Trust God In All Your Circumstances
Tumblr media
How much do you trust God? If a faith meter existed, how high on the scale would you rate? Do you rely on Him for only small things? Or can you put your trust in God for greater things? The Apostle Paul didn’t have a bashful bone in his body when it came to asking for prayer. Neither should we be timid when asking others to agree with us in prayer. Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you. 2 Thessalonians 3:1 Free eBook Paul wrote both letters to the Thessalonian Church during his second missionary journey. Through his first missionary journey, he made a couple of significant observations. - Many people accepted his message, resulting in him planting churches in various cities. - Many people opposed his message, resulting in hardships and persecution. The apostle’s second prayer request came because of his second observation. Wicked and evil people often opposed his mission of spreading the gospel. Pray, too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer. 2 Thessalonians 3:2 Paul understood persecution and opposition because he served as the main persecutor of the early church. He felt threatened because of how the church affected his Jewish culture. Therefore, he imprisoned as many Jews who converted to Christianity as he could. Yet, because of his persecution, he experienced God’s power in his life. As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?” Acts 9:3-4 Each time he faced opposition, he may have recollected how God stopped his persecution of the church. So, he had no problem asking those he ministered to for continual prayer.
Tumblr media
Paul Relied on the Power of Prayer
Through prayer, he knew how much God could move and intervene in his ministry. He also pointed out the benefits his prayer partners would receive when they prayed. But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 Upon establishing each church, Paul spent quality time teaching the new converts about Jesus and His kingdom. He often commended them because of their trust in God. And we are confident in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we commanded you. 2 Thessalonians 3:4 The apostle requested the members of the Thessalonian Church to pray for the effectiveness of his ministry. He also commended them on their spiritual growth. And then, he prayed for them. May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ. 2 Thessalonians 3:5
Tumblr media
We Can Trust God In All Our Circumstances
Even though Paul directed this letter to a specific church, like his other letters, it also applies to us. Therefore, I see two things we can take away from this short portion of scripture. When praying for others, we focus upward toward heaven. We send our requests straight to the throne room of God. As we trust God, our faith grows, and we draw closer to the Lord. The other takeaway points to the Lord’s faithfulness. Because of His faithfulness He will give us strength and guard us from the evil one. Thus, we can trust God in all of our circumstances. I began this article with two questions. How much do you trust God, and if a faith meter existed, how would you rate? Fortunately, we have more than these five verses to encourage our faith. Many Christians feel they shouldn’t have to experience difficulties or face fear. That type of disillusionment, though, will hinder them from trusting God. When we face difficulties or fears, we can trust God to help us get through them. In fact, Isaiah said that God will strengthen us no matter what we go through. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10 The Lord doesn’t send problems our way like some people believe. But He knows we will cross paths with them. When we run into a problem, even a self-inflicted one, we can still trust God.
Tumblr media
Trust God, He's Your Strength
According to the Psalmist, when we trust God, He will help us and fill our hearts with joy. The Psalms also encourage us to trust the Lord all the time. - The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. Psalm 28:7 - my people, trust in him at all times, pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8 Before you read the verse below from Proverbs, answer this question. Can you put your thoughts aside and trust God to show you which path to take? Solomon instructed us to do exactly that. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6 As a US Missionary to the widowed, my wife travels quite a bit. Her ministry often takes her to different states. Let me tell you about one of her recent experiences. On one of her travel days, her phone had malfunctioned, making it unusable. It caused her to postpone her trip. Because, among other things, she depended upon that device for the GPS. We don’t know why the Lord delayed her trip by one day. In fact, we don’t try to figure God out, but we always try to trust Him. During that day, the following verse came to both of our minds. The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Psalm 37:23
Can You Trust the Lord?
When God directs your steps to go a different way than you planned, can you trust Him? Or will you try to take a detour? Lord, thank you for your faithfulness in giving us strength and guarding us against the evil one. Help us to continually trust you God, as you direct our steps. From the beginning God has chosen you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and through belief in truth. God called you to this through the gospel, so that you might obtain the glory of our Savior Jesus. May Savior and God our father who has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word. Pray!!! Pray that the Savior's message may spread rapidly and be honored just as it was with you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not all have faith. But our savior is faithful he will strengthen and guard you from the evil one. May our savior direct our hearts to God's love and our Saviors endurance. Do not eat of another's bread free of charge instead labor, toil and work for it so that you may not be found to be a burden to anyone. It is not that you don't have the right to be supported but do go out so that you to can make yourselves an example to others to imitate. Do not grow weary in doing good. May our Savior of peace give us peace always in every way. May he be with us in every way.

Without Investigating
“Now the Israelites settled in Egypt in the region of Goshen…” Genesis 47:27NIV
“Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that darkness may spread over the land of Egypt—a palpable darkness. …total darkness covered all the land of Egypt for three days. No one could see anyone else, and for three days no one left his place. Yet all the Israelites had light in their dwellings.” Exodus 10:21-23BSB
Have you ever been in a cavern, when the tour guide shuts off the light momentarily? The darkness can be felt. We stand in sin’s darkness equal to the darkness of a cavern. People are so lost in this darkness, they have nothing pointing to the way out.
Many of the people lost in this darkness are believers in Christ who have succumbed to a lie and lost their way— “…for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness” 2Thessalonians 2:11-12KJV. They chose to believe lies rather than the truth of the gospel. That single choice cost them their salvation, —Matthew 24:12.  Meanwhile they believe they’re going to heaven. Lies such as: ‘the Bible is not the infallible word of God;’ ‘Jesus was not birthed by a virgin mother;’ ‘all religions lead to God.’
Society has become overrun by the demonic. One major area I’ve seen the Believers’ passion waning is the political arena— aka government. These Believers have accepted the lie stating they need to stay out of politics.
God—Jesus is a judge, and King with a government which will never end— see Luke 1:32-33. Then 2Corinthians 5:10NIV “…we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…”showing, there’s a courtroom in heaven. Somewhere the church became sidetracked. We’ve not been effective in changing the world’s governments by our belief system.  (Newsflash! The reason our world is in such a mess is because Believers don’t hold all of the political offices. Those who do hold offices are fraught with backlash from the overwhelming majority of worldly politicians.)
Absurdly, Christians are prone to pick candidates according to the political parties of their parents, friends, even the evening news. They do so without investigating politician’s political platforms; where the individual candidate’s actions say they stand; often their voting records.
Believers numerically have the ability to seat and unseat any politician, IF EVERYONE of us would all vote. Too many Believers say, ‘oh it’s all fake or crooked,’ or ‘I don’t like any of the candidates,’ ‘my vote doesn’t count,’ —therefore I won’t vote. A non-vote is a vote for evil and Holy Spirit sees it. As Believers, all of us, bearing the name of Jesus must pray to get the mind of Christ— then vote. Even if it means voting against our favored political party. Perhaps I am a bit opinionated, but I don’t know how a true Believer could vote for anyone whose political party supports abortion or euthanasia, because that’s murder, Proverbs 24:11NIV “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.” God alone has that right to choose the time of death.
Darkness wasn’t allowed in Goshen where the Israelites had settled. They lived in light. None of the evil Egyptian government’s plagues came upon them. They were freed from the sufferings of their slave masters. Per 1Thessalonians 5:5NASB1977 we— “are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;” Our every action and motive of our hearts must come from the Kingdom of our God and His Light within us. Which way will you choose? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: Holy God we choose to live in the light of Your way and Your gospel. Help us to hold on to You in belief, in the nama of Jesus Christ I pray.

The Judgment Of God Is Real
In the 1950s a young songwriter wrote these lyrics, “What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see.” Christians will rejoice on that day. Those who haven’t accepted Christ won’t. Why? Because the judgment of God is real. They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.   2 Thessalonians 1:9 Let’s look at the verses before the verse we just read. The Apostle Paul commended the Thessalonians for their loving faith. Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing. 2 Thessalonians 1:3 This church experienced much persecution and hardships. Paul implied how he bragged about the way they handled themselves through it all. We proudly tell God’s other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. 2 Thessalonians 1:4 He went on to say how much God would reward them. Also what the Lord would do to those causing their sufferings. And God will use this persecution to show his justice and to make you worthy of his Kingdom, for which you are suffering. In his justice he will pay back those who persecute you. 2 Thessalonians 1:5-6 The Apostle flipped the coin over in this conversation as he continued. I personally would rather talk about the love of God and the eternal home He is preparing for us.
How Real is the Judgment of God?
Tumblr media
But, there is another side of eternity we must talk about. This side tells us about eternal punishment. He will come with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 Then in verse 9, as we read earlier, it says they are punished with eternal destruction. And they are forever separated from the Lord. Please understand, the judgment of God is real. I’ve heard non-believers joke about this. How they will meet all their friends there. They’ll have one big party. No, they won’t. They will be separated from God forever. What do you think it will be like being thrust out of the presence of God? I hope no one reading this post will ever find out. They might need to gasp for every breath forever. Or at least it may seem like gasping to breathe. The scripture mentions maggots and an eternal flame of torment. Jesus made reference several times to those cast into outer darkness. Which is a place with no light at all. He also said, gnashing of teeth, meaning pain forever. I’m not trying to use this as a scare tactic at all. I’m just painting the picture that’s already painted in the Bible. As much as we believe there is a heaven. We can know without a shadow of a doubt the judgment of God is also real. Jesus even mentioned both of them in the same sentence. And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life. Matthew 25:46
How a Person can Avoid the Judgment of God
Tumblr media
Unless a person experiences a changed heart, nothing is stopping them from going to hell. Also, their salvation isn't based on how good or bad they are. It comes down to each person turning their heart to Jesus. And we don’t have to look far into the scripture to find proof of that. Salvation Bible Verses - Everyone who believes in him (Jesus) will not perish. John 3:16 - For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. Romans 3:25 - The free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. Romans 6:23 - Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. Acts 16:31 - Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. John 14:6 Let’s take one more look at both sides of the eternity coin one before we pray. If you don’t know Jesus, take this next verse very seriously and turn to Him. Anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 21:15 Now for those who do know Jesus, rejoice for the path you have chosen. And please pray for those who need Him. When he comes on that day, he will receive glory from his holy people—praise from all who believe. And this includes you, for you believed what we told you about him. 2 Thessalonians 1:10 Check out this related post that will also help you. How To Survive The Judgment Of The Eternal Fire. Lord, thank you for changing my heart. Today I lift up before you, my friends, and family members. Those, on their present path in life, are heading in the direction of being shut out of your presence. Read the entire chapter of 2 Thessalonians 1. Read the full article

DAY 19: What should a believer’s attitude be toward suffering?
In 2 Thessalonians 1:4, Paul speaks of the “patience and faith” of the Thessalonians. Nowhere was their growth in faith and love more evident than in the way they patiently and faithfully endured hostilities and suffering from the enemies of Christ. Although there was no need to speak, since the Thessalonians’ lives spoke clearly enough (1 Thess. 1:8), Paul’s joy before the Lord over their perseverance bubbled up.
Having a right attitude toward suffering (v. 5) is essential, and that required attitude is concern for the kingdom of God. They were not self-centered but concentrated on God’s kingdom. Their focus was not on personal comfort, fulfillment, and happiness, but on the glory of God and the fulfillment of His purposes. They were not moaning about the injustice of their persecutions. Rather, they were patiently enduring the sufferings they did not deserve (v. 4). This very attitude was “manifest evidence” or positive proof that God’s wise process of purging, purifying, and perfecting through suffering was working to make His beloved people worthy of the kingdom (2:12) by being perfected (James 1:2–4; 1 Pet. 5:10).
For believers, afflictions are to be expected (1 Thess. 3:3) as they live and develop Christian character in a satanic world. Suffering is not to be thought of as evidence that God has forsaken them, but as evidence that He is with them, perfecting them (Matt. 5:10; Rom. 8:18; 2 Cor. 12:10). So the Thessalonians demonstrated that their salvation, determined by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ, was genuine because they, like Christ, were willing to suffer on account of God and His kingdom. They suffered unjustly as objects of man’s wrath against Christ and His kingdom (Acts 5:41; Phil. 3:10; Col. 1:24).

In other words, living a life unto Christ is not always easy. Trials and hardships will happen.
But it is never without purpose.
The wilderness where Jesus was tempted, the garden of gethsemane where Jesus prayed for God’s will to be done in suffering, and the foreseen betrayal of His disciple Judas.
These types of circumstances arrive ready with the invitation to carry on, pick up our cross and follow Jesus. But through His grace and sanctification, we will grow in Christ and overcome because HE overcame this world.
I’m so thankful for this truth by His perfect example.
•Isaiah 53:3-5// He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
•Galatians 2:20- I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
•2Thessalonians 2:13- But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.
•Philippians 1:6- And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
