"Are you sure you're ready to play?" He had briefly explained the game to the Altair before, just in passing. Silas used to play chess more, but people stopped playing with him after a certain age. And free time was difficult to come by in general since the engagement. In conclusion, it'd been awhile since he actually had a partner to play with.

He had spent the last little more then half an hour on explaining all of the rules and each of the pieces movements. He went ahead and reset the board, setting up the white pieces in front of the servant.

It was early morning- barely past what was night when he got into his apartment. One he thought was empty- though apparently not. Lucky for both of them he recognized her as soon as he saw her. A random figure in his apartment wasn't the safest thing to be- but he knew most dangers at least wouldn't bother to lay down on his couch.

"It isn't safe for you to just show up here," In too many ways to list, so he'd let her imagination pick whichever one she preferred. He walked over to the table behind the couch and set down his keys and wallet. Then he crouched down and began to open the safe.

"How long have you been here?"

It wasn't like he could judge the other, he hardly managed to pull himself out of his room to get an idea of what all was around. It wasn't particularly surprising that maybe half an hour after he found refuge in the library his fiancé came looking for him- and found him given the fact he was now sitting in the room with him. Silas had gotten pretty good at ignoring the man- and he mostly managed to do so for a few hours. He had taken up one of the smaller couches, he had stolen a blanket to bring with him with little intent to move from his spot for awhile. It took a bit before he realized as he was trying to read the words were starting to blur more and more.

He paused for a moment, moving his hand up to rub his eye and blinking a few times. He continued for a few more pages, eyes narrowing for a moment before he looked over to his fiancé. He then looked back to his book. It was getting harder to stay awake and he didn't exactly want to get up. A few more looks back and forth before he decided to try it.

"Can you go get Altair?"

His ability to heal was useful enough, just not fast enough to be any kind of impressive. His body had healed just enough for him to wake up- his injury not entirely gone. He was just going to lay there in pain, until he realized someone else was there. He quickly sat up, not the best idea given the sharp pain that shot through him. He put his hand up to his head, glancing to the other.

"What are you doing here?"

"Neither, exactly. Though it does save me time of taking a walk later. Though manners are a dead art in hell, I like to try to use at least some established over the years," Pretending to be a gentleman in hell had it's irony, though of course he was only so dedicated as upholding some sort of personal image of himself was concerned. Still, as per usual there was always another motive that still motivated him. For one, it assured a clear ending- and he had actually yet to see the hotel.

His dedication to retirement had kept him from going himself he also didn't see much of a reason to deny the opportunity either. As they walked he seemed to take no notice of the reactions he was getting, which was pretty much accurate. Though it was less difficult to ignore the reminder of just how hard it was to find good places to walk through hell.
