Finished watching summertime render with sister. Honestly enjoyable, I like how most of the fighting is done by like four cool girls and one cool old man. The girls are just so cool. I love them. Too bad about the other shonen stuff

Nothing Left Untouched by ForeverShippingJohnlock (K+, 2,617 w., 1 Ch. || Friendship, Romance, Bed Sharing, Oblivious Sherlock, Anxious/Worried Sherlock, Grumpy John, Fluff and Cuddles) – Sherlock rearranges the flat. So what if John’s bedroom is now a research library. It’s not like John needs a bedroom, he can share with Sherlock. They’re friends and John has obviously slept in close quarters with men before and it’s not like Sherlock sleeps much anyway. It’ll be fine.
BBCSH ‘The Comfort of Company’ by tigersilver (T, 2,769 w., 1 Ch. || Post-TRF/Mary, Hurt/Comfort, Romance, Bed Sharing, Grumpy John, Touching, Clingy/Handsy Sherlock, Cranky Sherlock, Fluff and Light Angst) – It’s a trope that John and Sherlock end up sharing in the same bed eventually and I admit I do adore it unconditionally, along with all it infers as to the lowering of defenses and the heightening of trust. I put forth for your consideration that the notion persists because those who think about these things realize these two men are each in dire need of some good company.
Pillow Talk by 221b_hound (E, 2,925 w., 1 Ch. || Post-HLV, Est. Rel., Preening Sherlock, Limpet Sherlock, Frottage, Hand Jobs, Sex on Furniture, Scent Kink, Masturbation, Fluff, Soft Sherlock) – John gets home late from work and Sherlock is nowhere to be seen. John walks through the flat, distracted by memories of all the excellent sex they’ve been having, and finally finds Sherlock asleep in the upstairs room - apparently having fallen asleep mid-wank while inhaling the scent of John’s pillow. Well, you should always finish what you start, John thinks… Part 3 of Lock and Key
Museums and Laboratories by RhododendronPonticum (T, 3,004 w., 1 Ch. || Romance, Angst, Obsessive Sherlock, Anxious Sherlock, Anxiety/Panic Attack, Separation Anxiety, Doctor John, Co-Dependent Sherlock) – If Sherlock’s kitchen was his laboratory, then his bedroom was his museum.
The General Idea by agirlsname (T, 3,022 w., 1 Ch. || Retirement, Promise of Forever / Proposal, POV John, First Kiss, Tooth-Rotting Fluff, Soft Sherlock, Idiots in Love, Crying / Emotional Sherlock, Love Confessions) – After twenty years of friendship, John is used to Sherlock acting weirdly. But the news Sherlock finally brings himself to deliver change the carefully built dynamics between them, and John realises it’s time to act.
After the Bombs by VampirePam (T, 3,337 w., 2 Ch. || THoB AU, Drugs, John’s PTSD, Panic Attack, Nightmares, Caring Sherlock, Cuddles, Bed Sharing, Angst, Hurt/Comfort) – In which the drugs Sherlock used to dose John trigger a severe episode of PTSD. When terrors old and new cause John to fall apart, Sherlock must rectify his mistake and pick up the pieces.
The Oolong Disaster by unicornpoe (T, 4,151 w., 1 Ch. || John’s Beard, Fluff, Humour, Frustrated Sherlock, John Takes Care of Sherlock, Case Fic-ish, Pining Sherlock, First Kiss, Possessive Sherlock) – John has a beard. Sherlock has a panic attack.
Afghanistan in Baskerville by Amaya Ramiel (K+, 4,357 w., 1 Ch. || THoB Fic, Hurt/Comfort, Drugged John, PTSD / Panic Attack, Hallucinations, Worried Sherlock, John’s Past, Friendship) – What if John hadn’t seen the hound when Sherlock trapped him in the lab? What if instead, his very real nightmares of the war had materialized all around him? Trapped and drugged, John can’t tell what’s real and what’s not. How will Sherlock react?
Overture by Kate_Lear (M, 4,435 w., 1 Ch. || First Kiss / Time, Friends to Lovers, Angry John, Introspection, Dev. Rel., Embarassed / Insecure Sherlock, Morning After, Bed Sharing, Cuddles / Limpet Sherlock) – A short snippet on how John and Sherlock might have got together.
Welcome Home, John by slashscribe (G, 5,504 w., 1 Ch. || Post-S3, Angst, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Awkwardness, Stabbed Sherlock, Protective Sherlock, Panic Attack (Sherlock), Self Esteem Issues, Love Confessions, First Kiss) – When John moves back to 221B, he thinks he’s the broken one, but after a while, it becomes clear that he might not be correct.
Pillow Talk by scullyseviltwin (M, 5,183 w., 1 Ch. || Post-S3, Angsty Fluff, Pillow Talk, Bed Sharing, Worried John, First Time Morning After, Soft Sherlock, Sexuality Discussion, Love Confessions, Kisses and Cuddles) – John has been looking at Sherlock for ages, it feels like.
My First, My Only, and My Forever by vintagelilacs (E, 6,220 w., 1 Ch. || Post-ASiB, Virgin Sherlock, Pining Sherlock, Sherlock’s Bum, John’s Scar, Sherlock POV, Body Worship, Fingering, Bottomlock, Promise of Forever / Proposals, Misunderstanding, First Kiss/Time, Loss of Virginity, Virginity Kink, Seduction) – Sherlock narrowed his eyes. He was missing a vital piece of data, he was sure. John had been looking at him oddly ever since they left Buckingham Palace, and the ensuing incident with Irene Adler had only exacerbated his erratic behaviour. What was it? Why would he care that Sherlock was a virgin? There was nothing reminiscent of mockery or pity in his gaze. And then it hit him. John Watson was aroused.
When We Sleep by PrincessNala (K+, 6,660 w., 1 Ch || Post-TGG,  Alternating POV, Bed Sharing, Anxious/Worried Sherlock, Hurt/Comfort, Hugs) – Sherlock needed to feel every beat of his heart, every rise and fall of his chest as he breathed. It was the only way to completely assure himself that John was alive and right there next to him, and not dead, no, never dead…
Of Razors, Pipes, Red Notebooks and Rugby Jerseys, Or: Sherlock Doesn’t Like His Doctors Clean Shaven by allonsys_girl (E, 7,313 w., 1 Ch. || Est. Rel., PWP / Porn With Feelings, John’s Beard / Beard Kink, Roleplay, Love Declarations, Banter, Rimming, Anal, Domestic Fluff / Bliss, Idiots in Love, Emotional Lovemaking, Pet Names, Obsessive Sherlock, Sherlock POV, Bottomlock, Cranky Sherlock) – John grows a beard. Sherlock really likes it. Part 1 of Consulting Husbands
Just Like That by sussexbound (E, 8,442 w., 1 Ch. || First Time/Kiss, Frottage, Virgin Sherlock, French Kissing, Anal, Emotional Lovemaking, Enthusiastic Consent, Tenderness, Crying John, Bathing/Washing, Insecure John, Toplock) – John doesn’t want to talk anymore. He wants. Oh dear god, how he wants. For the first time in what feels like years he WANTS.

He’s on the hunt for something to make for dinner, is scrounging through the cupboards, when he happens upon the graveyard of pasta boxes Sherlock still seems to create when left to his own devices. Behind seven boxes of pasta, all almost completely empty, is a dark-glassed bottle, with a paler coat of dust. It’s unopened. John’s face falls slack when he sees it, instantly recognises it, and for a long moment he just stands and looks at it.
Ravish Me by amalnahurriyeh (E, 10,025 w., 1 Ch. || UST / RST, Makeup / Lipstick, Sympathetic Sally, Experiments, Pining John, First Kiss, Face Fucking / BJ’s, Cuddling) – Sherlock is experimenting with patterns of wear on lipstick in daily encounters. John is going to go insane.

As the days pass by, John realizes he might be in for more than he bargained for. He doesn’t entirely mind.
Shuteye Shenanigans by Ayakae (K+, 13,263 w., 8 Ch. || Post-TRF, Friendship / Epic Bromance, John’s Nightmares, Angsty Fluff, Bed Sharing, Humour, Cuddles, Taking Care of Each Other, Domestics) – John Watson has never slept with Sherlock Holmes. Never ever ever. And never will, thank you very much. Well, there was that one time, but John didn’t count that. It was completely different, just like the second time it happened. And the third. And the fourth. Epic bromance, but it can be read as pre-slash if you wish.
A Silver Sixpence by _doodle (NC-17, 16,400 w., 2 Ch. || LJ Fic || For a Case / Case Fic, Fake Relationship, Humour, Romance, Marriage Proposal, Awkward Idiots, Cuddling, Touching, Kissing, Love Confessions, Bed Sharing, Friends to Lovers, Fake Until It’s Not, Schmoop and Fluff, Bottomlock) – “John, we need to get married. Part 1 of 25 Days of Johnlock
The Winter Garden by Callie4180 (T, 31,213 w., 13 Ch. || Post-S4, Retirement, Christmas, Slow Burn, Grown-Up Rosie, Parenthood, Rosie’s Cat, Angst with Happy Ending, Holidays, Beekeeping, Magical Realism, Sherlock POV, Sherlock’s Violin, Future Fic, Sussex, Honey, Magical Healing Honey, Love Confessions, Sherlock’s Scar, First Kiss, Touching) – As Sherlock nears the end of his career, he’s given the gift of a cottage in Sussex.   Beach Day
TW: None
Logan sighed as he put his materials down onto his desk. It had been another difficult day for him. Especially when it seems like nothing he does actually works.
Of course, he knows this is false. Logically, he does indeed make a fundamental difference in Thomas’s life. He is the one that takes care of not only his thinking but the fundamentals as well. You know, filing memories, tracking the pathways of neurons within the brain, that kind of stuff. He does a lot behind the scenes, more than the other Sides really get to see.
Except for Patton.
You see, what makes Patton special is his relationship with Logan. They are in a romantic relationship. It’s okay if you’re surprised. Virgil and Roman certainly were shocked. Well, they were at first at least. But then they saw how the two interacted and saw that in the end, it was probably inevitable.
Of course, Logan was currently thinking about none of this. In fact, he was still trying to figure out how he should sort Thomas’s long term memory during his deep sleep. There are multiple options, as he can do it alphabetically, numerically, or chronologically; all of which being fantastic answers, of course.
However, his plans for the night would be interrupted when there was a knock at his door. There were multiple people that this could be. However, through logical deduction, we may narrow the options down to infer who it is accurately.
Deceit is definitely asleep. Logan has noticed that on the occasion he does decide to leave his quarters during the night, Deceit is simply never there. That fact makes him an unlikely answer.
Virgil was a more likely suspect. Logan has observed him being awake at times when he has pulled all-nighters and gone into the kitchen to get the food he needs for sustenance. However, during each of those encounters, Virgil was in the living room exclusively. Either listening to music on those soundproof headphones he had or watching some kind of horror movie on the television. It is unlikely that he would let himself be distracted from such things.
Remus was completely out of the question. Mostly because he would simply barge in rather than knocking, as he either lacks the capacity for comprehending commonly known manners, or he does and simply doesn’t care. Roman is also unavailable due to a similar situation. Seeing as Thomas is dreaming at the moment, and nothing is broken, he is likely too busy to bother him. Which leaves only one side left.
He remembered to push his chair in when he got up to go open his door. He realized that his heart was beating slightly faster than it usually does at his average BPM. There was, of course, an explanation for it.
He simply didn’t want to admit it.
Finally, he opened the door, and as he expected, Patton was there. Here like he always is, with those bright brown eyes and shining smile. “Hello, Patton. What is your business here with me?”
How could his eyes get even brighter with just a simple question? It wasn’t logical at all. Perhaps Patton in some ways was able to defy logic.
“Well Logi Bear, I have a surprise for you!” A surprise? Logan thought upon it. He had sort of worked himself into a state of being unable to progress in his work. He had gotten a “burnout” of sorts. Perhaps a small moment of a break from his work would be beneficial at the end of the night.
“What kind of surprise, Patton?” It was an understandable question. He preferred to learn more about this “surprise” rather than stay unknowing of the topic.
However, the only answer he got back was a giggle. “Well, if I just came out and told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise now would it?”
Logan tilted his head, confused. “Really? Then why would you tell me about this surprise at all? It only makes me more curious as to what this unknown incoming event is.
He wasn’t given an answer at first. He was instead pulled out of the room completely, the door closing behind him before he could realize what had happened. But when he did realize what happened, he looked at the other, confused. “Patton?”
“Hey, don’t worry!” The heart only said with a smile as he started pulling Logan down the hallway by the hand. The logician tried not to focus on the excitement that was practically vibrating the air around his partner. He also attempted to ignore the warmth that came from their hands being connected.
He failed miserably.
“Where are you taking me?” Logan was still confused, however, based on how his lover was dragging him out of his room in such a fashion, he must be taking him somewhere. “You do realize that I have an incredible amount of work I must complete, correct? Even when Thomas is busy with more creative pursuits, I-”
“Logi Bear, relax!” Logan had been interrupted, however, he found that he did not mind this time, oddly enough. “I know exactly how hard you’ve been working. That’s why I got this surprise for you!”
The brain contemplated this, before smiling softly. Of course, Patton would know and he cares enough to do something about it. He would do it for anyone, really. He is Thomas’s heart, so he would understandably do whatever he could to help his fellow sides when they need assistance.
But what Patton was doing here is different than what he would do for the others. Logan might not know how yet, but he knew it would be.
Patton looked back at Logan over his own shoulder, that signature smile still on his face. “I promise, you’ll enjoy it a lot!” Patton always keeps his promises, and he doesn’t make them unless he truly believes he can keep them.
However, Logan did get a hint of what Patton had in mind for him he saw just what their destination was. It was Roman’s door. Despite not seeing it very often, the golden details and the stained glass window in the center of it. The window depicted Roman using his sword and shield to kill a dragon. Most likely a dragon-witch knowing the prince.
“Patton, why have you taken me to Roman’s quarters? You know that I often have nothing to do in his sector.” It was accurate. Being Thomas’s center of logical thinking, he would have no business in the part of the mind that takes care of things to do with the imagination or creativity.
But Patton must not care about that at the moment, based on how he hadn’t faltered a moment. “Well, why do you think? It’s for the surprise!”
Logan barely had time to analyze this information internally before he was being pulled into the room. Actually, upon entering, Logan realized something vital.
He wasn’t in a room at all.
Or at least, it was not a traditional room. The first thing he felt was the wind blowing against his face. Then, he was able to smell the salt of the ocean. It was-
“Welcome to the beach, Logan!” Once again, he was taken from his thoughts as Patton practically shouted from his joy. So there Logan went, being pulled along the beach by Thomas’s heart.
It was a beautiful beach, according to Logan’s opinion. The sand was fine and near white in its unblemished glory. Not a single piece of garbage was littered on the white sand. The water gently lapping on the shore is a wonderful crystal color, only possible in either a tropical destination or in one’s imagination.
“I told you you would like it!” Patton exclaimed, likely from looking at the face Logan was making. “What do you think of it?”
He was quiet for a moment, before smiling. “I believe that this will indeed be a quite enjoyable experience, Patton. Especially when you are here with me.”
Logan had incredibly limited power when it came to Daydreams. He simply was the exact opposite of what they stood for, so it was quite understandable. However, Patton was different. Despite not being Thomas’s creativity itself, like Roman or Remus, he did have some influence here. After all, the heart is often the genesis point for the things one creates in their imagination.
So that would explain how Patton was able to conjure up things within the Daydream. Well, Logan had inferred that what he was seeing was of Patton’s creation. In front of him was a large beach umbrella, likely to block out the sun. The pole of it was a soft pink color, and the umbrella itself composed of sections of two shades of blue, one closer to that of the sky and the other a noticeably darker shade. There were also two blankets underneath it, and thanks to the large size of the umbrella they were completely covered in shade. The towel to the left of Logan had a sleek design on it, minimalist while still being stylish. The other had images of multiple kittens on it in all sorts of poses and positions that most would find “cute”.
It was obvious which towel was for which person.
Lastly, there was a basket seated in the sand between the two towels and in front of the umbrella. It was wicker and was a decent size as well. Logan was unable to see it’s contents, however, as the top of it was closed.
“What do you think?” Logan turned to see Patton looking at him with that shining hope in his eyes, hands behind his back in excitement. “It’ll be just the two of us!” Patton must have done all of this for him. Well, it was more likely that Roman already had created the setting, as only he and Remus have the means do to something so complicated with Thomas’s imagination. Remus would have created something far more distressing.
“I believe...this will be quite a wonderful experience.” It was all Logan believed he had to say. He assumed so at least, based on the happy squeal he received following his words.
Suddenly Patton was in his bathing suit. Logan must have spaced out, so he didn’t notice until Patton came closer to him, only inches apart. The other’s suit was simpler than one might expect for Patton. Swim trunks that were light blue are what he was wearing. It was simple, yet fitting. His usual clothes were lying on the towel that Logan had inferred to be the others. It looks like it was his drying cloth indeed. He also had his glasses on, though that was understandable. Even in the Imagination, it would be inadvisable to go swimming in the ocean
“Come on Logan!” Patton had taken a gentle hold on Logan’s polo shirt. He was tugging on it slightly, but not enough to make it wrinkle. “Get into your swimwear so we can go into the water!” Suddenly that familiar gleam entered his eyes. Oh no. “After all, I already...” Please no. “...beach you to it!”
Puns were not a high form of humor. Logan should not laugh.
And yet he did. It was just a snicker, but he couldn’t hold it back. Though it was worth it to see that look on Patton’s face. The one only Logan ever really got to see.
“Okay Patton, okay.” He obliged the other, snapping away his clothes with his own swimsuit to replace it. Logan is not one who usually goes swimming, but he does have one ready for occasions such as these. It was a simple dark blue pair of trunks, however, it was sufficient.
Then, something unexpected happened. Patton kissed him. Right on the lips. “I love you, Logi Bear.”
Logan’s BPM skyrocketed without his permission, and he could feel his face flush an abnormal amount. Patton always had this effect on him. In fact, he was the only one of the sides that was able to do this to him. However, he had been so distracted by his own reaction that he didn’t even realize how the other was rushing down the sand to get to the water.
“Logan, hurry up! I’m going to beach you to the water!” Patton called when he was about halfway there.
Logan decided to make sure the other wouldn’t have to wait for him.
So he ran after Patton, just like he always does.

[Week 2] Summary Research Game Design: The Art & Business of Creating Games
PART 1 : CHAPTER 2: PRINCIPLE OF GAME DESIGN
Recognized problems in a game after created it. But how do avoid errors ahead of time? This chapter is dealing with design principles that are broadly applicable to all game genres.
Player Empathy
Understanding how the players will think while playing in the moment.
Able to unfold the game by ourselves
At the given points we are able to think:
No designers have completely accurate foresight
Here is the situation the player faces and here is the range of choices he can make
Now what will he likely to do?
The Importance of Testers
Testers gives the insight to the designer how the game would feel like
But remember to shut designer mouth when they are testing.
Else, never discover what thousands of actual gamers will encountered when they go another way.
Feedback
The basic interactions of game and player: I do something, the computer does something in response.
The feedback is what distinguishes a game from every other form of entertainment
Interactivity, is what makes our games specials, without it = watching a movie.
Every input should give him a discernible response. No input should go unanswered.
Many form of "answers" *must have some feedback
Control feedback must exist to tell the players
visual feedback
aural feedback
tactile feedback, if controller is so equipped
can be positive feedback or negative feedback
Grounding the Player
The player should always know where he is in the game and why/what he is doing.
Any given point, he should have a immediate goal, medium range goal, long term range goal
Game is huge can easily to cause player to feel lost
No game are played start-to-finish in one setting.
Medium Range Goal: Good sized steps towards the overall goal Example: Strategy game → Build a home base ⇒ Embodied in the levels
Immediate Goal: A problem that right in front of the player. Example: Strategy game → which units to build to fend off an impending attack
Throughout the game, he should always be doing it with some idea of how this single step fits into the longer path that will eventually lead to success.
The Moment to Moment Experience
Holding the player attention consistency in the game
Player should have interesting thing to do while he is in the game
Positive: Give him a constant stream of interesting choices that have significant outcomes
Negative: Not saddling him with tedious activities
Tips on avoiding dead spots:
Don't let player perform a complex actions twice
Render transitions have an option to bypass including cut scenes, audio and dialogs
Bypass the repeat transitions
Avoid text or dialog dumps
Automatic tasks that are boring
Immersion
compelling moment to moment experience design
bathe the players with a constant stream of image
Avoid gaffes
from typos to bad voice acting
stupid AI
changes of graphical style
Writing
Good writing can enhance the immersion of game
Design Within Limits
Consideration of :
budget and time
technical features that works that without crashing the player's machine
Removing Impediments 移除障碍
Technical problems (excessive disc swapping, long load time, game interruptions, bugs etc.) that need to solve in order to improve the moment to moment experience.
Disc Swapping
Not so much worries in current days, but we should keep in mind to reduce the amount of disc and swapping disc while produce the CD video games.
Load Time
Achieving Shorter loading time. Tech lead should encounter this problem to reduce the load time. Method to solve:
Reduce the size of level
Designate points along the way where to pause the game for short seconds for loading (ref. Half-Life)
Game Interruption
Not bringing back the player to the starting point while hitting the failures. Reduce the chance of him giving up.
Saving the Game
Horrible to not have a saving game method. Find a way for player to save his game or auto-save if possible. Autosave + Manual save is always a good choice
Housekeeping
Activities that the player should be able to perform at any point of game.
Pause
Quit, but reduce the chance he wanted to quit
Save/Load
Option Screen, easy accessible
Help
Bugs
Bug free on several ways:
Clear on Design Document
Be flexible in creating your design
Stay involve through the whole development cycle
Keep a level ahead
Interface Design
Creating a good looking, yet functional, interface is one of the most underrated tasks of game design — but it is vital to make it right.
Screen Layout should be aesthetically pleasing
Vital Information must be easier to get. Player should understand what is going on at a glance. (example: HUD)
Controls must be clear
Hone the input at the minimum number of non-awkward clicks, key presses or button pushes
Do not RELY on instinct to build Interface Design
Required to be tested by team → users.
Pay attention to the conventions in the genre
Elegance and ease of use are more important than increased functionality
Prototype the interface early and keep noodling with it
Keep come back to this over and over again throughout the development process
Not to confuse player
Game should be easy to play and the interface is help to do things quickly and simply
The Start-up Screen
A start-up screen that accommodate to all these users:
first time playing video games?
Expertise and need to go through game ASAP etc.
More different users
Start-up screen should give the player the option to:
"NEW GAME"
Loading a Saved Game
Going to Tutorial and Practice Area
Opening the options menu to tweak features
Replaying the opening movie (just in case people missed it, but the movie should be have option to bypass it)
Customizable Controls
Give the player as much controls over the interface as possible
Make everything adjustable:
Game controls, monitor settings, graphics settings, volume etc.
Provide best default settings we can arrives
Different people have different feeling, so customizable controls are very important
Clear option screen is important
Tutorial / Practice Mode
Some people want to directly jump into games, others might not.
Tutorial gives the player hand-on experience without endangering him.
A way to introduce mechanism
Cannot assume the player will actually play the tutorial
If the mechanism is important, then it is important to introduce it that he hasn't learned those yet which return to tutorial
Any opportunity that we could introduce the tutorial directly into the storytelling?
Structure and Progression
A game should be easy to learn but difficult to master.
Different genre have different meaning for the progression leap.
For puzzle game;
It is important to make the first level easy
"Let the game begin" should be my motto
First 15 minutes of the game should attract the player into the game
Balancing the difficulty of the level of the game.
First level easy, and not too hard
Intermediate level should not be too easy, if so the player will lose interest.
Final level should be hardest of all, and should balance between challenging and impossible
A game is too hard is no fun
Intuitive leap puzzle;
scatter examples of that kind of leap elsewhere prior to the player's encountering the puzzle
Sense of mastering and progression
Must listen to the testers' feedbacks of the level difficulties
Taking Care of the Player
You are not the player's opponents or enemy
Our job is to help the player to enjoy the game we created
My goal is not to beat the player
A good designer tries to help players get through the game.
Dead Man Walking
Do not put the player in the position that he cannot win and does not know it.
Bring the important tools on the player sights and get his notice about it for further use
Do not hide them away and cause them frustrated
Protect Newbies
Game start and make it easy for the player.
Ease him till he get his confidence.
Make the first puzzle easy
Play it Again, Sam
As read, the author wanted to share that designers should not make the game that which hits players badly while they make a single mistake.
Ways to solve this is to have a save point in the middle of the level.
Checkpoints to the progression
Avoid to design one of these
But recently, the game market began different, they have ridiculous game like Getting Over it, which the player would fail and fall back to the points.
Give the Player the Information He needs
All the knowledge a player needs in order to play the game should be included within the game
Cannot rely on strategy guide, web sites, word of mouth to supply the critical information
In the game rather than in the manual
Many games have undocumented features — special move or tricks that aren't mentioned on the manual
can be fun, but make sure it is not essential for finish the game
Tricky question on dealing with, "everyone knows"
if the game rely on specific knowledge, make sure it is within the game
Reduce Player Paranoia
Give some small, incremental rewards to the player to reduce their paranoia
Gently steer the player in the right direction
HOW TO DESIGN
Create an Integrated Whole
When we have the high concept, it is just the time to build it with multiple questions to ourselves
Thus, lastly and longer the world will build itself
Economy of Design
In game development, economy of design also helps us to schedule and budget.
If we know what to build, we will not waste time and money to create materials that are not important
High concept also important in this regard, the features keep poping and we cannot do it all
Thus can help us to decide what to keep and what to ignore
Where Do You Get Your Ideas?
If we create something interested to us, then the ideas comes out naturally.
Balance the idea and those with the team.
A visionary guys is needed to central the idea and all proposals and suggestion against it
Game Design is a collaborative art, and you need contributions from multiple discipline
such as story, art, programming, gameplay, sound, music and even sales and marketing.
Cabal approach.
set up a highly focus SWAT teams, each of them have one specific mission
Brainstorming approach
gather members to open discussion
small in group, make more focus
game designer can mull around the ideas, either accept or decline the ideas

When I was in my first year of veterinary technician school, our very first project was to spend 4 weeks at a veterinary facility. It could be a hospital, clinic, whatever. The only limitations we had in regards to our choice was a short list of hospitals that weren’t accepting people observing. We had a list of things that we needed to observe and have someone from the facility sign off saying we saw the tasks being completed, and then we would be required to turn in the sheet for a grade. I chose a place within walking distance to the apartment complex where I lived so I didn’t have to worry about driving. It was a relatively small 24-hour hospital, which meant I would be able to get some “after-hours” emergency experience. I was extremely excited about this and eagerly counted down the days until I would be able to see what it was really like to work in an emergency room.
My first and only emergency room observation shift was from 9 pm to 11 pm on a Friday. This was the last day I had to complete for my observation project, and I was determined to think that the person who scheduled me had saved the best for last. Ironically, I don’t remember much about that night. In fact, only one case stands out to me...
One of the receptionists came back to find the two technicians that were working the night shift at the hospital at around 9:15 pm. The technicians, however, were busy with another patient, so the receptionist turned to me and asked me to pass along a message. I nervously agreed, and she told me that a dog was on the way. His name was George, and he was a 16-year-old male neutered Blue Ticked Coonhound. Earlier that evening, his owner got home from work and was giving him a bath. She had his hind end under the faucet when she noticed the water was red, so she called the hospital and said she was on her way. The receptionist told me she didn’t really know whether it was a case of bloody diarrhea or an injury, but to pass along the patient information to the technicians when they were ready. I agreed, and silently repeated all of the information in my head until I could finally tell the person I was shadowing.
When George came in, he did so with his owner carrying him in a thick comforter. His owner was a heavier woman with brown shoulder-length hair. She couldn’t have been too much older than mid- to late-40s. In contrast, George looked like someone had taken the skeleton of a dog and stretched his skin over it. The muscles on the top of his head were wasted away, and I was startled by how bad he looked. Later, I would find out that he looked this way because he was on prednisone (a steroid). In dogs, prednisone can cause muscle wasting and make your dog look like you never feed it, even if they have no issues with their appetite.
I could see how much this owner loved her dog-- she carried him everywhere, and when she finally entered the exam room, she placed him and his comforter ever so carefully on the floor beside her. We got a brief history, and then we took him back into the treatment area so the doctor could do her exam. The doctor was a very sweet woman who clearly cared deeply about her job, and she was very tender with George as she looked him over. Because George was away from his comforter, we could get a better view of his severe muscle wasting. On one of his shoulder blades, there was a cut so deep, I could see the muscle beneath the skin. The owner had mentioned that she didn’t notice that cut before she had left for work that day, but it was there when she came back. She guessed he may have fallen against the coffee table and injured himself.
This was the only injury I remember clearly because I was with the doctor when she went back into the exam room. Because George had been on prednisone and was still taking it, his body was unlikely to heal properly from a wound this deep. He was susceptible to infection, and his vital signs showed he was in a lot of pain. He was mentally inappropriate, minimally responsive to anything we did to or around him. All of these things were concerning, and it was time to have a conversation about his quality of life. The veterinarian mentioned that she also found many bed sores on George, to which the owner looked dismayed. She said she turned him every 4-6 hours to try and prevent that, and she only lays him on very soft bedding. The veterinarian nodded and told her that sometimes, bed sores can still appear.
There was a silence that stretched for multiple heartbeats before George’s mom finally choked out a question. “Do you think it’s... Cruel to keep him alive any longer?”
I had been standing in the corner, my head bowed until this question came up. I had to admit, it was a good one. I flicked my gaze to the veterinarian to see what she would come up with. She took a deep breath and quietly said, “You know what’s best for George. I do think it is worth considering humane euthanasia given the state of his illness. But I can’t make the decision for you.”
Before the words were even out of her mouth, the woman burst into tears. “Oh, George,” she moved to the floor with him and embraced him, sobs racking her body. The vet told her to take all the time she needed to make a decision and said that no matter what, George would need an intravenous catheter. If she decided to try and treat with preemptive antibiotics, a catheter would be beneficial, and if she decided to euthanize... An IV catheter is the best way to make sure the process is smooth. The woman couldn’t speak but just nodded.
I remember we gave her about 10 minutes alone with George before going back to ask if she was ready for us to place his catheter. She consented, saying her daughter and husband were on the way. We took George back to the treatment area to try and place a catheter in his old man veins. It was difficult because he was pretty dehydrated, but eventually, a skilled technician was able to place a patent catheter. She secured it and asked me to keep George company until she was able to carry him back to the exam room.
He was laying on a table in the treatment area near the kennels. Every now and then, a patient would bark and startle him. I remember scratching his ears and talking softly to him, saying things like, “I bet you were so handsome when you were younger. You still are, but you must have been quite the looker in your hayday” and “Don’t mind that dog back there. Puppies these days, you know?” I wanted him to feel less alone away from his person, and I wanted to make him as calm as I could while we waited for his fate to be decided. He seemed so sad, in so much pain. As horrible as it sounds, I wanted him to be put to sleep because I could see how much he was suffering. When I leaned in to speak to him, I could pick up the strong scent of infection seeping from his fur. It made me a bit nauseous.
It was about 10 minutes later when the doctor came back into the treatment area. Apparently, while I was talking to George, the woman’s daughter came and caused a scene in the exam room. She was yelling at her mother “How could you even consider killing him?! That goes against everything we believe in!” and she just... Left. Sometimes, when we’re too close to our loved ones, we can’t see when it’s time to let them go; and it’s not anyone’s fault, it just... Happens. George had lived 16 long, happy years, and he seemed to have given up that night. And euthanizing him was a kindness we could offer him. If they took him home, the chances were very good that he would just waste away and get a terrible infection that would kill him only after days of agony. Or, we could sedate him and give him medication through his catheter to stop his heart. I know which of those choices I would prefer for myself.
After her daughter left, George’s owner consented to euthanasia. She asked only that she and her husband be present, and he was on his way now. We placed George on his comforter in the middle of the exam room and gave them privacy while we waited. Meanwhile, we got everything we needed. Syringes, needles to pull up the Propofol to sedate him and the Euthosol to stop his heart, and saline to flush the line afterward. I studied both syringes. The Propofol was a milky white anesthetic-- I remember it being used on me when I had to be sedated for procedures. In this case, we would be using it to coax George into a deep sleep so that we could reduce the chance of what we call “agonal breathing”.
To put it simply, agonal breathing is basically when a creature’s heart has stopped, and their brain hasn’t registered it, yet. So their body will take in short, sudden gasps to try and oxygenate the brain, even though the creature is dead. As you can imagine, this is a very distressing thing for someone who is losing a loved one to see. Sedating a patient with Propofol or another sedative/anesthetic before giving the euthanasia solution helps reduce this risk. Mind you, it can still happen, but it happens less often. The Euthasol was a thick, bright pink solution. Such a happy color for something so deadly.
The husband arrived, and finally, it was time. I was allowed in the room, but I stayed close to the door and made as little movement as possible so I didn’t disturb the grieving family. The veterinarian explained the euthanasia process to George’s owners and made sure the IV catheter was still working before she began the process. As she pushed the Propofol, the dad spoke through his tears.
“You’re going to see your mom, George. She’s waiting for you with your brothers and sisters.”
The mom chimed in, “And you’ll be young again. And you’ll be in no pain.”
Such beautiful words. My breath caught in my throat as I saw George’s eyes droop, but they did not close. His breathing slowed but did not stop. Then it was time to push the Euthasol. In a moment that was both too long and too quick, his chest stopped rising. The vet took her stethoscope and placed it over his heart to listen for a sound, and she placed a hand over the woman’s before she said the words:
“He’s gone.”
We gave them more time with George’s body, and I followed the veterinarian out of the room without a word. Her eyes were glistening with tears, and she excused herself. It was that night that I learned that it was okay to take a moment when you need it, and it’s okay to grieve.
When we took George back to the treatment area for his aftercare, I learned how to prepare a patient for cremation and how to make my first clay pawprint. It was an important lesson, and I will always remember it. By the time I was done, it was 11:20 pm. I walked outside to the parking lot, where my mother insisted on picking me up (she didn’t want me walking home so late in the area we lived in). I told her about my first euthanasia, and she asked me what the owner looked like. I told her, and she became quiet. When she spoke again, she said that George’s owner stayed in the car staring at nothing for a very, very long time before driving off.
I will always remember George and his family, both for their beautiful words and for the fact that George was the very first euthanasia I have witnessed. I hope they know that they did the right thing for him, even though it was difficult. And I believe he will be waiting for them on the other side.

                                                                              Michael Bench, MEP GCERT
                                               `
 1.Equipment.
             Materials
Pollen and air particle identification system
           Vacu- pipette sample auto distributor.
Remote microscope photography/videography and sample purge.
           Remote tissue biopsy darts
           Vital signs registry implant
           Walk thru 2door Airlock
 Discussion
Each interaction with exogenous material will be recorded from each perspective of active crew. Staff showing signs of distress will have video tabulated and assembled as to build an evidence log of their symptoms. When a staff does collect  exogenous materials they will be disassembled in the survey craft. The exploratory craft, quarantine cellblock, and walk thru airlocks will have redundant lab materials
If lifeforms were found, a donor will be selected in capture or free range to be shot with a biopsy dart. The biopsy dart will be retracted by a strong magnet on a flight drone. If a small study station will be constructed on the planet, all life forms will be mandated to receive an RFID chip.
Disassembling samples will be done by an automated arm/laser assembly. Inactive samples will be put under microscope and saved at 500k dpi. The samples themselves might be stored or expelled. Active samples colonies such as lake water, exogenous plant cells, alien blood will be put in a petri dish. The petridish will be fed into a Vacu-Pipette Auto- Distributor (VPAD).
The role of VPAD is to separate all similar life forms into individual andcataloged containers. Additionally, groups of organism types will be divided into multiple combinations. If there are 4 varieties of organism in a sample, VPAD will choose among organism A,B,C,D and put concentrations of only organism A&D,C&B,A&C,B&D,A&B,C&D together. Changes in behavior and sample chemistry will be recorded. If a sample containing all organisms is docile, separating them might trigger one organism's wastes to activate anotherorganism's protective defenses. Smaller concentrations or symbiotic relationships might not distinguish one organism's metabolic activity without the accumulation  of biproducts . Microclimates in an (aquatic) environment must be considered.
Pollen and airparticle identification should be completed in the Pre-Survey and Survey phases. All exploratory crew must wear helmets even when the atmosphere is reported breathable. Crew will accomplish only tasks on the schedule and not venture into open ended tours.  These are the pre survey , and survey craft roles. Inclusive of Vacupipette and living air particles; all samples will be recorded in various tests for their reactivity and then ejected. No living organism must board a rescue craft outside the atmosphere.
  2.Ship Design
           Airlocks:
                       Airlocks are of two types:
                                   Hull Edge
                                   Low level Central Walkthru:
Hull edge airlocks are well documented in science fiction movies they allow exit into space or docking to larger stations or to home planet space/ airports/ hangers.
Low Level Central WalkThru Airlocks are located on the lowest level of  a spacecraft. When in inactive position, staff/crew may walk through the      airlock and the two sets of doors on each side of the airlock. The airlock is connected to an arm on its roof. When activated, the airlock will close one    or both door pairs sealing the ship air away from its own. The Airlock may be used to capture free roaming contaminations or hostile piracy constituents. When the airlock is sealed on both sides; with the hostile agent trapped inside; the connect arm lowers the airlock out of the hull of  the ship, rotates 90degrees horizontally, and its contents are set free to freeze in the void of space.   The arm may also opt to release the airlock, remaining sealed, as to be picked up at another time. A beacon will be activated. View ports or cameras will enable passing ships to see its contents per  'tune in' signal
              Capture drones
             Capture Equipment
             Region Locks.
The most famous scene of an alien serpent bursting out of  a crew's chest cavity is Ridley Scott's 1979 Alien movie. The contamination  that resulted could have easily be stopped if the crew knew to seal off the dining hall from the remainder of the ship. Ducts and electric shafts were also far too numerous and far too available to floor level. A crew must be ready at all times to seal a region of ship if a contamination occurs. If the first officer is injured, the second officer hits a single button offered in redundancy all around the room. If the second officer is injured, the third officer or those nearest the region lock button should know without instruction to seal the area.
At such time, the crew take no delay to abandon the victim and    immediately inoculate the threat. In times of greater technology, a  surgical bot on a track could enter the area, contain both victim and parasite and attend to both in an airlock. At this time we have technology that  could sent a "Roomba-type" floor robot (of larger stature) to corner the alien and sweep it up.
Staff confidence in  handling aggressive creatures like Brown snake, Philippine Cobra, and Tiger snake is mandatory. At this time  technology also exists for realistic simulations and materials to resist envenomation. Spiders and snakes are among the most feared creatures so similarly constructed creatures off  planet are likely to cause anxiety  that impairs optimal problem solving performance, If it has a mouth: duct tape it shut. If it has a stinger, chop it off. Materials like Kevlar could be fashioned in multiple layer gloves. Crew drills on parasite capture are necessary all year long.
             Contagion recovery Team Drones.
Not all disasters and infestations can be forseen. For creatures smaller than 7ft tall/long, a drone team of a containment bot and a capture bot are piloted by the staff through the ship. Unless there is some reason the creature cannot be damaged, determine its source of intelligence and "crush its head". The capture bot will have a small profile to fit into any duct work yet heavy enough not to be offset by a thrashing hostile creature. On an easy schedule capture the capture bot grasps the creature at the front and rear, gives it a good crush and places it in the containment bot. A containment bot will self seal and report promptly to the nearest  hull airlock. The containment bot will disengage from its container, exit the airlock and flush. Once the operational plan is complete the containment bot will furnish the crew with an uploaded analysis of the creature's goop
On a difficult capture of a creature, the capture bot will alert the server it intends to 'bolt down the contamination". Capture bots will one at a time clamp onto the creature, exit their bases from the area. The ship's computer will initiate a strong magnetic pulse specific to the capture bot limbs that draw the 'intrusive species' to a particular wall. A larger capture bot will enter the area, seal itself against the wall around the intruder. The main computer will allow the wall skin to detach with the capture bot. and the entirety of bot, wall and intruder will report to the nearest hull airlock. The airlock will open, the creature will be released, the wall will be magnetically retrieved ,and the system reset.
I find the magnetic apprehension and  unmanned vessels to be applicable methods of containment also on Earth bases. If the samples are breaching containment and  of air circulation risk, its vessel may be insulated inside a magnetically active liquid metal bath/ nano electroplating to confine its movement. Should the species not be able of electroplating, it will certainly be electrocuted.
3.Pre-Survey, Surveillance, and Exploration of Unexplored Planets
Craft with the express purpose of rescue and investigation of distress signals may respond to unknown distress signals. All other craft will be forbidden predisposing ill suited missions from extraneous risks they were not designed for.  In the case a rescue craft is met with a rescue signal, they must proceed first as a military envoy, second as an ambulation team, and thirdly as an exploratory survey. If crew attempt to override mission roles they will be stripped of rank and apprehended/tranquilized/executed if furthering their effort.
 PRESURVEY:
If the planet or region has never been explored, sample drones aboard an unmanned craft will be piloted to the surface.  Such delivery craft should be temporary and expendable. The sample drones may eject from its delivery ship when low enough in the atmosphere.
Roles: 1;Video collection and identification of repeated types
of species, vegetation, rock types and general formal
                          composition of the landing areas.
2.Species evaluation: air evaluation, pollen filter collection,
pollen microbe sample tubules with human, fish, aviary , viral
and bacteria samples as to test reactivity. Species evaluation
drones should be of hovering and terrestrial  motion as to
purposely disturb the environment so passive
                        characters  can be triggered.
3.Rescue region survey. A particular unmanned craft seeks the
feature of the exploration and suitable region to land a craft if
                           necessary.
SURVEY
An unmanned craft departs the ship and sets down upon the planet. In the time from presurvey to survey phases new forms of life expose themselves or the presurvey mission was attacked, the unmanned ship will be monitoring the ground for nefarious characters with visual, thermal and other sensors. The unmanned  survey craft will be weaponized.  The role of the weaponized function is to clear  hostile natives from the area of expected touch down or extraction.
A rescue attempt will rely on a hover drone to find the crew members and land the survey ship as nearby as possible in a coordinated fashion. If the beacon is found to be a hoax, an addition explosives drone type will set charges and demolish the signal source.
Should rescued persons be able to board the survey craft, their containment will be in a fixed region of the craft that docks outside the main vessel and deposites the containment vessel to a quarantine area separate from the ship. It is the crews duty among the rescued to assure injured persons are put on the stretcher for medlab. Elsewise a terrestrial drone will do such labors. If the rescue crew is combative, they will be tranquilized and immediately set in hypersleep in the  trailing quarantine "cellblock".   People aboard the quarantine cellblock will have no physical contact with the rescue crew. Each will be asked report to a hypersleep tube to be individually interviewed.
  EXPLORATION
Retreat policies from hostile inhabited planets
In a case of immediate retraction from an area, an injured crew  member            may only be retrieved if movement is TOWARD the rescue craft. Undue            delay predisposes other crew to contamination, injury or death.Staff are forbidden to rescue another crew member if the injury is other  than  physical and contained inside the suit.
Rescue of Victims by unmanned craft
A victim on a planet surface is to retrieved by a drone or craft isolating their body and the containment cell of their body from the pilot. The containment cell will have an automated surgical station and care unit to  initiate first aid and contain any unknown organisms. The medlab must be activated  and sealed. A sealed medlab may not be opened earlier than 6 hours.
Each medlab will have two sections and be ejectable from the exploration and survey vessels. Should more members of the crew be   injured, the medlab will seal the first victim in stasis, seal the entry to the entire facility, and open the inner medlab door so they can be treated. The capacity for three patients should be alotted. The only time the medlab will not open for additional patients beyond 1 is that contagion is  loose or airborne.
Rescue of Casualties by unmanned craft
A death of crew shall be deemed an immediate contagionThey will be                  frozen immediately in a containment tube and dissected in the                            quarantine cellblock medlab by remote surgeon link.
 Quarantine Cellblocks
Quarantine Cellblocks and hulls of outer atmosphere ships shall not ever pass into foreign atmosphere space. If such an event happens, they may not return to Earth Atmosphere without thorough hull scrub and due measures effectively 'sterilizing' the hull of contaminants.
 Colonizing
On planets considered devoid of life after 4 separate surveys in a span of 150years, NASA may opt to colonize those planets with species of any type believed to flourish best in its environment. Mammals and limbed creatures would need a predatory tree of inhabitants. For this case I call the ' ancient astronaut  theory' misguided. Its infact our role to colonize a planet with our own microbes, spores, viruses, bacteria to fester an evolutionary chain to unfold.  A planet like Venus who's climate is outright hostile to mammals, may be the appropriate haven for a bacteria to benefit in pH friendly zones.
  Eco Tree
The importance of our eco tree is so vast that all movies presuming spaceships would only transport humans are foolish and self centered. The Earth's eco tree is as important to us as sapiens must be to it. Its sustainance is our important  task. The eco tree is our medicine chest. Should a ship become infested, its not  only humans gene lines that risk mutation. Preserving the eco tree will be a goal of most  all starcraft and this is why missions must not be quickly detoured for blind altruism.
I must remind all of you that after some time in space, all travelers  are a form of mutation. Radiation is always hitting them. It would not be unreasonable for adaptations toward amphibian/ reptilian protections to occur such as skin scales and hermaphrodism. The show American Dad with a character Roger is quite on point to have a gay'ish/ efeminent voice and manner. Lack of gravity could cause other vital organ systems to change in efficiency of energy. An astronaut simply returning to earth might be radiated enough to cause a mutation from procreation even if it wasn't noticed by testing. The change in his families gene line could be as invisible as an undocumented chimeric pattern.
By these statements my qualifications are many. There are application advantages for molecular biologists, chemists, and geneticists. Since there are lifeforms they have never seen nor understand physiological makeup, their expertise is rather moot except for comparisons and lexicon. I hope you will recognize my trained values in Physiology and Gender Anthropology.. In parts Psychology, have their own merited elitism among those fields named. All conditions for mitigating my qualification I call to be beneath the needs of NASA. A mission cannot be completed in tuxedos. The people that want to work it must be dependable of their own accord. As of this letter , I already have worked toward the needs and safety of our public.
