I don't think this means what you think it means. I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure this simply means that Eggman is still the main antagonist of the franchise, but that he simply won't be the only one. That, in itself, isn't the problem. The problem lies in the narrative trend of Eggman sharing a game with another antagonist that winds up usurping him.

Week 8 - Youths representation regarding self-censorship and social governance 

Self-Censorship

Youths may be under pressure in some communities to live up to social standards and expectations, which can result in self-censorship (Legge 2021). Particularly, people with greater levels of formal education self-censor substantially more frequently (Legge 2021). This implies that they learnt how to avoid speaking the incorrect thing while in college.

Some people may become more kind and prosocial when they worry about receiving negative reactions (Legge 2021). Although those ideas still exist and haven't been addressed or altered, social norms that marginalise damaging or hateful attitudes so that those who hold them self-censor may be mostly good (Legge 2021). On the other side, excessive self-criticism, dwelling on the flaws in our words or deeds, or worrying about the prospect of losing favour with our social circle, can harm our mental and physical health (Legge 2021). It may be unpleasant and alienating to be unable to openly express our political beliefs and other elements of our inner lives.

Negative workplace effects might also result from fear of seeming dumb or from being rejected for speaking our minds (Legge 2021). Cultural customs, traditional beliefs, anxiety over criticism or reaction, or worries about the effects on one's personal and professional life can all have an impact on this. To avoid possible consequences or social rejection, some teenagers may decide to repress or hide particular facets of their identity, ideas, or activities.

Social Governance

In the larger scheme of things, the idea of free speech is relatively modern and continually changing (Legge 2021). Depending on characteristics including education, knowledge, access to resources, and interest in societal concerns, youth participation in social governance, such as politics, activism, and community involvement, might vary. Some young people could take an active role in social and political movements, fighting for change and making sure that their opinions are heard. They could organise campaigns on social media platforms, spread awareness, and undermine established power systems.

Youths can also actively oppose self-censorship and work towards self-expression. They may participate in social movements, promote individualism and freedom of expression, and use a variety of venues to freely express their ideas, opinions, and creativity. Youths' ability to express themselves freely, share their ideas, and question social conventions has been greatly facilitated by social media. For instance, Greta Thunberg, a Swedish environmental activist who sought to combat climate change, started the Fridays for Future movement in 2018 (also known as the School Strike for Climate)(The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2023).

Wu Zheng: Ancestral bloodline 2021

Wu Zhen created this artwork in my hometown of Hunan, China. He used threads to weave together the cultural heritage of our ancestors, including traditional medicine, literary figures, and celebrities. These stories and histories are imprinted in our DNA, passed down from generation to generation, and ingrained in our blood and memories. Although this artwork may not have been widely publicized, it still inspired me to want to showcase it on this blog.

I think there are two major reasons for my interest in this art. Firstly, I have a strange fascination with words. Unlike images, words leave a lot of space for our imagination. Therefore, I love to explore artworks related to words, as I believe it directly connects me to my cultural roots.

Secondly, I have a unique emotional connection to the artwork itself. When I see many different forms of written art, as well as the Chinese Symbol series, the collection of Wu Zhen's work seems to remind me of my own cultural monument, a vivid and unforgettable creation of creativity and memory. Perhaps the overall work is not particularly outstanding in terms of methodology and expression, but its existence serves as a monument of artistic creation, reminding me to search for my own roots. I believe this is a very true and grand idea that I carry with me throughout the creative process .

Furthermore, the oldness of the artwork also reminds me how we treat the objects that become traditional , forgotten or nostalgic. How we define the objects and ourselves through time or human's culture. I think Wu brings us some language through this work.
