i’m  still  out  here  researching  ciri   ...   and  i  still  haven’t  finished  the  game  if  we’re  tbh.   i  think  it’s  mostly  dlcs  now  but -  anywho -   i  just  got  the  vibe  that  she’s  extremely  uncomfortable  with  her  scar   ( and  that  it  also  used  to  look  worse  until  avallac’h  helped  her  out  ).    that’s  just  different  than  most  takes,  she  is  just  not  confident  about  the  scar,  hates  the  idea  of  it  ...   and  when  someone  insults  her  beauty,  she  instantly  says  something  about  the  scar  as  being  the  biggest  reason  why  she’s  ugly.   and  like,  ciri,  baby  the  scar  is  cool.    so  this  is  probably  one  of  the  times  that  unless  you’re  close  to  her  like  geralt,  yennefer,  or  sunny  at  the  moment,  she  just  does  NOT  want  you  talking  about  the  scar  let  alone  touching  it.

also,  the  whole  entire  idea  that  an  empress  or  monarch  is  usually  the  number  target  of  the  kingdom  for  assassinations   ...   then  being  so  highly  trained  that  they  can  defend  themselves  on  top  of  having  a  well-trained  royal  guard  is  just  so  captivating.   especially  when  they’re  good  natured,  high  morals,  high  virtue.   both  ciri  +  emily  sincerely  aim  for  the  benefit  of  the  empire  ...   that’s  why  they’re  there. and  ...  they  don’t  need  a  royal  guard.   they  can  walk  through  their  own  streets  without  a  care  because  nobody  can  touch  them.   it’s  just  so  captivating  to  me.

but  a  storyline  where  an  enemy  uses  a  loved  one  against  them.

𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚁𝙴  𝙸𝚂  𝙽𝙾  𝙵𝙸𝚁𝚂𝚃  𝚃𝙷𝙾𝚄𝙶𝙷𝚃.     only  an  emotion.     a  happiness  so  serene  that  it  makes  waking  up  seem    EASY   ,    when  normally  it’s  harder.     ciri  smiles,   green  eyes  peering  upwards.    head  leans  forward.     it  was  probably  the  least  regal  thing  in  this  empire  to  be  sleeping  with  her  head  back,   mouth  slightly  open.    she  can  try  to  play  off  the  exhaustion,   but  it’s  written  so  clearly.

“    hello,    love.   ”      comes  ciri’s  smooth  tone,   if  lovely  could  be  expressed  in  a  couple  of  words,   that  would  be  it.    the  wind  blows  in,   airy,   from  the  open  window.    ciri’s  smile  still  curls  the  corner  of  her  lips.      “   i  feel  a  nap  wrapped  around  you  would  be  most  appropriate  right  now.    do  you  agree?   ”

the  trope  was  right  there  &  the  witcher  3  didn’t  even  use  it.   the  one  where  someone  is  losing  control  &  a  loved  one  can  pull  them  back  by  talking  to  them.   it  was  right  there  &  they  didn’t  use  it.   

it’s  mine  now  &  i’m  gonna  use  it.

also,  i  just  noticed  that  both  emily  +  ciri  has  four  names  so  out  of  curiosity  i  was  like  ‘is  that  something  that  denotes  royalty  status?’  &  googled  it.

google  says  yes.

𝙳𝙸𝙳  𝚈𝙾𝚄  𝙺𝙽𝙾𝚆  𝚈𝙾𝚄  𝙲𝙰𝙽  𝚃𝙰𝙼𝙴  𝚅𝙸𝙾𝙻𝙴𝙽𝙲𝙴?     It’s  always  crawling  at  the  edge  of  Ciri’s  skin,   like  termites  in  the  wall  of  your  quaint  cabin.    Without  violence  there  couldn’t  possibly  be  peace.    Sometimes  the  world’s  kindness  is  threatened  with  cruel  acts  of  godlessness.    You  can  still  see  his  smile.    The  man  that  tried  to  ruin  Ciri’s  perfect  little  world.    It’s  still  on  his  lifeless  features.    That’s  how  fast  his  wrath  was  stopped  before  it  came  to  a  boil  &  seared  innocent  lives. 

“   Hello,   Grandmother.    You  should  see  the  other  guy.   ”      Ciri’s  soft  voice,  a  tired  rasp  echoed  around  the  clearing  like  a  halo.    She  smiles.    It’s  sweet,   it’ll   never   be  as  cruel  as  the  men  thirsty  for  a  power  they’ll  never  even  receive.    Heavy  is  the  head  that  wears  the  crown.    Heavier  is  the  heart  in  which  sorrows  drown.    The  Wild  Hunt  tried  to  come  for  her  Elder  Blood   &  failed,   it’s  kind  of  comical  that  this  duke  from  another  kingdom  tried  to  come  for  her  crown.    You  can’t  blame  him,   it’s  not  as  if  he  knew  of  her  struggle.    Nor  that  he  particularly  cared.

Somewhere  in  her  mind,   she  hopes  the  new  gash  just  above  her  jawline  on  the  other  side  of  her  face  doesn’t  scar.    She  can’t  handle  anymore  ugly  scars.    The  room  is  covered  in  bodies:     as  if  you  thought  one  mere  man  could  do  this.    The  Empress  isn’t  about  to  give  up  the  kingdom  she  swore  to     .....     LOVE   .
