Jack nods, but without a smile. With hesitance. With fear. With a number of other things he's never been taught to identify proper what with Nephilum being what they are. And with his conception having involved Lucifer...

Every moment that Jack stays here, not finding out about himself, gives them leverage either to hold it against him... or use it against him. He has less paranoid thoughts, though. More human ones. Ones that want to cash in on that faith thing humans hold god so highly for. He stands there stiffly and oddly, like he doesn't know where to go or what to do now that he's here. He can barely even meet Sam's eyes, does so like a wounded animal.

Maybe it wouldn't hurt to have a little bit of faith in each other instead. After all, Jack is a man because his mother knew he couldn't survive this world as an infant. His mother also knew who to place her faith in: Jack, himself. Bet it all on Jack, huh?

... He knows he's about to lose everyone and everything, but one thought continues to ring true at the back of his head. That is was worth it, whatever life this was, and he was just glad to have known them.
