my favourite type of ace attorney breakdown is the one where a character who doesn’t normally smile/doesn’t smile in a genuine way for an entire case finally does it in that “it’s finally over” sort of way. like it just hits so different

or alternatively the character who’s normally super upbeat finally breaking down and admitting they’re not okay/finally acting serious and letting you see the moment sink in with them

Is Simon Blackquill rich?? Like, they wrongfully kept him on death row for 7 freakin years, then it was revealed that due to negligence in the investigation, he was wrongfully convicted. Did the courts just shrug and go “Sorry, I guess?” and the ordeal was solved??

I don’t think so

In this situation he could and probably would sue them for a bunch of money, so he’s probably loaded as heck, right?? Idk, just a thought. It’s just funny to headcanon him as super duper rich.

Just noticed something very cool about Blackquill's theme. In it, you can hear a bell, like a funeral bell ringing.

For whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee (Simon Blackquill)

It's just a really neat subtle way to show that Blackquill's days are numbered, and that it is almost time for his death to come.

Thinking about the changes I would of made to duel destinies/spirit of justice/making a new game again and thought of another cool one - what if they separated out the investigation period with all the characters for the final case more.

So hear me out:

Instead of just moving through the locations, you also switched the character you were playing too. For example you could have the groups in different countries or even just different crimes scenes. It would give a chance for more internal dialogue for the leads and more fun character growth and there's enough characters that in theory each can have a lawyer and a sidekick and hell give them a detective/prosecutor too.

For logistical reasons you could make everyone still have the same info by in Canon saying they're all sharing information via idk a group chat lol. It would make the investigation longer but I think switching between characters would make it not feel as tedious so it may work out?

Possible pairing ideas:

Have them separated by their classic grouping (Apollo/Ema/Trucy , Phoenix/Maya/Edgeworth and/or gumshoe, Athena/Simon/ ig either pearl or juni)

Mix and match (Have newer and older put together ie Athena/Maya/Ema, Apollo/Gumshoe/Pearl, Pheonix/Trucy/Edgeworth etc, that one doesn't quite work but like weird miss matches)

Do it based on who realistically would be where- have edgeworth/gumshoe/athena in Europe or something, Pheonix/Trucy/Klavier or Simon at the WAA and apollo/Ema/nayuta in kurain.

Would it be hard to pull of and potentially get annoying, i guess so, would it also be cool? Yes. Could even have like a phone to jump between the groups or something so it was more obvious who you would be playing each time
