“  I just wish I knew how to talk about it.  ” …says @thewrongsorts​ ‘ Alice Longbottom, selected from misc prompts!                   Accepting!

               “S’Okay, I’m not asking you to.”  Neville responds to his mother in a gentle tone. 

        His mother. How strange it was to be speaking to the woman he never thought he’d get the chance to speak to. Muggle or Wizard world, waking from an over a decade-long coma was taboo.  Yet here she was.  And Neville had an inkling of a suspicion that his mother felt responsible / guilty for her lack of presence in the 16 years of his life.  As if she’d wanted to be tortured.  As if she’d wanted to be put in a coma.  As if she’d wanted to be away. 

        He knew she didn’t want any of things.  And so, he couldn’t fathom why she was distressed over the fact that she couldn’t talk about any of the horrors she experienced and to why she had done it.  None of it was her fault. 

                   “As a kid I was a bit cross about it— You and dad being gone, I mean.  ‘Cos I didn’t know what was happening.  Not really, anyway.  But s’not like that anymore.”  Neville tries to life her spirits by giving her a soft smile.  “You did what you thought was best.  ‘Nd that’s all anyone can do, right?”

🥝 @familyofhunters - two very cute little beans and a big bad asshole dad, written by an incredibly creative mun. I love this gal so much, and bouncing plot and characterisation ideas back and forth is an awesome way to spend an evening with her. 10/10 would plot with 4eva. The muses are precious and she’s very good at evoking strong emotions with them.

🥝 @worth12malfoys - the mun is pretty busy at times so I don’t get to chat with them much, but when I do it’s always a treat. they’re very thoughtful and willing to discuss plot ideas and character development. I love love love their muses; their OCs are very interesting and lovable, and Neville is the most precious sweetie who I miss constantly and keep wanting to throw all my muses at.

Canon Schtuff: After finding out he was magic, Neville ran away from home and wound up in St. Mungo’s. Though Alice couldn’t really communicate with him, she still sat with him and listened to him talk about how scared he was. Augusta found him hours later curled up asleep in his mother’s arms.

Even as an adult, Neville makes a habit of visiting his parents at least every few weeks. He tells them all about his life, even if they show no sign of understanding him. It’s important that they know. Alice usually does recognize him and is excited to see him.

Coma AU: It takes Neville almost a full year to call her Mum, and it comes out by accident. Until then he has no idea what to call her (Mrs. Longbottom?? Alice??) so he just sort of avoids calling her anything at all.

Either Verse: If Neville ever has a daughter, he’s naming her Alice.
