I don't know if this is going to be expanded upon in Apologies but... What's Adeleine's relationship like with Characters like Meta Knight Magolor and Taranza? I'm just genuinely curious as we don't see them interact with her like the others! I mean... We did see Taranza clean himself up and prepare to go talk to her, Ribbon, and Susie in Star Allies, but not much else.
(Also I just wanted to say, I love how She and Daroach have a little sister/niece/daughter like relashionship!)
Heck yes, Daroach is absolutely Adeleine's super cool uncle! (To contrast Dedede's goofy dad attempts!) He just seems to naturally knows how to be there when she needs it and give her space to grow when she doesn't while Dedede is still trying to figure out if he's going too far or not going far enough?! (Then again, Dedede's origional encounter with the siblings is what put him in that awkward position to begin with. We'll soon see a little more about how his "relationship" with Noir influences his relationship with Adeleine.)
Taranza, once he heard Adeleine's story, probably considered inviting Adeleine to one of his and Susie's "grief nights" ...and then remembered those sometimes (often) involve alcohol and inappropriate yelling and decided against it XD
He offered her a patch of his sizable flower garden instead, if she wanted to plant some flowers for Noir.
Honestly, he doesn't know how to talk to her as well as Susie does because, unlike the two of them, he didn't lose family. TLDR, he wants to be someone who can help and impress and make things better but is a bit too awkward to try.
He has better success with her older brother in the Alternate Timeline, because they have much morein common...
Speaking of! I have this ask on that subject!
Tumblr media
Which was such a good idea, I wrote a little scriptlet for it!
--
:Noir in the gardens outside Castle Dedede, training: :Taranza floats up behind him, cordial: Taranza: "You're quite good with that."
Noir: "...You know your way around swords?"  (I thought you were just another squishy wizard...)
Taranza: "Ahaha... Not me! My queen did though. She was...amazing. Glorious. Beautiful..."
Noir: "Oh, right. I remember you now. You're the guy who merc'd his own...!"
:Noir claps a hand over his stupid mouth: :Taranza looks away: :Noir, ashamed:
Noir: "...Sorry. At some point, I got stuck in the habit of trying to push everyone away on purpose and now...I don't know how to talk to anyone without shoving my foot in my..."
Taranza: "No, it's fine. In fact... it's true. Truer than how most people would phrase it."
:Folds his hands, reflective:
Taranza: "I can lie to myself that the corruption made her a different person but...I know better than anyone that she was still..."
:Noir interrupts him:
Noir: "...She wasn't any different! I could still see her in there! She was calling to me...! Why couldn't I...?!"
:He stops before he breaks down again: :Taranza smiles faintly, sensing a connection building:
Taranza: "I've heard a little about you too. You and...your sister. Has it been hard to talk to the others about?
:Noir trying to play indifferent but struggling: Noir: "...What's there to say? They've already told me it's not my fault."
Taranza: "Do you believe them?"
Noir: "..........No."
Taranza: "Mmm..." :He turns away from the camera:
Taranza: "'I gave her the gift.' 'I wasn't watching her closely enough.'"
:Noir stares at him in disbelief: :It's like he's speaking Noir's mind aloud:
Taranza: "To the others, it sounds like I'm wallowing in my guilt. But to me... it's not something so emotional as 'guilt.' It's just my reality."
Noir: "..."
:Taranza, smiling:
Taranza: "I didn't meant to interrupt your practice however!"
:He starts to leave before Noir stops him:
Noir: "Hey, uh...! What if... there was someone... I wanted to talk to about this...? Would that be...cool?"
Taranza: "It would be excellent! I'm always open for company on the weekend for tea and knitting!"
:Noir cringes in 'guard down' way he hasn't in a while:
Noir: "Tea and...knitting? Seriously...?"
Taranza: "It keeps your hands occupied!"
:Points at Noir's hands, curled tightly around the Rainbow Blade: :Noir admits defeat, giving the first signs of a potential smile:

[Back to the Ask]
It's a similar deal with Meta Knight, really. It's not that he doesn't care, it's because he does care that he doesn't have a lot to say to Adeleine. Meta Knight is the "watch silently from a distance" type.
His attention is focused much more on Noir than Noir's remarkably emotionally well-balanced and together little sister.
As for Magolor...
I actually did write (another) scene with Adeleine and Magolor but it started to spin off in a direction I couldn't quite wrangle back into place, and I wasn't wholly satisfied with where it was going or what it was doing for either Adeleine or Magolor's characters so I scrapped it. Since I already dropped another script here, we might as well make this an Apologies AU script party and drop that one here too!!

[Old Unfinished Thing]
:Adeleine steps inside the Lor:
Adeleine: "Magolor?"
:He is asleep on the console, murmuring:
Magolor: "...L-let...let me go... ...Help...me... Ki...rby..."
:She shakes him, worried:
Adeleine: "Magolor! Are you okay?!"
Magolor: "AH!?" "What?!" "Oh! Adeleine..."
:He calms down, finally seeing her:
Adeleine: "Sorry to surprise you. You asked to see me?"
:shockingly chipper given a second ago:
Magolor: "Yes, yes! It won't be long! I just need to 'fit' you for something!"
Adeleine: "What is it?"
Magolor: "I'm calling them 'dress-up masks.'
:Magolor points to the Lor's screen, showing the ones he's got already. They start to scroll by, renders of the masks' various 'models' showing up alongside them: :Adeleine, impressed:
Adeleine: "...Wow! You made all of these yourself? They're so cool!"
Magolor: "That's right! And every last one was snapped and modeled by yours truly! With the Lor here, I was able to hop back and forth across timelines like it was nothing!"
:Eyes closed, getting into his boastful story:
Magolor: "Some of these very VERY tricky to get of course! Not everyone wanted to be immortalized in the galaxy's BEST theme park! I got in a couple of fights... Won them all, of course!"
:He trails off when he opens his eyes and realizes Adeleine is staring at the Dark Matter Blade mask and model: :Magolor, pensive:
Magolor: "I heard... from Susie, that is... ...that unusual looking Dark Matter...was your brother?"
:Adeleine nods slowly:
Adeleine: "Noir..." "You...met him? While he was like that?"
:Adeleine, frightened to ask: :Magolor reads this emotion on her:
Magolor: "Yes! He was...strong! Truly a noble warrior! The toughest I ever faced! You ought to know I barely got out of there with my...!"
:Adeleine's expression sinks: :She knows Magolor is making stuff up for her sake:
Magolor: "...Sigh."
:He taps a button: :text appears beside the image: :the label "Dark Matter Clone" now displays beside the mask:
Magolor: "I couldn't do it. It's not him up there. Not your brother. Not...exactly. I snapped a recreation from another timeline. One without emotion. I did try to go back there. Back to the source."
:His expression tighens:
"But what I saw fighting Kirby in those dark skies... frightened me."
:He turns off the mask display:
"...Because I've been there."
Magolor: "I made a decision when I started this project: I wouldn't shy away from anything. Even the bad. I felt that everyone, like me, deserved the chance to own up to their sins and become free."
Magolor: "...But I'm a hypocrite."
:He taps at several more keys in a row: :A model shows up on screen as Magolor turns away from it:
Magolor: "Because there's one mask missing..."
:This model has no accompanying mask: :Magolor Soul's haunted expression stares back at the camera:
Magolor: "...I can't stand to look at it. To remember. I couldn't just neglect your brother but, honestly? I can't stand to see him either."
"Do you think I'm an awful person?"
:Magolor's own face reflects the haunted, mauled smile of his soul:
Adeleine: "...No. An awful person wouldn't have felt bad enough about lying to tell me the truth. ...Even if it's unpleasant."
"I'm not sure I'm ready to hear pleasant stories yet. I only saw him once and I was so scared, I ran away. Maybe...if I hadn't, if I'd tried to reach out to him, he'd still be here in some form...?"
-
(For your sake, Adeleine, I won't repeat the things I saw or heard that night. I'm sorry if that means you'll never know your brother's last moments. But I can't...I'm not ready to face that part of myself yet.)
...
[//ANNND like I said, this is about where I realized that not only had this gone on way too long and I had no ending in mind, these two had gotten massively OOC over the course of it and cut the story here!]
---
---
TLDR, Magolor is usually pretty good with kids and pretty good with "faking it" too but he's also something of what we would call a "bad adult." That said, Magolor's status as a non-paragon means that he can give her a perspective NONE of the good adults WILL give her.
Which is valuable.
(It's just not the one above. Because I don't like that XD )
PS: Since Apologies actually crosses over into Salty French Bread(!!) it ought to be said that unlike her brother, Adeleine thinks Marx is the cutest, funniest little guy and because Adeleine loves him so much, Marx in turn loves playing silly tricks with Adeleine like eating all her crayons and then splitting in two to create a rainbow.
...
...
...
...
...
Oh? What's this?
Are you still here?
I suppose since I'm giving out Apologies script bits in this post there's no harm in delivering a final little tidbit. Like the above, this monologue is also NOT Apologies Canon, but if we have any fans of mindbreak + horror in the audience, you might enjoy this brief (non-canon!) potential exploration into Noir's mind during Arc II...

Headcanon: Kirby hugs everyone
Tumblr media
Kirby is a very huggy boi. He loves giving hugs.
Pretty much anyone that is Kirby's friend is going to get hugs from him.
Hugs is one of Kirby's ways to try to provide comfort for someone. He's not good with words of encouragement as he's kind of nonverbal a lot of the time anyways. He'll give you a hug to try to make you feel better, and he also does it just to make you appreciated and cared about, since he wants that for pretty much everyone more or less.
Generally, this works out very well. Even people such as Meta Knight, Magolor, and Daroach that generally aren't huggers on their own are glad to accept hugs from Kirby. It's the least they can do after how lovable and endearing he is, and after everything he's done as a hero.
Every dream friend has received hugs from Kirby. Even Dark Meta Knight, who is generally the most reluctant out of them to accept a hug, has relented to Kirby hugs. Nobody can deny Kirby his hugs.
A lot of Kirby's friends love to return the favor and give him hugs! The most prominent examples of this are King Dedede, Adeleine, Ribbon and the animal friends. Out of the animal friends, Rick, Nago and ChuChu are the most happy to have hugs with Kirby any time. Nago in particular is just a straight up cuddlebug, he's a big hugger too!
ChuChu, Kine and Gooey may not have great skin texture for hugs, but does Kirby care? No. He gives them hugs anyways! Even though Kine and Gooey aren't able to hug back, it's not like they care, they enjoy getting hug by Kirby regardless! They appreciate him so much.
Marx rarely gets hugs in his life. Generally, he doesn't really care for hugs. That being said, Kirby has given him hugs... and he appreciates it! There's a part of Marx that does think it's rather amusing that Kirby chooses to give him hugs considering what happened between the two before, but he figures that the least he can do is accept those hugs! Kirby caught him by surprise one time by hugging him while he was bouncing on his beach ball, which then caused him to fall.. Marx ended up laughing after that because Kirby sure got him there!
The mage sisters normally aren't suited for hugs considering their elements cover their bodies (i.e. Francisca feels icy to touch, Flamberge feels very fiery hot to touch) but I headcanon that they're capable of turning off the elements inside their bodies to where they're capable of giving hugs. And they do that for when Kirby asks to give them hugs. They love hugging with Kirby! They owe it to him after he saved them and Hyness, who likes to hug him as well!
Out of all of Kirby's friends, though, the two that are definitely most needing and deserving of hugs are Taranza and Susie, considering the things that have happened in their lives. After Kirby reconciled with them, he's sometimes been going out of his way to act as emotional support for them. He's made sure to give them both tons of hugs... their grief makes him sad and he wants to them to still feel cared about and appreciated despite losing the people they loved.
Taranza needs hugs for obvious reasons. Dude is just heartbroken from all the things that happened to him. He's so grateful to Kirby whenever he gives him hugs, it often makes him cry happily. Kirby is effective at acting like an emotional support dog for him sometimes.
Susie has gone a very long time without any hugs. When she got banished to Another Dimension, she didn't have anyone that she could've given hugs to, and when she finally returned to her mind-controlled father that forgot her existence, he refused to accept hugs from her... tragic. The first hug that she's gotten ever since the Another Dimension incident was from Kirby when they reconciled.
Because Susie went so long without hugs, it's made her not used to physical affection for the most part. When Kirby hugged her the first few times, it made her flabbergasted, and it even made her cry when she tried figuring out how to respond to it. But eventually as she got more used to it, she really likes Kirby's hugs! Even if she's still not really one for physical affection otherwise, she's glad to have hugs with Kirby any time... she's grateful for it, as it's indeed helpful for her.
That's basically all I have for this post! As this post highly establishes, I headcanon that Kirby loves giving hugs, and will give a lot of hugs to those that need it. It doesn't really get more huggable than Kirby.
Kirby is such a softie. He has so much love and care in his heart. He cares so, so much. Whenever he befriends someone, he's going to act like a real friend to them. He might not talk very often, but it usually doesn't even matter because of how endearing he is. He wants his friends to feel cared about and appreciated, and giving them hugs is probably his best method of making them feel cared about.
Thanks for reading! More Kirby headcanon posts will come later!

Halcandran Talk {blog update}
{Finally ! Some content for Star Allies aftermath well, I have yet to approach Morpho’s whereabouts, but this will come later}
{I wanted to make a comic but totally lost the motivation, so here’s a drabble instead. Been a while since I’ve finished a piece of writing, and all the characters featured here are ones I enjoy exploring the personalities and dynamics of, so this was pretty fun to do !}
{Enjoy~}
The room’s atmosphere was tangible.
Susie straightened herself as Magolor sat down next to her. They’d agreed that he would do most of the talking. Not that she wasn’t a good diplomat ; but Magolor knew more – he always knew more – and was more involved than she was, is all. She’d add to his speech when judging necessary.
“First of all,” Magolor spoke, “I want it to be clear that we have no intention of harming you. So please don’t destroy my ship.”
Being an Ancient and a Modern Halcandran, they had considered the possibility of their “guests”, who also happened to be resentful trained soldiers, attacking them on sight.
They’d found themselves lucky with the first two, too confused and groggy from the healing program to react. The third one however had immediately launched herself towards them - despite visibly staggering on her legs.
Even more surprising, the words she’d spat in a low, threatening voice hadn’t been slanders towards their people, but inquiries about her superior’s whereabouts. To which Magolor had answered from behind a star-shaped barrier that he was still in recovery procedure, in the adjacent room. Withdrawing her spear, she’d seemed for a moment as if she was going to verify herself ; then decided otherwise and checked on her companions instead.
Now they were all installed in the Lor’s living room, silence only broken by the ship’s quiet buzzing. Magolor wore his casual blue and gold outfit, as well as his facemask, but his position was one of focus and self-respect ; characteristic of him debating as the Crown Prince of Halcandra and not a simple traveler. Susie herself was in “business mode”, with her usual suit, a straight posture and a few report files on her lap.
The three women sat in a couch across from them. Now that they were awake and not floating in Lor’s recovery tubes, Susie studied them attentively. They had no traces of injury left, but their clothing was torn and burnt here and there, and the former secretary made a mental note to do something about it if everything went well.
On their right side was the tallest of them, with soft eyes and gorgeous blue hair draping her shoulders and back. On the left was a short and tan girl with fist for hands, pouty lips and a fiery gaze flicking rapidly between Magolor and Susie. Those were the Frozen and Blazing Generals, Francisca and Flamberge.
Between them stood their leader – the one who’d attacked mere minutes ago – in a diligent, almost military posture that contrasted starkly with her subordinates’ unnerved shifts and glances. This, was Lightning General Zan Partizanne. Her gaze was piercing, emotionless, reminding Susie of her company’s elite robots ; and she couldn’t help but draw an ironical parallel between herself, half flesh and half machine since her childhood accident, and that woman of cells and blood but the mind of a killing machine, responding only to the one she sworn allegiance to.
(Loyalty, honesty. Those were concepts both Magolor and herself were unfamiliar with for the longest time.)
Susie refocused on the situation ; Magolor had already started talking.
“… thanks to my reclaimed position as the Crown Prince, I was able to lift Halcandra’s taboo on magic, and on the Ancients’ culture as a whole. Meanwhile, my associate Susie here leads the Haltmann Works Company to sustain for those who need it most. To sum it up, we work together to reunite the Ancients and Moderns of Halcandra despite our past conflicts... and try to save what's left of our economy and environment while we’re at it.”
The mages took in each of his words, but seeing them frown in doubt, Magolor added more quietly :
“There’s still a long way to go, of course. And I know it may seem crazy given the state of the planet when you left it. I lived there too, and as a pure-breed Ancient, there are probably people who are still out there for my head.”
(His voice had traces of sympathy in it, and a few years ago, it might have been fake. Now, Susie couldn’t tell.)
Zan Partizanne, who still hadn’t moved an inch, blinked.
“Are you here to take us back ?”
(Her tone clearly indicated that she didn’t want to.)
“No. That’s your choice to make. Keeping you updated is all, I haven’t cut to the chase yet.”
“Then spit it out already,” snapped Flamberge. “I hate that interrogatory vibe you’re giving.”
“We’ve already told you we wouldn’t hurt you…” intervened Susie.
“Yeah, well, you could try anyway—”
“We’ve found you badly injured, unconscious, and drifting outerspace. Do you think we’d have gone through all the trouble to put you on recovery if we had hostile intents ?”
The girl opened her mouth, but Zan outstretching an arm in front of her with a firm command had her shutting it tight before she could retort, and she exhaled loudly through her nose instead. Francisca, who followed everything without a word, placed a hand on the Blazing General's shoulder. Their leader, in the meantime, had returned her full attention to Magolor.
“You’re with that pink one, aren’t you.”
“Indeed,” he replied, eyes crinkling from an invisible smile. “But they’re not aware of your presence here yet. Before that, I have to know what you’re planning to do next.”
The sisters turned to their elder with questioning looks. For the first time since the start of the conversation, Zan’s gaze shifted away from her hosts and went to trail somewhere on the floor.
“I won’t ask for your little backstory, nor for your connection with that priest,” Magolor said, seeing their hesitation. “But I have one tip to give you.”
His eyes took on an eerie gleam. “Tempering with a magic that isn’t your own…. It can lead to a fate worse than death. I speak,” he paused, putting weight in each of his words, “from experience.”
(Susie could guess the hidden scars at the corners of his mouth, and shifted her own mechanical legs. The Jambandrans had no business with technology, so she didn’t mention that it could backfire just as horribly.)
The Lightning General snapped her head up to stare back. “We perfectly knew what we were doing.”
“Oh ? Then was getting digested by Dark Matter part of your plan ?”
“You—“
“How do you think your old man went mad to begin with ?”
The woman sprung up, visible sparks coursing around her limbs. The sudden movement had Flamberge crouching as well, fingers curling and uncurling around the hilt of a sword that wasn’t there. Susie clenched the report files she’d been holding, feeling her hair gain volume from ambient electricity. Magolor, not moving, calmly held her stormy gaze.
“Zan, he’s right.”
A pale hand gently caught the General by the arm ; Francisca had spoken, voice as soft as her eyes. Zan looked back at her with half inquiring, half threatening eyes, though the sparks were already disappearing.
“He’s right,” she said again, more firmly. “Hyness is beyond recovery. We can’t go back to the old times. I hate saying that - I hate hearing myself saying that, Zan. But we… don’t have to keep on doing this.”
After a few, suspended seconds, Zan shifted her eyes from Francisca to Flamberge. The latter had dropped her fighting posture but remained tense, staring at her superior in silent intensity.
The General’s gaze trailed to the floor again. Then, bringing a trembling hand to her face, she slowly settled back down, closed her eyes and let out a shaky sigh.
“Japologa,” she muttered to Magolor, who shook his head. The Lor resumed its hum, which they hadn't realized had stopped ; Susie allowed her death grip to relax and glared at its captain. Talk about diplomacy.
After a few moments of silence, Zan Partizanne straightened herself back up, folding her hands on her lap. “What are the options ?”
“Currently, you have three,” the Crown Prince said, lifting some weight off the atmosphere with his usual pep. “One, you leave on your own, with or without your boss, never to be seen again. Two, you return to Halcandra. Three… you come to Dreamland and help around to make up for your actions.”
Zan rose an eyebrow, but Flamberge cut her to the chase again : “Oh, sure, let’s return to the people we tried to kill with a basket of flowers.”
Magolor let out a laugh, and Susie couldn’t help but follow. “The worst is that it works, you know ?” She said.
“Juh ?"
Closing her eyes in bittersweet memories, Susie carried on :
“A man I’ve personally wronged once told me, “the path of lost souls always leads to Dreamland, for it is a place of redemption and new beginnings.” You’d be surprised at the amount of people who’ve been in the same situation as you. Right, Magolor ?” she ended in a wink, which he waved off with a snort.
“Sure,” he said. “Just to tell you that it’s not as stupid of a plan as it seems. As Susie hinted there, you wouldn’t be the worst people these guys dealt with.”
“... What even…” muttered Flamberge.
“One last thing. I dunno whether you plan to stick around your boss, but his recovery is gonna take a while, and I have no guarantee of what will be left of his mind. I’d like to speak to him once he’s awake too – if he doesn’t blast me on sight, that is,” he finished, grumbling to himself.
(Not that there’d been much of a mind to begin with, they both knew, and maybe they did too ; but saying so would only rile the Lightning General up again.)
Suddenly, the Lor’s spirit materialized next to him, making the Generals jump. She leaned down and murmured a few words to her master, who nodded and got up.
“Aaaand that’s it for now,” he said, and Susie stood as well. “I’ve told you the basis of what you needed to know, but any choice is yours and yours alone to make. Take your time to consider the options ; I won’t mind if you need to stay here for a few days. Feel free to start discussing it among yourselves, or just have a look around while I’m occupied.”
Zan Partizanne looked at them. She’d lost her steely stare, and now her eyes were hesitant, and maybe a little afraid. Most of all, she looked tired.
“Jamanke,” she murmured as her gaze trailed to the general direction of the room where Hyness rested ; Francisca’s hand still on her arm. Magolor nodded at Susie, then left the room, followed by the Lor’s graceful silhouette.
Watching them huddle together, not standing up just yet, Susie mentally reviewed the many turns the conversation had taken. These three were in the same position she’d been in not so long ago, except that their only misdeed was being loyal to the wrong person at the wrong moment. They hadn’t lied, they hadn’t manipulated, they hadn’t betrayed.
Susie made another mental note to introduce Zan Partizanne to Taranza. Then, excusing herself, she left with her mind set on finding some spare, clean clothes.
