nya menurut ngana gmn?? Ihhh sebel auk aahhh. Sabtu minggu msh lama jg sih hemmm
