Writer Questions

@laineybug04 tagged me to answer these questions, so here goes nothing!

🌓fluff or angst? - I try to balance them out ultimately but... much of what I like turns out to be angst, even if I don't personally perceive it to be angst XD I like introspective, existential conversations and concepts, and unfortunately, a lot of people... view them as really sad. Maybe they actually are and I just don't realize it.

🧒favorite character to write? - I like to write from the perspective of any character I think truly is trying in their heart of hearts, even if they mess up… often XD Maybe because they mess up often. Existence is hard.

💕favorite ship to write? - I like ships that can play into both the worst and the best of both people involved, and a lot of the ships that I do enjoy I like because I appreciate the dynamics of respect and consent that go into them. Like- I like the ships that take WORK, if that makes sense.

📚favorite fandom for write for? - Lol, Sonic.

🍑do you/would you write smut? - Oh boy. Um… You know, I’m not sure. I don’t write smut, but I don’t know if I’d go into writing it either. I think it would be a fun challenge. Some of the best porn-with-plot pieces I’ve read have a lot to do with communication, healthy boundaries, respect, and genuine adoration/care, which are all the things I like writing anyway so… We’ll settle for ‘I’m not sure.’

🥰fave fic you’ve written?- Probably ‘His King, Crown, and Country’, which is a sonadow piece in SatBK universe but… I enjoy writing Shadow from the perspective of being horribly in love, and that’s the only time I’ve had a chance to do so. Also, I love poetic prose. They make me so happy. Incidentally, that was the first fanfiction piece that I ever showed my partner, and it was really sweet (I hid around a corner to watch them read it because I was too shy and nervous for them to read it with me in the room… you know… like a god damn child) so there’s that.

🏆fic youre most proud of? - Hanging On to Tomorrow. I’m hellbent to finish it.

💎fave trope to write? - Gosh… I don’t know the names of tropes really well, but I do like Two Idiots in Love and they Don’t Realize it/Don’t Realize the Other Person Likes Them Too

🌍fave type of au to write?- I don’t write a lot of AUs… but I do imagine characters in a lot of the classic literature that I end up reading.

🍄how do you get yourself in the mood to write?- I don’t sleep for like, a day or two. Instead, I stay up and just think and think and think and think and think. Physical exertion also helps. I have made it a habit to walk for at least 3km if not 9 ever day, and I think best when I walk.

💡what inspires your fic ideas?- Usually a single scene that comes to mind. Just… fully formed. With Hanging On to Tomorrow, it was actually the first chapter. It was suppose to be a one shot… and then… it just wasn’t, because more single scene ideas came to mind and I realized they were all connected, and just… well….yeah

😎canonverse or au?- Can I pick an AU where the characters are actually written well by the franchise/company they belong to or-?

📒any fics planned?- Let me finish Hanging On to Tomorrow and then we’ll talk. I do have three one-shots that are done/almost done that I just want looked over before I post… Then I’ll properly get on with ch11 of that.
