in the year 2011 , after her mission for simmons in the eastern slav republic and while undercover in order to hide from both the bssa & the cia and knowing that she may be on borrowed time she allowed herself to seek out information on her parents and whether they were truly still alive or not . before this moment she often convinced herself that she did not need to know if they were alive or not , that it would be better for them to think she’d died all those years ago just as she had thought for years . upon her search ada found that one of them was indeed still alive , her mother , though her father had only passed a few years before . tracking down her mother was easy enough , her search eventually leading her to a hospice facility . her mother , being incredibly ill and seemingly incoherent , was unaware of ada’s true identity at first , though she soon knew once ada finally spoke to her , using a small phrase they often used together when she was a child . sharing only vague details of her life , ada sat with her mother until her final moments , leaving once she took the necklace around her mother’s neck ; an old , small , wooden crucifix . she wore this necklace during the events of resident evil six and onward , refusing to take it off .

most likely an independent contractor / mercenary ( tho i could definitely see maybe her being member of kor.tac or specg.ru but i feel like they'd have to offer her something pretty good or have some sort of blackmail on her for her to stick to playing for one side )

well rounded skill - wise ( w/ hand to hand combat & firearms but probably prefers to stick to firearms unless absolutely necessary )

much prefers being assigned to solo missions rather than team missions as she rather work alone than with someone else but will work with a team if needed

ada has a lot of scars from her time in gangs & her life as a spy . the scars vary from wounds caused by knifes , bullets , fire , etc. basically anything she might've come across in her work she probably has a scar from it . when having to do infiltration missions , such as her one with john clemens , she will either cover them up with makeup / clothing or ( when either of those are not an option ) pin each one still visible to a sob story from her early life that will make the person she's attempting to get close to feel empathy for her . the scars do not particularly bother her to look at but she does not like talking about most of them .

sharing some lore i dumped about my ada on discord a few days ago . . .

... like she never gives her real name / any actual information about herself & i headcanon it's because she's taken on so many different names / personalities / lives for all of her jobs that she's just truly forgotten a lot of it between all the stuff she's endured ( because who wouldn't have lots of trauma in the resident evil universe ) & just having to constantly fit herself into different molds, she just can't remember anymore , she's always questioning herself on it and like on her part it's both a blessing & a curse because this way if she can't remember then anyone she knew / any family ( if they're alive ) is safe from what she does now but also it's just such a disconnection that sometimes she truly just doesn't know who she was & it's a very startling feeling realizing you're just always reflecting what people want from you back at them

thinking about ada ( honestly when am i not ) & the way i've just realized something

the way that if her birth year is correct from what we're told in the games ( which is 50 / 50 since ada is a known liar ) they're trying to tell me this woman is almost 50 years old in this design. i refuse to believe , though i will say it plays into my headcanon that being infected in re.4 & maybe even having under gone some "upgrades" from the organization that her aging is stunted / slowed in some way.

small brainrot that is kinda headcanon but isn't fleshed out enough for me to make a whole formatted post for

whether ada's parents are alive or dead is unknown to her , she knows she could look them up / search them out but she doesn't want to draw attention to them and put them in danger should they be alive. they believe her to be dead and with the kind of work she is often in , it's better if it stays that way & it's better that everyone believe that ada believes they're dead as well.

ada does smoke on occasion , mostly when she's stressed . she smoked more frequently when she was a teenager because she started doing it to fit in with the people she was around , to appear older / more mature than she actually was so people would take her seriously . when she was younger she tended to smoke clove cigarettes but now she prefers menthol's when she does get the urge to smoke.

i've mentioned it before but ada doesn't have one place she stays / keeps all of her stuff so honestly she doesn't really own much per se . i think she doesn't understand a lot of need for random household things ( think like cooking gadgets , decorations , etc. ) . ada just does not understand the big deal if someone has a special cup or a specific painting and honestly thinks it's just unnecessary . a big part of this is she never really had a home growing up so she never had any of these " luxuries " or knew that they really existed .

it depends on what the emotion is to be honest and just how much it's effecting her at the point in time . when she was younger / in her teen years she definitely was more of a loose cannon but the older she got & the more she had to learn to rein in her emotions due to her line of work , the people she worked with , etc . i think there are definitely times she'll let her irritation or anger show , maybe the occasional time she'll let a smile slip onto her face when she wants to keep up her uninterested facade .

i think it also depends on who she's around , if ada truly trusts who she's around she is more likely to be more open with her emotions / act on them more often around them . however , if she is unsure or downright untrusting of the person she's with she will bottle up everything she's feeling in order to get through their interact .

ada has many plans already in the works in case of her death , many things she's set up years in advance to happen should she die . one of them being that there are a small group of people who will receive letters she's written , to inform them of her death mostly ( though there may be some other information included depending on the person ) . in the end , most would not be notified until weeks if not months after when she has not gone & reset all her failsafes within an allotted amount of time .

to be completely honest with you i don't think ada's ever celebrated it genuinely at least , therefore a lot of her feelings are formed through stuff she's seen in media , by watching other's , etc . in all honesty , she doesn't get the hype around it and thinks people who put a lot on getting gifts , celebrating the holiday , etc . are a little ridiculous but honestly that is kind of her outlook on a lot of things ( holidays , birthday , etc. ) . of course , she technically has celebrated it for , but it's most likely just been a part of an act on her end .

all in all she doesn't really see the point but i do think if she were to celebrate it with someone she cared about ( & had allowed herself to get that close to ) she might find herself liking it , if only a little bit .

i think it would be only after she has figured out their needs through analyzing them / they are communicated with her . ada is very good at reading body language , it's a part of her job to be able to read people enough to manipulate them into getting her wherever / whatever she needs .

this all also kinda depends on how long she has known the person she's with . if she's known them long enough to have gotten their mannerisms / general behaviors memorized then when they are in a romantic setting / are partners she'd be much quicker to pick up anything they may need quicker because of a shift in their behavior / mannerisms .

before being recruited by wesker to work for " the organization " , ada had considerably longer hair than she often known to sport , the length going down to her mid shoulder . she only cut it once the chinese - american gang she'd been apart of was shut down by the federal bureau of investigation and she had to go on the run . it was mainly an attempt to change her appearance enough to evade detection and capture . ada found that she liked the style as it was much easier to manage than her longer hair and it was harder for whomever she was fighting to grab her hair if they wanted an upper - hand against her .

ada has many places she " lives " , though most of them seem to have never been touched and every single one is under a different alias ( effectively a good majority of them are safe - houses of sorts ) and she never stays in one place long so there is rarely ever a singular place one could find her , unless she trusts them enough to tell them where she was staying in advance . these places are fairly generic , almost seeming like an apartment that's been staged to show people when they're thinking of renting a similar unit . it's also hard to tell when ada has been in one of her places if someone does manage to find one without her telling them , as she is very meticulous with cleaning after herself , leaving no trace that someone has been there . she doesn't want a connection to the place where she's staying , it's simply a means to the end for her . besides , she's never had a home before , so she isn't going to start now .
