Pierre’s probably gotten a “world’s worst lay” award at some point during a bad breakup, and Bea definitely won a “Paris’s biggest whore” award in modern verse

Look I’m not saying that the raccoons are slackers, but they’re slackers. The closest was Bea being pregnant while also being a soldier’s wife on the fucking battlefield. By her own admission, that was a pretty dumb decision, and Eponine having tinnitus for the first 6 months of her life hammered in that lesson pretty well.

So I heard you went to Catholic School - Not Accepting

Yes and no. The biggest problem the have is admitting they’ve failed in the first place. They will try to save a situation no matter how hopeless it is for them - and even when they run, they don’t view it as a failure. They’ll say they were never involved, that it wasn’t important, that sort of thing, but it was never a failure if it was their fault.

TIBERIUS - How bad would things have to get between your character and their significant other before they call it quits? Oof, that’s an interesting one. One of the few things that I can defend about the raccoons is their unwavering devotion to their relationship. You gotta remember, over the length of their relationship, they’ve gone to war, lost at least one child, weathered between 2 and 5 rebellions depending on how you define the world, and each other. I genuinely believe that only death will part them, and then not for long,

CALIGULA - What is the worst thing your character has ever been accused of?

I’m going to interpret this as “the worst thing they’ve been accused of that they weren’t actually guilty of”. Pierre was once accused of a murder that was actually perpetrated by the Patron-Minette, which I will remind you he is not actually affiliated with, he just contracts with them a lot. He was found not guilty of that crime, which actually got him out of a lot that he was accused of that day in court that he had been responsible for.

As for Beatrice, she usually has actually done what she’s accused of. She doesn’t keep as public a profile as Pierre, so she doesn’t make for an easy scapegoat. I suppose she’s frequently accused of being a whore, but she’s never actually accepted money for sex. She did sugar for a long time, but you know, I’ll take what I get

📊 - How does your muse feel about the state of the world? Could it be better? Could it be worse?

They’re both the sort that call themselves realists, are probably pessimists, but have no real problems with their philosophies affecting their lives. They think the world is awful, but they also distinctly remember the revolution, so they know it can be worse. Essentially they don’t care as long as they can make out like bandits

👧 - What is your muse’s relationship like with their siblings? Who do they get along with best?

Beatrice got along very well with her sister Amelie and she hasn’t had contact with her brother Bernard since he left home when she was 17. In addition, she’s fond of her brother-in-law Brujon, which is good since they moved in with him when they left the inn to move to Paris.

Pierre never knew Margot - she died when he was one. He and Berthe hate each other pretty passionately, least of all because Berthe keeps writing him to come back to the farm like he’s supposed to. He and Josephine have a reasonably healthy relationship, if only because they don’t have to talk anymore. Every so often she sends him a Michealmas note even if he hasn’t told her where he is, and that’s about the end of it. Of course, he and Henri were very close - Henri was his role model when he was a child, between stealing, fighting, and running away from home. He almost went with him to seek out their fortunes as highwaymen, but Pierre held off until he looked old enough to join the army.

🍟 - How does your muse feel about their body? Would they change it if they could?

They’re both exceedingly vain. They both think they’re perfect tens and that they’re doing the other a service by marrying them. As much as it pains me to say this, they wouldn’t change a single thing about themselves.

💅 - How does your muse feel about gender roles? Do they conform to them, or do they play by their own rules?

It sort of depends on how you look at it. On the one hand, if you look at the Regency and Napoleonic eras as a whole, they certainly don’t conform to gender roles. On the other hand, their station has always made them beholden to other rules. Being poor to lower middle class, Beatrice being gruff and more traditionally masculine was, if not encouraged, at least expected. By the same token, Pierre has the potential to be exceedingly masculine - as much as I make fun of him, he’s cut from the same cloth as Bill Sikes - but very feminine as well. He’s a flirt when he’s luring in customers and distracting him, and I don’t think I have to bring up how he got his promotion again.

🌺 - Does your muse have a favorite flower? Why do they like it?

Pierre’s fond of Daffodils, unsurprisingly for their color - Beatrice likes roses but her favorites are nasturtiums because, to her mind, if they aren’t edible, they’re not worth keeping.
