His eyes have yet to open, but when he hears the familiar shuffling of footsteps, the crinkling of a bag and its contents, and the little wet steps that he could only assume came from a Simipour, his head turns slightly.
"Beebles?" He weakly calls out. He couldn't see or move his body, all he could do was call out to her and hope she heard him.
And she did; from across the pod where Cheren was, Bianca was making her rounds throughout the mechanisms, making sure that everything was accounted for and she could pull Cheren out of the dream machine without consequence.
She only knew a bit about how the machine worked, however- she used it for dream travel many a time, but she was never the one behind the panel, pressing buttons and working her magic- that was Amanita's thing.
"Hydra," Her Simipour looks up at her at the mention of her name. "Go to Cheren's side. Remove those little, um, things on his arms and legs. The plug-like things,"
She salutes and chitters happily as she makes her way to Cheren. Her presence seems to soothe Cheren, and he finds himself relaxing back into the pod, drifting off to a dream.
Bianca smiles a little bit, but she resumes in her task.
There was no telling when Colress would be back. She needed to act quickly, gather necessary documents and evidence, and find a way to escape.
She could only hope that the intruders she heard that broke in were her allies- or at least, help that would assist her and Cheren in getting out of the Frigate.
Cheren does not make any sounds of pain as those little things attached to him were removed one by one; Simipour is even kind enough to roll down the sleeves of his shirt and pants as she does so, and scurries about looking for his coat.
Bianca takes a glance above the monitors, finding it had shut off completely- no longer showing her that display of an empty field of red spider lillies.
She's about to make her way to her friend at last, when she hears something from underneath one of the panels.
She doesn't hesitate to take Musharna out of her ball.
"Mums, help me out here!"
The pink Pokemon does a cry, weeding out all what was hidden from her sight; pens that have clattered to the floor, paper cups that rolled out of sight..
And a young girl in a familiar hat and bubblegum pink hair, similar to the picture Rosa had shown her before.
She does a terrified squeak when Musharna lifts her up in the air, hugging her bag close to her chest; when its contents spill out, Musharna is quick to pick those up too, gently guiding them down on the table in front of Bianca.
She sees a planner, an Xtransceiver, several markers of varying colors, and a red apple.
The last item makes her freeze.
Still, she instructs Musharna to gently lower the girl back on the floor as she sends out her Serperior to coil around her; not too tightly, but not loose enough to let her escape either.
She's not fond of such tactics, but if this girl was part of Team Plasma, she couldn't hold back- not when her friend's life was on the line again.
"Not too tight, Dahlia," She says. Her Serperior huffs, but complies.
The girl looked so utterly terrified, Bianca couldn't help but feel bad, even if she knew for a fact that she and that other child- the one with the spiky green hair, were the reason she and Cheren were here in the first place.
They couldn't be bad; they just couldn't.
Hilda would have told her otherwise.
"Hydra, Mums, go help out Cheren, okay? I'll be with you in a sec,"
She approaches the scared girl, reminding herself to not let herself get lost in her own fears.
Don't lose your heart.
"Nancy- no, that's not who you are," Bianca shakes her head. "Yancy. You're Rosa's friend."
She doesn't answer with anything else but a scared whimper.
She doesn't have a hazy look in her eyes, not like Cheren had two years ago.
What she did have was the same hurt and apologetic expression as Anthea and Concordia had, like she was a Herdier being yanked around on its chain.
If she never wanted to hurt anyone, Bianca could help her.
"I won't hurt you," She assures, crouching down to her level. Dahlia looks at her incredulously, which Bianca ignores. "Really, I promise! Look at you, you're just around Rosa's age, aren't you? Maybe a little older? Goodness, you should be in school, or traveling.."
Her eyes water a little a bit.
"You don't have to explain everything to me right now, but I need to know; are you doing all of this against your will?"
She gets the answer she expects.
Yancy stiffly nods.
"Then that's all I need to know. I'll need you to come with me so we can help you. Dahlia," The Serperior huffs, but Bianca pouts her cheeks and stomps on the floor a little. "She's just a little girl, let's let her go."
Before the serpent could uncoil, the mechanical doors suddenly open, and a wave of electricity sends Hydra flying against one of the screens, cracking them.
"Ah-! Mums! Psyshock!"
"Noise, Flash Cannon."
"Dahlia, help Mums out! Dragon Tail!"
"Beam, Psychic."
Dahlia unwraps herself from Yancy, slithering away to strike the Magnezone that attacked her allies.
Bianca grabs Yancy by her wrist and runs to the opposite end of the room, far from the battle that takes place and to where Hydra had flown.
She recalls her back to her ball as she immediately makes her way to the pod, trying to finish off the job herself by frantically removing everything she can off of Cheren.
"You know, Miss Alabaster," Colress speaks, his glasses shining underneath the lights. "We're discovering things. Great things. I don't get why you're so opposed to the idea when you yourself seek the truth of the legends."
Yancy looks up at Bianca in worry.
She does not pay him any mind; with all the strength her body could muster, she tries to carry Cheren out of the pod before her knees buckled.
She wasn't Hilbert, who could lift his body with ease- so she settles with wrapping his arm around her. She would get them out of here no matter what.
"If you are willing to help Team Plasma's cause, I suppose I can offer you an incentive to do so," Colress strides past the battlefield, an aura of Protect surrounding him as he walks. "I can make no promises, but if you help us with trying to harvest memories out of your friend, I can return you the body once we're done. Consider it a souvenir."
"You're not serious about that, are you? What kind of person will accept that offer?"
"I make no jokes," He stops his tracks. "You are the Scholar of Truth. You should be elated; if we are able to extract his memories as The Heart, we will be able to finally have a complete, unbiased version of events."
"And who can say you'd stop at Cheren?" Her voice is shaky, but she tries to remain firm. "Because that's not enough. You'll definitely do the same to me, to Hilda, to anyone else, because the legends don't just end there! We'll never be able to find out the whole truth, because we can't feasibly get everything we need from just a few people!"
Yancy sees one of Bianca's hands palm over a Pokeball on her belt.
Colress' expression does not change, but he sighs. "This is as close to the truth as you can get, but you're denying the opportunity for sentimentalities."
"You can look down on me and what I do all you want, but I would never trade my friend for anything."
Such a statement makes Colress raise an eyebrow.
"Denying the truth again, aren't you? Your friend has died two years ago. The person he is now and is acting in his conscious is a shell of who he once was."
"I don't care! Cheren is Cheren, and nothing you say will ever change that!"
"Is that so?"
He flicks his finger.
Another Pokemon bursts into the lab, crashing through the metal walls without so much as a struggle. Its body was a shimmering silver as opposed to the usual blue that Bianca knew most Metagross had.
"Tomb, Earthquake."
She expected this.
She throws another Pokeball up in the air, and a Swoobat comes flying out. "Azalea, Telekinesis!"
A pink aura surrounds Bianca and all of her allies. Azalea cries as she uses all of her power to lift all of them off the ground as the Metagross' earthquake hits Beheeyem and Magnezone, which holds onto dear life thanks to the Focus Sash tied around it.
Colress stares as the attack pierces through the rest of the lab, breaking a huge chunk off of the wall and exposing them to the sky.
The pull of air is simply too much, and Bianca finds herself and her allies thrown off the ship while Colress and Metagross stay in place due to Magnet Pull.
His eyes never leave her, Yancy, or Cheren for a moment, even as his experiment is ripped away from his grasp.
As Bianca falls, she recalls Dahlia back into her ball and steels her resolve; Yancy is screaming and crying for help, and Cheren is unconscious.
She hopes that their power is enough; at least, enough to cushion them to safety.
"Mums, Azalea, Psychic!"
Both Pokemon make strained cries as they pull themselves together to surround the falling trainers with a pink energy, brighter than any they've made before.
And suddenly, Bianca finds herself almost floating in the sky as their fall becomes slower and slower.
From above, the ship of the Plasma Frigate seems to have been badly affected by Colress' reckless attack, and was steering itself to land into the forests of Giant Chasm.
She spots silhouettes flying out of the ship as it slowly collapses on the ground; two of belonging to bird Pokemon, one belonging to a dragon, and another belonging to a Jellicent.
She sighs in relief.
When she feels the sand crunch under her feet, she finds Yancy clinging onto her jacket for dear life, still shaken and sobbing while Cheren is laid on the sand, unmoving and still.
"It's okay," Bianca says, trying to calm her own nerves as she pulls Yancy closer to her. "You're safe now, both of you are."
And for the first time, Yancy says something to her.
"He's going to punish Curtis," She says through sobs. "And he's going to kill my Togetic,"
"Hey, hey, ssshh, it's alright, he won't do any of that! We won't let him, okay? We'll save Curtis," She supposes it was the other idol kid that the kids befriended. "And your Togetic. Okay? He won't scare you anymore, okay? We'll protect you."
It's not much, but Yancy seems to feel safer now; instead of using this chance to run away and hide forever, she remains in Bianca's hold, almost desperate for any sort of comfort she can cling to.
Though the adrenaline slowly starts to wear off, Bianca knows the battle is far from over. All she can do is wait for Hilda and the Aspertia Trio to update her on their next course of action as her legs give out in exhaustion.

incoming xtransceiver call from @pyrorabbit: “Vivi’s back!” Vivi says cheerfully as he enters the window he had opened earlier. “Vivi had to make a big doodie, needed to find a place to quickly wash up at after.”
Almost as if Arceus himself decided to answer the many questions that might come of this situation, the news channel had a special update.
Reporter: “Humilau City’s Gym had to unexpectedly close for maintenance not too long ago as the water in the Gym was tainted by a foreign element. We now go to Marlon for an update. Marlon?”
Marlon: “I understand that my Gym is a great place to cool off in, so it’s unfortunate that we have to close our doors to any challengers while we clean up. I am willing to accept that a child had an accident and perhaps was too embarrassed to say anything. I can’t imagine why such a thing would be intentional, after all.”
Upon closer inspection of Vivi, his lower half was still dripping wet.
Tumblr media
For a whole minute, Rosa just stares from Vivi to the TV back to Vivi... until she finally connects the dots and bursts out laughing.
Tumblr media
“Vivi, you absolute legend!” It’s a joyful, unrestrained laugh that brings tears to her eyes and momentarily makes her forget how to breathe.
When she finally wills herself to stop laughing, she wipes the tears from her eyes and bundles him up in a kitchen towel. “What do you want for breakfast? Mommy will make you whatever you want!”
Today is off to a FANTASTIC start.

the past in perspective | chapter one a ferriswheelshipping story told differently if you would like to know more about the past in perspective or pip, click here. i do apologize... its a slow beginning... enjoy........
For the past few months, Unova has been rather quiet. In fact, it comes to me that the region seems to have always been somewhat quiet. It’s quite unfortunate, really, as Unova has a lot of potential to be such an impeccable place. I must sound so spoiled to speak like that, being Champion and all, yet it’s really easy to become wrapped up in the external here and hard to find something worthwhile.
In other words, everything is so shallow. I’d prefer it if things went deeper and more personal, but it seems whenever I try to go for that Professor Juniper becomes cranky, Bianca starts to act uneasy and scattered, and Cheren snaps at me. It’s really odd. When I started out in Unova everyone was so welcoming, but now that I’m at the top...it really doesn’t feel that way. I don’t feel like the real Champion of Unova, because the actual Champion has been missing for years.
I’d find it fantastic to know what happened to her, but she seems to be a taboo subject of the kind. What I have heard of her was that she was quite the trainer, with quite the team, and made quite the impression. It’s dissatisfactory to be at the top and not feel like it because there’s some mysterious backstory with a tragic hero of the kind I’m for some reason not allowed to know about.
Snooping around into other people’s business is not what I’d really like to do, yet sitting around all day feeling constrained definitely outweighs the former. Therefore, my sneakers kissing the ground that was Nuvema Town and heading over to the professor’s lab came to be inevitable. As my hand reaches for the doorknob, a loud yell from the inside sounds through. While I stand in front of the lab, I hear the professor say something along the lines “It’s not possible, she doesn’t want to…”
“That’s absurd, professor, and you know it!” the voice yells again. The large, and obviously angry, steps of the voice I could feel make its way to the door, and swing the door open surprising both parties.
The dark-haired, older teen peers down at my face, his brows furrowing. “Ah, Rosa, sorry,” he says to me, trying to collect himself and contain his apparent frustration. “If you’ll excuse me.”
Cheren walks away, but not before releasing quite the sigh. I swallow, fearing to enter the lab as it exuded tension from the previous conversation. Yet, the professor, sitting at the computer, welcomes me with a normal smile, acting as though Cheren’s anger did not happen.
“Hello, Rosa!” she exclaims heartily. “What a surprise! How can I help Unova’s Champion?”
I feel rather uncomfortable all of a sudden, somewhat like I’m intruding. And now the question I dare to ask sounds, and without a doubt seems, impertinent. I fly all the way from Aspertia to ask a ridiculous question in attempt to dig up what will probably be a tragic history. And then I will feel awkward for the next week and never want to show my face.
“Uhm… Uhh,” I begin while fiddling with my fingers. In that moment, however, I calmed down. My lungs breathe and my eyes find the professor’s. “I actually have a really important question to ask you.”
The smile on Professor Juniper’s face fades as she slowly understands the severity of my words.
“You have to tell me, I can’t stand being called Champion when there’s so much friction behind the title,” I continue. “What happened to Champion White?”
At the sound of the mysterious Champion’s name, a silence overcomes the lab and the assistants glance at me.
“I can’t tell you that and you should know by now none of that should matter,” she tells me in a hushed tone.
“I think it does matter, I’ve been Champion for over a year now and there still seems to be this weird air surrounding the title and the person who held it before me.”
A few seconds pass in quiet as the professor stares at the floor.
“All right,” she relents in aggravation. She sighs while straightening her posture and then points to the seat across from her. “I will tell you about White, but first… Do you remember the young man who helped you defeat Ghetsis?”
My brown eyebrows knot. “N you mean? The lanky one with green hair?”
The professor nods. “He’s very deeply connected to White.”
I remember N briefly, and now that I think about it he would mention a particular trainer whenever he would try to explain himself to me. I recollect thinking he was very strange. He has an unsettling aura about him, as if he had something unfinished floating around him constantly.
“Much of White’s disappearance has to do with N, and…” she stops, her lips press into a thin line.
“And what?” my voice urges her to continue.
Professor Juniper stares at me grimly with her green eyes. “And what they were.”
‘White had been in Unova for a long time, with Cheren and Bianca, and you know she reached the age where her mother thought it would be a good idea for her to have a Pokemon of her own,’ I slowly explained to Rosa. ‘Those three chose amongst the three starters quite peacefully, now that I recall. White had chosen Oshawott. They were a remarkable pair, might I add. They bonded quickly and he was always obedient and loving. And she raised him to be a splendid Samurott—’
Rosa cleared her throat. ‘I thought this was about White and N?’
‘Right, right. So the details I have about her meeting N is a little scattered, I heard this part mostly from Cheren and Bianca, but they met in Accumula Town, shortly after White started her journey to beat the League.
‘He apparently challenged her to a battle and said rather odd things to her about Pokemon. It was a very quick meeting, as Bianca recounted it to me, saying he left her faster than he came to her. Though it was Cheren who truly noticed the impact N had on White. He told me after that encounter White seemed to be more distant and somewhat introspective.
‘It wasn’t until a little bit later I learned about N, though, when I met with White in Nacrene City. Unfortunately she had run into N again, and he said more strange things, which White would not confide in me except for his words about the Legendary Dragons.
‘As you can see, Rosa, N sounds like he was quite the villain, messing with White’s mind a lot. But many of us can only assume that much, as the only people who know what was truly said between the two are White and N. You must remember that White indeed came out the hero of the mess Team Plasma created, though it’s probably still unclear to you as to what really happened. A little further into White’s journey, a discovery was made about N.
‘He revealed to her something that did not exactly shock her, but upset her for reasons none of us still don’t know today. N was the “King of Team Plasma.” It didn’t really register with us why it bothered White so much, from what we know they were not very close and the most distant version of acquaintances.
‘Bianca’s reasoning is that White always saw the best in people, while Cheren accused her of fraternizing with someone so little known to her. Now that I’ve given it some thought, Cheren’s behavior when N was involved with White had always been somewhat hostile. Maybe he was a bit jealous.’
I had mumbled that last sentence to myself, and watched Rosa’s reaction to see if she had caught it. I do not believe she did. I began to wonder how much time I could buy through slow storytelling. It had been just to my luck when my Xtransceiver rang and I told Rosa I unfortunately had to stop.
The young girl’s face contorted into an expression of displeasure. She allowed a sigh to escape from her small mouth and nodded, saying she would leave me to work. The second the door closed behind her, I moved into the other room to answer the call. It had been just the person I wanted to speak to.
“Hello, White,” I greeted her face through the Xtransceiver.

Now that Reshiram should be actively trying to assist Touya, and not harm it, Axel’s decided that he’s safe to stay in Unova, as long as people keep tabs on him a lot.
Maybe he should move to Aspertia, so Cheren can keep watch. In fact, he’s kinda sure that Cheren wouldn’t mind letting him stay for as long as he needed-- and even if he didn’t, there’s still Nate.
By now, everyone probably knows Lugia’s here, so it’s best if he just keeps using them, as long as he’s careful where they fly.
“Lia, we need to get to Aspertia City. Fly high, so we don’t risk breaking buildings.”
‘Of course.’
As Lugia begins to fly, Axel notices that Gold and Ho-Oh are following beside him.
“What’s up, Gold?”
“Starscream said it was nice to be able to spend time around Lugia again, I thought maybe we could hang out a little after this?”
“I really gotta get back to Sinnoh after all this is cleared up. Lucas has been practically yelling at me to get back.”
“Oh yeah, I keep forgetting you’re the Professor now.” Gold laughs somewhat. “I’m sure I won’t be for at least another ten years. I’unno if Elm trusts me enough, or something.”
“Pfft, of course he trusts you, he just probably doesn’t wanna retire. Rowan practically had to.”
“That’s true. What’s your plan, then?”
“Get T to Aspertia, make sure that either Cheren or Nate looks after him-- Cheren’s probably a good bet-- then I gotta go.”
“And Nuvema cleanup?”
“I can hope that Aurea doesn’t hate me for what happened, and that somebody’s trying to fix it now.”
“Are you taking a boat from Castelia? I could go check how Nuvema’s doing and then we could meet up and take the same boat.”
“Don’t you need to be back in Johto?”
“Not if I say I’m assisting you with work. That’s how I got out here in the first place.”
Axel seems to nod, and Gold waves to him as Ho-Oh turns towards eastern Unova. Now, all he needs to do is make sure that Touya is somewhere safe.
Lianon has to glide down to Route Nineteen, settling themselves into the water, craning their neck out so that Axel can walk onto dry land, with Touya’s unconscious body in his arms. He returns Lianon to their Pokeball, and starts heading towards Aspertia. It’s a weird walk into the city, and he can only hope Cheren is where he expects him to be-- The trainer school.
People are watching him. He’s carrying someone that people recognise-- people know this is Touya. No doubt his face was all over the news after the first Crisis. He’s trying to avoid letting anyone ask questions, but the crowd that’s started following him is somewhat terrifying.
Maybe they know he has Lugia, too. Maybe they’re waiting for the chance to get ahold of one of his Pokemon. Maybe they’re expecting a chance to ask so many questions he doesn’t have the answer to...
...but they’re silent. They don’t say a word, they don’t say anything to each other, they simply follow Axel as he walks to the trainer school.
The door is still open, and Axel has to turn himself sideways so that he doesn’t hit Touya against the doorframe. There’s a split second where he can see the crowd-- it’s like the crowd he saw at last pride-- and he’s not sure what emotion to feel.
Once he’s inside, however, he can hear them start talking. Asking questions about him, about Touya, about Legendary Pokemon, and what he might be doing.
At least the commotion has brought Cheren out of his office.
“Cheren, I have... something to ask you.”
“Axel, what...” Cheren looks at Axel, and then at what-- who-- he’s holding. “Tou--?”
“I need you to look after him. He’s had a rough month and I don’t know if Bianca or Juniper have told you what happened in Nuvema, but it was... a mess. I need to get back to Sinnoh, but I think Touya is safer here.”
Cheren seems to nod. “Alright. I guess he’ll wanna get back to a normal life--”
“Yeah. Also, there’s... a large crowd of people outside. I’m gonna go out into the Gym part of the school and fly from there. Just keep it in mind.”
“Axel, why is there a crowd of people outside?”
“I mean... I kind of arrived on Lugia, and it is Touya, and he hasn’t been seen for ages. I got him... out, about a month ago, and he stayed indoors the whole time.”
“Got him out? Of what?”
Oh boy, he didn’t explain that to Cheren, then.
“The... the Light Stone.” as he speaks, Axel checks his Xtransceiver. “I super need to go.”
“Fine, alright. Leave Touya with me, and I’ll make sure he’s safe and comfortable. Guess I won’t be seeing you for a while, though?”
“No, responsibilities are right behind me and I’ve got about fourteen Trainers waiting for their Pokemon.”
“Then go as fast as you can.”
Axel places Touya on a bench so that Cheren can take things in his own time, before heading out to the Gym. The Trainers are still here, which must mean that Cheren’s had a lot of challengers recently...
He brings out Davi, and as he starts heading towards Castelia, he sends a few messages. First, to Lucas.
Professor Dinkass: hey lucas, gold’s coming with me Professor Dinkass: also, send brav back, tell him to go to aspertia Professor Dinkass: touya is ok and he’s being looked after.
Then, he sends some into the group chat he has with the Aspertia Trio.
Professor Dinkass: hey you guys Professor Dinkass: thanks for helping/covering me Professor Dinkass: hugh i hope youre ok, i saw you got hurt but i couldnt do much at that moment Professor Dinkass: rosa. thank you for saving my life Professor Dinkass: and nate, thanks for helping gold stop the fires Professor Dinkass: touya’s with cheren right now Professor Dinkass: so yall can go see him when he wakes up Professor Dinkass: hopefully things can return to normal now
snage (snail rage): good to hear from you ax snage (snail rage): im doin alright, theyre minor cuts cause i moved fast enough snage (snail rage): rosa got me to the hospital after stabilizing it mostly with her audino snage (snail rage): guess youre back to sinnoh now? snage (snail rage): we’re probably all gonna go to nuvema for a bit to make sure things get fixt snage (snail rage): see you soon, i hope snage (snail rage): call me when you get back to sinnoh
