Chepauk Super Gillies are set to take on Siechem Madurai Panthers on Monday, 26 June 2023, at SCF Cricket Ground in the 18th match of TNPL 2023.

In their current campaign, the Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG) have emerged victorious in two out of the five matches they have played thus far. However, they suffered three consecutive defeats, which derailed their momentum. The Super Gillies are eager to regain their winning ways and climb back up the standings. The Chepauk Super Gillies currently hold the fourth spot in the tournament. The side enters this contest with an 8-wicket loss against Nellai Royal Kings. They must pull their socks up and do well in this game to improve their position on the points table.

Mais, si vous pouvez surmonter le babillage rituel auquel il culmine, ce n'est pas l'un de ces films d'horreur prévisibles et rebattus qui cherchent simplement à nous choquer de nos sièges. Le scénario, écrit par l'équipe d'écriture mari-femme de Saravanan et Kaavya Ramkumar, alterne entre le sombre et le cauchemar. L'impact de la gamme de sentiments que le film suscite est considérablement accru par la puissance discrète et constante de la performance principale de Nayanthara. Elle brille de mille feux dans un drame dystopique qui prospère dans le noir. Elle utilise ses yeux et ses expressions faciales plutôt que des cris et des cris pour exprimer la peur et l'appréhension alors que l'inconnu se glisse sur la femme triée et imperturbable qu'elle joue. Au milieu de toutes ces blablas, le film reste fermement concentré sur la relation mère-fille. Le lien affectif entre les deux femmes est bouleversé par une possession démoniaque. Le script emploie le trouble comme métaphore d'un virus déchaîné et dévastateur. Le lien entre les deux est verbalisé par l'exorciste lui-même. Avec ses bruits sourds, ses coups persistants à la porte, ses grondements mystérieux, ses rideaux flottants, ses lumières vacillantes, ses ombres sinistres dans l'obscurité, ses objets renversés, les œuvres, les 99 minutes Relier mise sur tous les dispositifs auxquels on pourrait s'attendre dans un film d'horreur. Pourtant, il parvient à rompre à des moments cruciaux avec les pratiques habituellement associées à l'entreprise effrayante de colporter la peur et d'aggraver les angoisses. Relierqui réunit le réalisateur Saravanan avec l'acteur principal Nayanthara après le drame psychologique néo-noir de 2015 Maya, examine les dimensions de la perte et du chagrin à travers un phénomène occulte qui déclenche une chaîne d'événements inquiétants pour une femme en quarantaine, Susan, et son jeune musicien- fille, Anne. La pandémie et le verrouillage ont fait des ravages sur les deux. Mais la nature de l'impact sur les deux n'est pas la même. La mère, pour commencer, semble complètement imperturbable par la crise qui la frappe - et le monde en général. La fille, gravement affligée, entre dans une coquille, un acte qui la rend vulnérable à une invasion satanique. En parlant d'invasion, la possession d'un humain par le diable s'apparente en Relier à une invasion de domicile par une force hostile d'un autre monde. La maladie est un démon, et vice-versa, et elle pousse Anna dans un abîme d'où seul un exorciste peut la sauver. Les deux femmes sont dans des pièces séparées, mais les changements subis par Anna ont des répercussions non seulement dans toute la maison dans laquelle elles s'isolent du monde et l'une de l'autre, mais aussi dans les espaces qu'Arthur (Sathyaraj), le père de Susan, et un pasteur- exorciste (Anupam Kher) occupe. Relier est la troisième entreprise de réalisation de Saravanan. Il s'est imposé comme un cinéaste de genre avec un style distinct et novateur marqué par une vive empathie pour les femmes qui combattent les forces nuisibles.

Dans Maya, une mère célibataire qui travaille dans des films publicitaires pour joindre les deux bouts est hantée par un fantôme. Dans Jeu terminé (2019), mettant en vedette Taapsee Pannu, l'héroïne est une talentueuse développeuse de jeux aux prises avec le SSPT, conséquence directe d'un horrible viol. Dans Relier, Saravanan dépeint deux femmes - l'une professionnelle à mi-carrière en position d'autorité, l'autre une jeune fille douée impatiente de faire carrière en tant que musicienne. La hâte juvénile de cette dernière à se diversifier crée des frictions entre elle et sa mère, qui est fermement convaincue que la fille doit terminer ses études avant de quitter la maison pour poursuivre son rêve. Saravanan, avec l'aide du directeur de la photographie Manikantan Krishnamachary, engage des visuels, un jeu d'ombre et de lumière, des angles et des mouvements de caméra biaisés et des effets sonores pour évoquer une atmosphère de grand malaise et d'effroi. Les premières scènes du film, joyeuses et remplies de chaleur pendant les vacances en famille à Goa, cèdent rapidement la place à des allusions aux dangers à venir. La pandémie et le confinement qu'elle nécessite éloignent le père adoré d'Anna, le Dr Joseph Benoy (Vinay Rai), de la famille car l'hôpital a besoin de lui pour être de garde 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7. Les personnages à partir de maintenant sont incapables d'établir un contact physique les uns avec les autres. Ils conversent sur les appels Zoom. Les restrictions sur les interactions physiques conduisent inévitablement à une distanciation et une désorientation énervantes. Le médecin ne peut communiquer avec sa femme et son enfant que par des moyens numériques. Anna, la plus jeune, est la plus touchée par la soudaine séparation forcée. Susan et Anna sont suspectées d'être positives au Covid. En attendant leurs rapports de test, ils s'isolent dans la maison tout en restant en contact avec le grand-père de la fille. Susan et son père commencent bientôt à sentir que quelque chose ne va vraiment pas avec Anna. Ils cherchent de l'aide en son nom. La performance stellaire de Nayanthara est admirablement soutenue par Sathyaraj et Anupam Kher. La nouvelle venue Haniya Nafisa, interprétée dans le rôle difficile d'une fille possédée, n'est pas moins impressionnante. Lorsque la confrontation entre le dévot et le diabolique atteint son paroxysme, le ton du film s'amplifie considérablement. Relier ne risque cependant jamais de se noyer dans la stridente car à tout autre moment, le réalisateur ne déroge pas à ses méthodes maîtrisées et feutrées pour raconter une histoire qui vacille entre le réel et le spectral. Relier se connecte avec le public de manière substantielle sans avoir à recourir au genre de moyens en face que les films d'horreur imposent généralement au public.
