hello!!!

as someone who plans to pursue a career in english, i think writing is something that has always come to me naturally. i started writing fanfiction right before middle school, so i was already in this weird transition phase of my life and discovering myself as a person. i’ve always had an imaginative mind and i’ve always enjoyed writing so i took a stab at it to see where it would lead.

of course, my prose was nowhere near where it is now, and i knew that at the time, but writing for me has essentially always been about self preservation and self gratification. i’ve gone through longer periods of time without having friends irl than i’ve had them so writing, even from the beginning, has been my main source of escapism. i’ve written for many many many different fandoms, so i think i’ve seen almost all aspects and genres of fanfiction.

just like everyone else, i’ve struggled with coming to terms with lack of interaction and lack of motivation, but also dissatisfaction with my own work. i’ve been through numerous writing hiatuses, but i find myself coming back every time because it’s just such a big part of me. i continue writing because it’s so fulfilling when i’m able to finish a fic and then sit back and think “wow, i did that…” you know? as much as i love sharing my work with others, it’s more satiating when i feel proud of myself.
