An HC/analysis based around the very end of Jihyun’s after ending on the forgiveness route! ♥

So I’ve been somewhat thinking about this ever since I saw the ending about Jihyun and MC adopting their daughter, Lucy. At first I thought she was their biological child considering the brown hair (from MC) and blue eyes (from Jihyun), so it was surprising to hear that she was actually adopted. Regardless, I still adore her. She’s so cute and the interactions amongst them was just so light and sweet.

Though it begs the question why did they adopt instead of just conceiving themselves? They don’t exactly make it clear as to why it goes this direction, but this is just going to cover what I believe the reasons are and how it will pertain to my interpretation of Jihyun.

Now in the past I’ve expressed Jihyun is probably somewhere on the asexual spectrum. Not that he doesn’t partake in intercourse with his wife, but that he has other desires and acts of affection that are far more important to him and that are on his mind a lot more. There could also be him having some concerns when it comes to raising a baby like all of the worries he could have from the way his father was towards him as a child. Then there’s also the chance that maybe it just wasn’t possible for them (which I don’t necessarily think is the case but it’s potentially why it’s the way it is).

Overall though I feel like it’s kind of a difference to Rika’s story. Lucy is adopted and doesn’t know about her actual birth parents. But just like Jihyun’s own story it’s a place of second chances. She has a second chance at a happy family with parents that love her. They were able to find her and give her what she needs in her life and at the same time it can make Jihyun and MC happy with a child.

I’m not sure if this even makes proper sense with how I’m wording it? But I just feel like there’s more meaning behind the fact that they adopted her. Like obviously there has to be a reason because adopting a child, or even just having a child in any manner, is a massive responsibility. And I just really see it as kind of a parallel/comparison to Rika’s story, especially considering the After Ending and DLC were released at the exact same time. I don’t know if anyone would even agree with this, but this is just how I kind of interpreted this moment right after seeing it.

V plays Unti.tled Goo.se Game. He hates the idea of harassing people, even in a game, but really he loves the art style. He finds the goose rather endearing, and overall just finds it silly fun. Not only that, but it’s not really a technical game, not that he would’ve minded, but he likes how simple it is. He gets really into it!

I’ve kinda had this as an HC for awhile, but I’ve never really openly talked about it on here for Jihyun. But after talking to a friend on here about it to get their opinion on it I’m definitely more certain in my choices for this HC.

I feel like Jihyun is panromantic and falls somewhere on the asexual spectrum. I only say this because in the RFA VIP guidebook it asks them what they look for in a partner, and his answer is about having someone he can connect to. He’s not looking for specific features or the identity of another, but someone that he can relate to. Someone that understands what he means and in turn he wants to explore their world as well. He just really wants that connection aspect that goes to a really deep level because he seems to value that sort of thing.

As for him falling on the asexual side this is not me saying he’s repulsed by such intimacy. I feel like he kinda falls somewhere around he’s not one to crave such things but he’s not against it either. Like it’s not something he thinks about constantly or the first thought his mind jumps to. Rather that it’s a consensual thing or that if his significant other wants to partake in that activity he’ll be more than willing to be for it. Otherwise he just loves the non-sexual acts of intimacy and will act on those far more because he loves to show his love in various little actions.

That’s just what I’ve kinda felt for him for awhile. I’m not sure if anyone agrees, but this is just how I’ve seen him for the longest time. So I just wanted to kinda put it down on here finally since it pertains to how my portrayal of him is in those kinds of situations.

Pokémon Team Generator

Jihyun’s team

          As a trainer most of his Pokémon consist of grass types and he prefers to have them as companions rather than using them to battle. He loves traveling with them to create art whether they’re included in his works or they assist him. In dangerous situations he’s pretty quick to try and protect his companions (and in turn they’re ready to do the same for him). He also hates keeping them locked away in their Poké Balls, so with any chance he gets to have his whole team out he’s usually taking it.

Good Nomos

I’m not that surprised that the MysMe cafe has a pain de campagne sandwich for V’s meal, but the fact that they have his drink titled as “Peppermint Herbal Tea with V’s Sunny-Brilliant Aesthetic Sense” is honestly just everything. Like I already figured he liked tea, but peppermint?? I can’t say I’m surprised (cause mint suits him in every aspect asdfghjkl) but the fact that it’s his drink means that he’s gotta love it. Or that’s how I’ll take it cause that makes sense with what everyone else has. xD So that’s what I’m sticking with!

Sometime down the line after getting his eyes fixed Jihyun ends up getting prescription glasses. This especially applies to anything post-Secret Endings as his eyes at that point are very much damaged by the time he’d even attempt to undergo surgery for them. So to help put less strain on his eyes and to just in general help him out he is advised to get a pair of glasses. The same could be said post his own route, but they’re not as needed and it’s more for down the road as he gets older to help ensure his vision is still up to par as to not add pressure to them later in life.

He ends up with a couple of different pairs ranging from simple thick black square frames (his everyday working and at home pair), a pair of transition glasses (he will wear these on quick trips out/to run errands so he doesn’t have to constantly switch between his glasses), and a pair of prescription aviator sunglasses (he wears these on long sunny trips). He even has a pair of contacts but those are mostly worn on special occasions or to events he doesn’t feel like dealing with his glasses.

Oh my gosh I just thought of something that goes along with my headcanon/analysis here of Lucy!

I went back to kinda reread what I wrote, and when I got to the part about Jihyun’s worries about how he’d be as a parent because of his father towards a baby I had to stop and think. What about his mother? What if he was afraid something similar would happen to MC that happened to his mother?

His mother got into an unknown accident that caused the loss of her hearing. In turn it hurt his mother in a way by making her become distant (not entirely on her own choice) and just had events take place that maybe he’s afraid it’d be replicated. Not that he’d ever disown MC if something like that happened to her, but maybe he just fears the potential of how bad an accident could happen to her (while carrying a child) and/or if it could affect their baby in turn.

Can V ice skate?

He’s not really an ice skater. At most he can do the bare minimum of managing to casually skate around without really falling down. He can even turn so he can maneuver around a bit easier, but other than that he’s never tried anything beyond that. So he’d enjoy it! But it would be more of a casual thing and if his friends want to hang out, or for something like a date with his partner.

          “It depends on what kind of dance you’re asking about as everyone seems to have a vision of what that means in their own minds. For instance if I had a partner I could probably slow dance, but otherwise I’m not sure if I’d be that impressive. I’d probably make a fool out of myself which I don’t think anyone wants to see…including me.”
