This took a minute to think about until mochi mayhem dropped--then I got ideas haha

...........

During the events of Mochi Mayhem...you seemed remarkably unfazed by Pecharunt's "curse" spreading throughout the village, finding it more amusing than frightening.

And it's because you were no stranger to being possessed yourself.

Your first experience occurred after a Spiritomb's soul got separated and found you as a temporary host while you were exploring some ruins in Paldea (with your poor Fuecoco at the time being terrified for you).

Fortunately it wasn't an aggressive one, just a scared lonely spirit that was piloting your body around until it was reunited with the other 107 souls of that Spiritomb....which turned out to be a shiny!

In a show of gratitude, it decided to join your team--and soon you found your true calling as a ghost type trainer.

So you've picked up other ghosts throughout your journeys in Paldea, Kitakami, and BB Academy.

At some point you trusted your main team enough to allow them to possess your body.

Initially, they only did if they believed it was necessary (ie saving you from a fall or sudden Pokémon attack).

But then you decide to let them do so for pranks and such--mainly reserving those for whoever bothered your friends, while other times your friends are the hapless victims.

Exhibit A: When a BB Academy student is harassing Kieran over how he used to act, you see him getting upset and have one of your Shiny Spiritomb's souls possess you, enabling you to creep up and stare at the bully--all behind his back without him ever noticing you.

He's confused when they suddenly look terrified and run away....and then he slowly turns around, screaming a bit upon seeing your face in the likeness of a Spiritomb (like in that one episode of Journeys where Ash gets possessed by one).

You feel bad, especially after the soul leaves your body, and you promise that you'll never do that again.

Although he is grateful you saved him from that intense moment.

Exhibit B: You're hanging out with Penny at your house, watching her play some horror game on your console.

Your Gengar gets the mischievous idea to turn the lights off and possess you, creating a creepy atmosphere all around the house, making your friend paranoid of whether the sounds were coming from the game or elsewhere.

In hindsight, it sounds hilarious..but you forgot Penny doesn't fw horror movie tropes like that.

As she commands Umbreon to attack you out of pure instinct-

Only to see you and Gengar get forcibly separated and hit the ground hard.

Knock Off was no joke.

She apologizes but is a bit annoyed bc she couldn't save her progress thanks to your "prank".

Exhibit C: While Arven is giving Nemona, Penny, Kieran, and Carmine lessons on the art of sandwich crafting, you stroll over with some purple mochi, offering it as a dessert.

Obviously they decline, seeing Pecharunt literally hovering beside you and wondering if you already forgot what happened.....and are horrified when you shrug and eat one, your eyes turning purple.

Yet before anyone can fully freak out, you just laugh and start talking normally.

To make a long story short, you and the mythical 'mon came to an agreement that you'll eat the mochi it provides as long as it doesn't make you do anything harmful (like battling) or anything ridiculous (like dancing and saying "mochi" nonstop) while possessing you.

It's still mischievous at heart, of course. You'll allow it to have a little bit of fun considering its troubling past.

Exhibit D: Your Skeledirge was the first 'mon you used the Synchro Machine on after arriving to BB Academy, walking around and battling wild Pokémon in the terarium for a few good hours.

This "reverse possession", however, left some adverse effects on you even after desynchronizing...as for several days you developed a habit for singing, could taste smoke in your breath, and even your partner's little fire bird companion decided that it wanted to nestle atop your head.

You realize what a funny prank this could be.

So you pull up to the cafeteria to the "date" Drayton invited you to and freak out the rest of the Elite Four (except for Crispin who immediately realizes you own a Skeledirge and thinks you're awesome).

That also makes for a rather...awkward reunion with Kieran who thinks you've seriously gone off the deep end, and you drop the act right away.

But he's too caught up in the idea of battling you and winning to care about why tf you're possessed rn.

Some more Clavell x Sada x Turo doodles, alas I don’t have the time nor energy to do more/clean up things lol. Kinda ship it, for the drama I say! Anyway, more thoughts below:

I enjoy the thought that Turo + Sada aren’t that much younger than Clavell lol (in present day, I think of Clavell to be in his early 50s, the two profs around mid 40s), so being research buddies means being quite close, regardless of whether they were romantic or platonic. Good science buddies!!!

Clavell is the mom friend, Sada the one with a lot more spunk/energy, Turo with his dry sarcasm etc. Sada and Turo butt heads a lot, and Clavell is in the middle of it all haha. Poor him. Even if all three of them aren’t poly whatever, the thought of Clavell being close to them and Arven’s early childhood is a nice thought.

His departure from the group feels almost like a sign of the times, wherein the two other professors start obsessing much more unhealthily, and with less concern for other things. I think post the discovery of Tera Crystals, Clavell disagrees with them about continuing experiments, citing the issues of introducing foreign fauna, danger of operating a time machine, dangerous unknowns etc.I think Clavell retires from research, opting to be an Academy tutor.

Still, all this is unfair on Arven, so Clavell remains a pseudo uncle of sorts to him when he’s able. Eventually, he rises to the position of Director I suppose? Though there is that plothole of how he never knew the previous director’s cover up of school bullying... maybe he left the Academy to work somewhere else for a time or something. The timeline is murky i guess *shrug*

TLDR: I think I just enjoy the thought of three very different scientists being together, and then the dramatic breakup and tragic reunion years after haha. They’re all probably very OOC, if there’s at all enough source material to paint better pictures of their characters lol.

Julinemo Week, Day 4: Rest

Nemona lay awake in the dark, hair and limbs spread out like a snow angel, despite how dead tired she said she was when she went to bed. Her first night in Kitakami didn't go the way she expected at all, to say the least. Everybody had tried to shake off the weird vibes of that whole ordeal, but they could only play games in the community center to take their minds off of it for so long before Kieran and Carmine went home and left Nemona, Juliana, Arven, and Penny to sleep in their provided rooms.

Nemona jumped a little when she heard a quiet knocking on her door-- the kind that she'd probably only be expected to hear if she was already awake. She gingerly lifted herself back out of bed and made her way over, speeding up a bit when the knock repeated itself. She opened the door in such a way that she could slam it shut again if it was another super-creepy Pokemon…

… But it was just Juliana.

"H-hey… you having trouble sleeping too?" she whispered.

Nemona's apprehension melted away with a sigh and she stepped out from behind the door. "Yeah. You okay?"

"Not… really. Nightmare. I really didn't, um-- Can I stay in here for a bit?"

"Of course, Jules. Really didn't what?"

Juliana slowly stepped into the room properly, shaking a bit.

"You cold? C'mere." Nemona added before Juliana could answer, holding her arms open for a hug. She staggered a bit when Juliana very eagerly accepted it. "H-hey, easy, I'm still pretty sore…"

"Sorry. I just…" Juliana began, but needed a moment to slow down her breathing. "I just… I thought I lost you. I had to turn my back on you tonight, when we heard Arven and Penny were in trouble, and you kept running off… and… I really didn't think… I'd ever see you again… I thought you'd be gone forever, and… it'd be my fault…" she said, muffled by Nemona's pajamas.

"Oh, Julie, you poor thing… I'm kinda lucky for not having any idea what was goin' on tonight, huh?"

"Haha… maybe. Feels like tonight could've been a lot worse if that little pink weirdo wanted it to be. I just… I felt so powerless."

"Hey, that's the last thing I'd call you. You saved the day, didn'tcha? From what I hear, me and the others put up more of a fight than it did."

"Yeah, but I mean… it could've really hurt all of you. I mean, it fed you guys p-poison… poison we're hoping doesn't… do anything else…"

"Hey, you've got the little fella in your storage now, it's probably fine…"

"And… having to choose who to help… not knowing if I chose wrong… I'm sorry…"

"Sorry? Sorry for what?"

Juliana squeezed her tighter. "I should've picked you… I… left you… I don't deserve you… I'm--"

"You left me to help out other people we care about, Jules. C'mon. What if you'd gone chasing after me and I was fine, while they were getting hurt?"

"N-not helping…"

"Really, though! It… doesn't sound like you really had any good options, chica."

"Me and Kieran could've split up…"

"Pffft! When has that ever been the right answer in a horror movie, Jules? C'mon now."

Juliana smiled up at her and sniffled. "Yeah, okay, I guess…"

"I'm prouda you, and I know you have my back. Everything's good now! Give yourself a break for once."

"… Oh, I'm supposed to take that advice from Nemona of all people, huh?"

Nemona snorted. "Oh, callate! We both need to hear it sometimes. But yeah… I'm not chalkin' this up as you lettin' me down."

"Okay, okay…" Juliana relented, before burying her face back into the taller girl's shoulder. "Oh, Mona, I'm so glad you're okay…"

Nemona patted her back. "I'm sorry I put you through all that just 'cause I saw a free sample, heh! I coulda been helpin' you instead of the bad guy…"

A muffled sniffle. "Hehehe… yeah, better watch out for those from now on."

"And another thing, Julie…" Nemona began, as she brushed back Juliana's hair a bit. "If I DID think you did the wrong thing, we'd talk about it. It'd be okay."

"… Does that mean you do?"

"No, or I'd say that. You know I don't do that kinda double speak. On purpose."

Juliana hesitated a bit, then nodded. "Alright…"

"… Uh… you wanna sit down? My legs are killin' me." Nemona admitted sheepishly.

"Oh, sorry, yeah, sure."

Juliana released the hug, but Nemona was quick to put an arm back around her when they sat on the bed.

Nemona rolled her neck a bit. "I can't sleep either. Having missing time in my night, where I apparently did stuff I had no control over, is really… oogh… creepy…" Nemona said with a shiver.

"Yeah, I bet…"

"Like, I've suddenly got rare, super-strong Pokemon on my team now that I don't remember catching, and I used up a ton of supplies I'd been saving up…. and judging by how worn out I am, I was either dancing really hard, or ran a lap around Kitakami… I really got pushed beyond my limits, here…"

"Maybe a little of both. You were just THAT excited about going out and catching new Pokemon, I guess?"

"Guess so! Wish I'd just rode my Cyclizar instead for more of that, heh… ouch."

"Kieran said he heard rumors that, uh… the curse makes people mindlessly act on their most basic desires, or something…"

"Really? I… Oof, I don't wanna think I'd just ditch you guys the second I was let loose. I don't like what that says about me at all…"

"Hmm… yeah, yeah you're right, maybe not. Maybe Pecharunt just wanted you to be as strong of a bodyguard as you could be, and thought Kommo-o was cool?"

"Heh! A Pokemon that trains Trainers. Maybe? I'll have to get to know my new Pokemon properly tomorrow, I guess. Can't wait to have a rematch with you that I actually remember properly!"

"Yeah… and we can go on some nice new adventures together, too. I get to be the one showing you around, for a change! Even if Carmine'll probably wanna be the tour guide…"

Nemona's eyes sparkled even in the dim light. "That… sounds really nice, now that you mention it! Plus all those new Pokemon I've never caught! We'd better get to sleep so we're all energized for that, heh!" she enthused, finally laying back down. "Hopefully I can walk tomorrow…"

"True. And hopefully we can sleep now… ah, as if sleeping away from home wasn't already hard enough, right?" Juliana responded, having turned to look back at her.

"Yeahhh… seriously. I think it'll be a little easier now, though."

"Definitely."

They gazed at each other for a moment before glancing away, but then… "… Hey, Jules?"

"Yeah?"

Nemona patted the bed she was borrowing. "Do you wanna stay here tonight?"

Juliana's eyes widened, but she nodded vigorously and bounced right in next to her rival-for-life without much hesitation.

"At this point we may as well hug it out for the rest of the night, right?" Nemona joked, wrapping her up close again.

"Yeah. I knew we should've gotten three rooms, but it felt weird to share after Penny and Arven were so insistent that they wouldn't."

"Heh heh, yep! Well, it's fine, it barely cost anything 'cause everybody knows you. Especially now..."

"True. Hehehe… I probably won't have any more nightmares with you helping me fight 'em."

"Heh! And… I'll feel like I never left home if I'm in my hero's arms."

Juliana's brows shot up as she grinned with apple-red cheeks. "Wow. I-- That might be the sappiest thing you've ambushed me with yet."

"… And we weren't even in public this time!"

As the girls giggled quietly, their embrace grew warmer and closer than ever despite the night they'd had, like a campfire in uncharted territory.

"G'night, Jules."

"G'night, Mona. … Love you."

"… Love you too."

I had a friend call me out on this recently...apparently I have a type. "Moppy haired boys with trauma who love dogs and were forced to grow up too quickly."

If that doesn't describe our guy, I dunno what to tell you.

Tbh though, I don't think I'm too different from many other Arven simps? I was a little suspicious of him at first, then i beat the second titan and found out about Mabosstiff. I became invested in his story then, but the simping didn't REALLY start until that moment as the meme squad entered area zero and Arven grabs our character's waist? Oh my god I nearly died!!!!! I was absolutely lost from there. The rest of the story happened and I was utterly gobsmacked. Id fallen and didn't want to get up haha

with everything that happens IN area zero I was just so invested in our guys story and what was going to happen to him and his poor family, and I've been lost in this blorbo ever since

Gamefreak generally doesn't do a great job with characterization, and Arven doesn't have TOO much going on in terms of personality, but they've given him JUST enough to let imaginations run wild. He really is one of the best characters they've written yet, and I really hope they give him more in the dlc.

Or ideally if they could release a dating sim haha

Rika’s Wittle Review of Pokemon Violet (Spoilers ahead!!!)

I’ll go ahead and say that, aside from the atrocious framerate and occasional glitchiness, I had a blast playing this. It’s beautiful to see how far Pokemon has come in terms of immersion. With such a rich variety of Pokemon wherever you go in this vast landscape with different habitats, all interacting and exhibiting behaviors specific to their species (and even their natures!), I genuinely feel like I’m in the world of Pokemon. I love it so much >w< I quite enjoyed the three stories and the CHARACTERS. Ahhh the characteeersss I love them all so much lol

Now for the more spoilery bits in good old bulletins. These aren’t in any particular order but in general I’ll start with stuff I loved and things that were kinda eh. Let’s goooo~

There’s now a canon Pokemon character named Rika aaaayyyeee XD Feels a little weird, ngl

Unpopular opinion, but I actually love Meowscarada lol At first I was like, “Uuuggghhh of course they made it stand up” but the more I understodd what it was, the more it grew on me. She’s a jester, magician, dramatic sort of character and she’s a kitty........all things I adore lol

Arven is a precious bean who must be protected at all costs. Seriously, I adore him so much and his story was so saaaad T_T My poor baby...And then it turns out his dad not only wasn’t around but he freaking DIED.

AND YOOOOO SPEAKING OF WHICH I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. Like bro, Pokemon actually went there. At first I thought Turo was stuck in the future or something and that’s why his transmission got all wonky. BUT NAH. HOMEBOY STRAIGHT UP GOT DEAD AND UPLOADED HIS CONSCIOUSNESS INTO A ROBOT LIKE???? Every time I saw his face on the screen I was like, “Why is his face so...stiff?” Oh. That’s why. AND MY POOR BOY ARVEN.

Also that final battle was legitimately a little terrifying. I loved it haha

Miraidon is electric Toothless and I loved him and we’re best friends forever uwu

I know some people may be bummed that Team Star didn’t turn out to be a bunch of hardcore criminals. But the fact that Pokemon decided to tackle a subject as serious as bullying in school? Big, big claps. And in my opinion, it was really well done and heartfelt. By the end of game I adored Team Star and little Penny. Seeing them go back to school and bumble their way back into society, awkward, shy, but being true to themselves, was so precious. (Giacomo is literally like, “Let’s yell at everyone so they know we’re friendly” and for that I cherish him)

I’d join Team Star in a heartbeat, facts.

Penny being Cassiopeia wasn’t immediately obvious to me but as soon as she mentioned her hacking skills I went, “....Waaait a second...” Might I add that when “Clive” first showed up I physically buried my face into my hands lol

Okay and then when Clavell “revealed himself” as Cassiopeia I went, “Huh?? That...How??? Makes no sense but ok...????” And then was like “just kidding” and I just...wtf dude XD 

Can I just say I love Clavell’s character? He genuinely cares about every student with all his heart and shows compassion towards Team Star. He turned out to be such a good-hearted man who wants to do right by his students and I love that.

While I do love Nemona (what’s the girl version of a himbo? lol), I will say her character felt the least fleshed out, in my opinion. But I guess it could be all that energy conceals more subtle character traits? I liked how she mentioned that people mistunderstand her because she comes from a wealthly family and assume she was born with her battle prowess. When if fact, she’s just super passionate about battling and so became really good at it. Wish the game had leaned a little more into that but Nemona still cool lol Paradox Pokemon are gonna destroy the world and she’s just like, “ Can battle? :D”

While I loved Path of Legends and Starfall Street, Victory Road was the most....meh storyline for me lol There wasn’t much to it, really. And the Elite Four and Geeta were so easy. After the nightmare that was the BDSP League I was fearing for the worst but they were about as easy as the Kalos League. But that’s overall neither here nor there for me.

Picnics were fun but I wish I could get closer to my Pokemon like I could in SWSD and pet them like the Switch has a touchscreen whyyyy T__T Or just use the same format as the washing bit but with a hand :(

Welp, following Pokemon didn’t improve all that much rip Same issue of some Pokemon just being too dang slow. Or too dang fast to the point that they look unnatural cause they keep slowing down and speeding up so rapidly. I always have to ride Neon (my Miraidon) when I let Jellica (my Meowscarada) out cause otherwise she’s just constantly startin’ and stoppin’. Still a lovely feature but I just wish it was better. The Pokemons’ mannerisms are still adorable tho <3

This game removed a lot of little shortcuts (like using items on Pokemon, certain buttons when using the Boxes, switching Pokemon around, etc.) and I gotta say, not a fan lol

Customizatiooooon. I get it, we’re students. BUT WHY DOES PENNY GET TO WEAR HER LITTLE CUTE FIT HMMMMM?????

Socks, gloves, and shoes are fine, I suppose...I just wish there were more ways to customize the uniform at least. It would be cool if the school sold jackets, sweaters, t-shirts, skirts, scarves, ties, etc. Freaking Atticus’ little compadre bought NINJA OUTFITS from the school store. Where’s my ninja outfit huh????

Also Clavell said we shouldn’t let our Pokemon out inside the school and then there are Pokemon in the school at all times for the entire game lol Plus Arven, Nemona, and Penny get to have their Pokemon out in their rooms so why can’t I??? D:<

Side note MC, Arven, Nemona, and Penny gotta be my favorite Pokemon friend group besides the SWSD squad ^^ (That shot of all of us climbing aboard Miraidon before plummeting into the Crater was so precious holy Arceus my fwieeeends)

Sad to say that a lot of the Pokemon designs this gen weren’t really my taste. It was hard for me to put together a Paldean team cause I just...didn’t like how so many of them looked lol

Grusha has no right being that pretty. Also poor thing ;__; Would’ve loved to know more about him.

All the Gym Leaders were so much fun. Wish we could battle them over and over like in BDSP.

History Class was my fav because looore.

I actually riverted back to a student mentality for a bit playing lol I was like, “M’kay, I’ll take my level 2 classes, explore, then move on to my level 3 classes before dark. Lemme fight this Gym and then I’ll take my midterms. What’s that, I gotta go the Great Crater and finish the story? I should finish my finals and graduate first.” Lol

I mean yeah, the framerate is awful but we all know this probably lol The game’s performance ain’t it, sis. Like I said, this would probably be my favorite Pokemon game to date if it ran the way it should.

Looking forward to patches and whatever new updates and shenanigans will ensue in the DLC hehehe

Those are the biggest things, me guesses. Loving the game and will definitely keep playing it~

warning: the following contains spoilers for pokémon scarlet/violet

wheeeew! okay, so after a good rest, i’m able to talk about what went on with the titan from yesterday!

this big guy is the lurking steel titan, orthworm! i’m sure plenty of you have seen a normal sized orthworm, but this was my first encounter with this pokémon! as absolutely astounding as it was in size, it was sort of cute! orthworm was not the fighting sort - when he saw aether and i, he hurried to burrow under the ground. with our legs still aching, we opted to chase him down on miraidon! orthworm would peek his head out occasionally, and we essentially were playing a large scale version of whack-a-diglet. this would’ve been fun if we weren’t so tired, i think. after we ended up cornering the behemoth, we sent out reaper and blank, who defeated it easily! after that, it tunneled through solid stone… and the chase began again.

after we chased it down again, it opened a passage - another cave, just like the one the titan klawf had. and orthworm reaches inside and pulls out one of the herba mystica! a fight would be rough on us and our pokémon, especially from our lack of rest, but luckily, arven appears to help out! he’s brought a toedscool with him this time, who i still don’t know the name of.

reaper was noticeably worn out, so i gave him a rest and switched him out with gwaine instead! between our three pokémon, this giant worm was no match for us, and actually was defeated pretty easily, despite the herba mystica that it ate! when it was tired of fighting, it quickly burrowed underground to retreat. we took that as our chance, with arven’s direction, to take the herb before it came back. so, into the cave we went.

according to arven, this is the salty herba mystica! it has amazing properties that help promote healing, just like the sweet variety, though i can’t remember exactly what he’d listed off, as i was very, very tired. he made some more of those awesome sandwiches for us! once again, miraidon intended to beg for our sandwiches. arven actually had made an extra one just for miraidon this time, even though he swears it wasn’t for the dragon at all! i don’t think aether or i believe him, haha.

great sandwiches again! he’s definitely some sort of sandwich chef, right? a normal person couldn’t do the magic he does! he also gave us this neat badge, which i think is pretty cool considering he makes the badges himself! miraidon also loves his sandwiches, which is both a blessing and a curse. actually, despite getting its own sandwich… miraidon actually was going to take a bite from arven’s, and he snapped at it.

his shouting was very startling! i remember almost jumping up from my seat. even miraidon scurried away, which must’ve made him feel bad, because he apologized right after. apparently, he’s been hiding something from us… and he’s decided to come clean. arven introduced us to the reason he’s hunting the herba mystica: his partner pokémon, mabosstif.

the poor thing is terribly sick. no potion or pokémon center can heal him, and arven’s only option has fallen to a myth he read about in his father’s books. apparently, if a pokémon eats from all five of the herba mystica, any ailment they have will be healed. i feel like i understand him a lot more now. he said the only thing he really cares about is his mabosstif, which brings up a few questions, like how he feels about professor turo or his other pokémon, or even any of his friends… but that aside, i think i really, genuinely understand that sentiment. my partner pokémon… my boyfriend… i would do anything for them.

the magic of the herba mystica works, too. according to arven, mabosstiff hasn’t been able to open its eyes or move for the longest time, and his paws have been cold in his paralysis. with the sandwich that arven gave him, he actually began to warm up a bit, and his eyes opened! arven is a pretty expressionate guy, and though we aren’t very close, he seems unreserved and genuine in how he feels. so, when he started jumping in celebration, followed by genuine sobbing in his joy… i knew that was real, and that was really who he is.

with the promise to continue on our search for the remaining herba mystica, we parted ways with arven for the time being. miraidon grew stronger from the sandwich it ate, now able to jump much higher than before. and we received a call from professor turo confirming as much, once again showing how much he cares for miraidon and trusts we can care for it.

and… that’s a wrap! time to go and rest up for a couple of days! not really, but i really feel like we should, haha!

Chapter 13: Salado

Silver and Blaze defeat the Lurking Steel Titan, and Arven's Mabosstiff heals a bit more, then the two find that the Segin Squad is on fire!

Blaze and Silver trekked through the mines of East Province Area Three. The mines were dusty, so they wore scarves over their faces, though Blaze's was a bit burnt.

"How much longer?" Silver asked. He coughed a few times and fanned the air in front of his face.

"Are you okay?" Blaze asked.

"The cave air is so dusty, there's Salandits living here, I have asthma, your scarf's smoking–" Silver coughed for a few more seconds. "and I wore my binder– Hack! -too much yesterday..."

Blaze sighed. "Oof, that sucks. Good thing you're not wearing it today."

"Wish I was... my dysphoria's off the charts." Silver let out a painful wheeze and breathing got more difficult, so they took a break from walking, used their inhaler, and wiped some sweat from their forehead. "Whew, I'm tired. Can't we ride Miraidon?"

"It'll get too dusty if we do." Blaze explained.

Silver nodded. "Okay... well, Charlie, I choose you!"

Charlie bowed in front of the hedgehog and the thought "What is your wish?" appeared in Silver's brain.

If you wouldn't mind, can you carry me? Silver thought.

Charlie nodded and psychokinetically picked his Trainer up, then cradled them in his arms. Silver folded their arms across their chest and cringed a bit.

"I want my binder..." He moaned quietly.

The teens made it out of the tunnel they were in and found themselves near Zapapico. Silver shook the dust from his scarf and took a sip of water from a bottle.

"Whew, my throat feels much better." He chuckled. "Didn't wanna drink in the cave and accidentally inhale any dust."

"Haha, wish I had waited like you." Blaze giggled. She coughed and burned what was left of her scarf away. "Dammit, I liked that scarf... I hate being a Pyrokinetic sometimes..."

Silver laughed and took another sip of water. "I'll buy you another one, okay?"

Blaze blushed and smiled and the teens continued their adventure. They eventually made their way to a giant Orthworm and Arven called Silver.

"Did you find the Titan?" He asked.

"Yep." Silver said. "Though it was hard to get to since the mines were so dusty."

"I'm in a mine right now and know exactly what you mean." Arven chuckled. He sneezed, then sniffled and wiped his nose.

"Bless you." Blaze giggled.

"Thanks. I'll leave the Titan to you while I find my way out." Arven hung up.

The giant Orthworm roared and attacked the teens, so Blaze sent out Scorch.

"Okay, Charlie, you're up!" Silver shouted cheerfully. He floated out of Charlie's arms and landed next to Blaze.

"Use Flame Charge on Charlie!" Blaze shouted.

"But–" Silver exclaimed. To his surprise, Charlie wasn't hurt. His fire burned brighter and he let out a battle cry. "Right, Flash Fire."

"They go together like peanut butter and jelly." Blaze said.

"Or like me and you." Silver added.

"What?" Blaze chuckled.

"N-nothing..." Silver blushed and turned away. He thought Blaze was cute, but didn't know if she felt the same. "Ahem... Charlie, Flamethrower!"

Charlie blasted the Titan with a Flamethrower and it screeched and burrowed away, creating a huge dust cloud that choked the teens and the Armor-Edge duo. Silver was wearing his scarf, which helped to block the dust, but it still made breathing more difficult. It started to rain and the dust cloud dissipated.

"Hey, Silver– Cough! ...you okay?" Blaze asked.

"Y-yeah..." He answered. "My scarf helped a lot."

Blaze smiled. "Let's rest up for a bit before we chase the Titan."

Silver coughed and fanned the air in front of his face. "Good idea." He looked at the newly formed tunnel. "Plus, look how dusty that tunnel is."

"Yeah, Scorch and I are not ready to walk through there."

"Neither are Charlie and I." Silver muttered.

The teens and their Pokémon rested for a few minutes, then followed the Titan Orthworm. Silver was right: it was really dusty. On the other side of the new tunnel, Arven waited for the teens.

"What took so long?" He asked.

The cat sneezed rather cutely and some small embers flickered from her nose. "It was pretty dusty..." She sneezed again, and more embers flickered.

"Heh, cute." Silver chuckled. He sneezed and made Arven float.

"H-hey! Put me down!"

Silver was about to gently set Arven down when they coughed and abruptly dropped him.

"Oof! Silver!"

"Sorry. Really dusty." The hedgehog apologized. They sniffled and wiped their nose, then let out a rather cute sneeze.

Arven got up, then grabbed a Pokéball.

"Let's kick some Titan butt!" Silver exclaimed. He coughed a few times and took a sip of water. "Ow, my throat still hurts..."

"You okay, bud?" Arven asked.

Silver nodded.

"Good. Let's do thi–"

The Titan smashed the wall and formed another dust cloud, but luckily it was raining, so it dissipated fast. Then the Titan ate a glowing white plant from the cavern and glowed white, then roared.

"Okay, Tentashroom!" Arven shouted. He sent out a Toedscool. "I choose you!"

Charlie and Scorch were already out, so they ran to the battle next to each other.

"Use Flame Charge on Charlie!" Blaze shouted.

Charlie's firepower increased. Silver nodded, and Charlie nodded back, then used Flamethrower. It was raining, but he got a lucky burn, so Tentashroom's Hex did big damage. The Titan used Iron Tail on Tentashroom, who took it rather well.

Another Flamethrower from Charlie defeated the Titan. The teens rushed in and found a really salty herb.

"The Salty Herba Mystica. Great for promoting health." Arven explained.

"Also dries your mouth out real fast." Silver muttered. They let out a few dry, raspy coughs, then spoke again. "Speaking of... my throat's really dry." They took a sip of water and smiled. "Much better."

"Welp, what are we waiting for?" The wolf asked. He made four sandwiches and stuck some silver picks through the center.

Silver took a big bite of his sandwich, but almost choked on the sheer saltiness. He made a face while he chewed and reached for his water bottle. Blaze reacted the same, though she actually did choke. Arven, Duke, and Miraidon didn't seem bothered by how salty the sandwich was.

While Blaze was busy coughing out flames and soot, Arven checked on his Mabosstiff. He thought he heard Duke woof, but Blaze was kind of loud. Eventually, she got the charred sandwich bit out and Arven was able to more clearly hear Duke woof.

"D-Duke..." He whispered. Tears formed in his eyes and he smiled and hugged the huge dog.

"Bleh, that hurt..." Blaze groaned. They coughed out the rest of the ash and fanned the air in front of their face, then took a sip of water.

"Are you okay?" Silver asked his friend.

"Augh, yeah, but–" She heard Duke bark and smiled. "Arven, did you hear him bark?"

"Yeah, while you were coughing." He chuckled. "Too salty?"

"Heh, yeah..." Blaze giggled. "Completely dried out my throat." She took another sip of water.

Silver and Blaze tried to finish their sandwiches, but the strength of the salt was too strong, both in flavor and dryness.

"You don't have to eat it if you don't like it." Arven chuckled. "I won't be offended."

"Thanks." Silver spoke. He coughed a bit from the salty saliva that trickled down his throat. "I like salt, but this is a bit much!"

Blaze set her sandwich down and petted Duke. "Your Mabosstiff means a lot to you, huh?"

"Duke was the only friend I had as a small child. I spent my first 13 years alone, with only him by my side." Arven admitted. "My father never spent time with me, and my mother left before I could remember."

Silver reflected on his first 13 years. He didn't remember his parents. All he remembered was the struggle to survive. He had only had his sibling Gold, and their late mentors, Edmund and Mogul, who died when the kids were only seven. He missed them so much. Some tears threatened to burst from his eyes and he sighed.

"I've met him in person. Well, technically I didn't, but..." They started.

Arven stared at him with suspicion for a few seconds. "What do you mean?"

Silver didn't feel like Arven was ready to know the truth about his father, considering how alone Arven was his whole life and how he was going through stress involving Duke's health. "I-i-it's nothing. Forget I said anything. I just... I lost my birth parents and only had one friend for almost my whole life, too."

Arven smiled. "It's nice to know I'm not alone." He blushed a bit and turned away. "Ahem, not that I'm glad you lost your parents."

Silver smiled. He remembered telling Blaze nearly the same thing when he found out they were scared of water. He and Arven were so similar. "I know, Arv."

Arven blushed. What was that feeling? Love? He couldn't have a crush on Silver, no way!

The teens finished their conversation and Professor Turo called the hedgehog.

"Hola, Silver. I detected a power surge in Miraidon." He said.

"We had a Salty Herba Mystica and Blaze choked on her sandwich!" Silver giggled. Blaze blushed and chuckled a bit.

"You didn't have to say that..." They muttered.

"I take it from your mood she's okay? In any case, Miraidon should be able to jump higher." Turo spoke. "Keep searching for the Herba Mystica and restoring Miraidon's strength."

Silver smiled and hung up, then the teens decided to check their map.

"Okay, so there's a Team Star base nearby." The hedgehog muttered.

"It's Poison-Type, and your lungs have been under a lot of stress these past few days, plus you have asthma. Taking on the Navi Base sounds like a death sentence." Blaze said before letting out a few fiery coughs. "My lungs have been under a lot of stress too. I'll do it another day."

"I'll be fine! I have Psychic-Types!" Silver argued.

"I'm dismantling the Team Star base later, alone. Why don't we do some training? The next Gym is a Water-Type Gym and I think Catnip could use some training." Blaze suggested. "Let's go to the West Province near Cascarrafa."

"Sounds good." Silver smiled.

The teens took a taxi to Cascarrafa, but the Team Star Segin Squad looked to be on fire.

"Oh no, I hope Giacomo's alright..." Silver muttered.

"We have to save him!" Blaze exclaimed. They noticed that Silver looked absolutely terrified and smiled gently. "Hey. You can do this."

Silver remembered fighting off a herd of Varoom and a herd of Slugma in his childhood and smiled. "Nobody should have to live in fire and smog like I did."

The teens were about to go help Giacomo when Silver coughed and wheezed from the smoke. Blaze brought him into a store to recover, then bought a water bottle for him.

"Do you want to stay in a hotel while I take care of it?" She asked.

Her friend nodded, so after spending a few minutes recovering, they set out for a hotel.

Who are your favorite characters from Scarlet and Violet?

Nemona is very likeable. I think she's the best rival because she a cool big sis and I love those sorts of characters. Director Clavell gets his hands dirty and is a quirky character. Also a reasonable authority figure. Arven is sympathetic and so is his poor Mabostiff. When it comes to the gym leaders, Ryme and Iono are my faves. Iono is pretty funny and has a quirky design whilst Ryme is super cool. Even her gym leader title is funny haha "MC of RIP" and is cool in the JP version as it's "ソウルフルビート" ("Soulful Beat")

Could I maybe get a Hisuian!Reader who came to Paldea through a space time rift? They remember everything, they still have all their old Pokemon, they like to share stories of their adventures (anything from taking on Volo to "Oh yeah, I caught this alpha garchomp after a half-hour standoff, here's her gigaton ball lol."), they've got little scars here and there from accidentally standing too close to Pokemon attacks or taking fall damage, and they give descendants of their Hisuian Pokemon to their blueberry friends (BBE4, Carmine, and Kieran) during their trades. To make things even more interesting, I wonder what that reader would think about bloodmoon ursaluna, Perrin, and modern Sinnoh - seeing their dear friend Adaman in someone alive today and seeing just how much things have changed over the years

Paldea (Arven, Penny, Nemona)

After finishing your mission in Hisui, you decided to confront Arceus, being satisfied with everything you've done for the Survey Corps and the good people of Jubilife Village.

You fully finished the pokedex, fulfilling Professor Laventon's dreams, and were ready to return home.

After some reluctance, Arceus agreed and ensured you wouldn't lose any of your memories, as you didn't want all your feats in Hisui become lost to history.

It warned you that you'll never get to see Rei/Akari, Professor Laventon, the Wardens...or anyone else ever again.

But you've said your goodbyes and were ready to go back.

One warp through a space-time rift later, you were dropped off in Paldea-

Right where Arven, Penny, and Nemona were discussing whether to call off the search for you or not.

As it turns out, you've been missing for months, not long after the Area Zero adventure, and so it's a rather tearful reunion when they realize the person in the old fashioned clothing was you.

You looked tired, scarred, battle-hardened...and yet you smiled as you joked about being "back from the past".

Since then, easing back into modern life was..trickier than you expected.

You still had the habit of crafting pokeballs and potions as you were taught, rather than spend money buying them in bulk (even though you had boatloads because of your champion status).

You tried getting the trio to follow your directions, but they kept fumbling with the tumblestones and didn't know where to attach the iron chunks that made up the clasps.

When you start talking about feather, wing, leaden, and gigaton pokeballs they stare at you in confusion until you realize "oh shit those are outdated".

Nemona is VERY curious about the gigaton ball, however, and so you show it to her--revealing your Alpha Garchomp branded with the "Former Alpha" mark. She got to keep her height.

"Oh yeah, she was a real feisty one. We had a half-hour standoff on a slippery ice mountain slope but I showed her who's boss haha." You laugh as you share the story of how you encountered and tamed her.

Your fellow champion now thinks you're 10x cooler for actually facing a Pokémon head-on....while poor Arven and Penny are shook(TM) and wondered how you made it back alive.

Especially when they discover your scars are from falling and vicious Pokemon attacks

Introducing your Hisuian starter to your Paldean starter was...a little awkward. One recently became a champion's Pokémon and the other faced Giratina itself.

But they eventually shake hands and become besties, becoming members of your party whenever you wanna battle Arven, Penny, or Nemona again.

You keep accidentally calling out agile/strong style in your commands (ie "Avalugg, make an Agile Avalanche!"), but your Pokémon like to pretend they still know them.

Kitakami (Perrin & Bloodmoon Ursaluna)

Returning to Kitakami felt most familiar..and quite comforting considering how traditional everything is.

Festival of the Masks came back around, and while you didn't get to spend it with Kieran nor Carmine this time...you did wind up spending it with somebody else...

Perrin, who you were drawn to after seeing her Hisuian Growlithe getting into trouble with an Arbok and trying to stand up for itself.

Reminds you of a certain late lord's son..

She expresses her thanks for rescuing her buddy, and mentions how you got there "right on time".

You just look into her eyes and see Adaman: the Diamond Clan leader, the kind man who gave you the celestica flute and came to your aid when you got exiled from the village.

He may be gone now, but time didn't allow him to be forgotten.

Because he lives on in somebody else.

Perrin gets concerned when she sees how emotional you're getting, but you just wipe your eyes and say she just reminds you of an "old friend".

When you show her your other Hisuian Pokémon, she's THRILLED and wants to take all of their pictures, delighted to have proof that these creatures existed.

That leads her to ask how you acquired them, and you start talking about your adventures in the very region she's been studying...including the fact you met her ancestor who used to worship Dialga and had an easygoing attitude like her.

Girl is taking notes fr.

Together you seek out the "Bloodmoon Beast", only to discover that it was an Ursaluna who travelled alllll the way to Kitakami from Hisui, the environment causing it to change appearances and abilities.

You were fascinated, wondering what Lord Ursaluna or Calaba would think of him, and made him a member of your team after quelling his rage.

While going on more casual photoshoots with Perrin, you ask her about what Sinnoh is like now or if anyone there knew about Hisui.

She mentions how the elderly folk talk of it, and how the subway battle system was being run by one conductor due to the other going missing...

You find yourself holding your breath---until she says "oh but apparently he came back like yesterday" and you were SO relieved.

'Ingo made it back home, too. Thank you Arceus.'

She plans to invite you to Sinnoh someday, seeing as you're so curious about what it all looks like now.

BB Academy (BBE4, Carmine, & Kieran)

When you got to study abroad at BB Academy, you...sorta forgot all the beef you had with Kieran until you saw him berating a student out in the terarium.

A year later, you're Paldea's champion AND the one who saved Hisui, but you couldn't exactly tell him the latter.

But now you understood why everyone back then calling you a "hero" made you a little uncomfortable.

Ogerpon (who was worried sick about where you've gone all this time), was SO happy to see you were back and got to meet your Hisuian Lilligant. Two plant gals just vibing together.

You find a Kleavor in the canyon biome and become a bit sentimental, happy to see a descendant of the Lord of the Woods had survived to this very day.

He must've known you were the one who helped his ancestor (albeit not without receiving some scars from flying wood chips), as he bowed and began walking alongside you, loyal to a tee.

Least to say, he became a valuable ally when you finally battled Kieran in the championship.

He sees that you've definitely changed a lot, too. You look tougher and he was concerned about where that scar across your eye came from....

But he's still obsessed with winning, and his attitude when talking about Terapagos afterwards reminds you of...well...Volo.

It's such an extreme comparison, and you hate how your brain immediately jumped to that considering that was a legitimate monster of a man who betrayed you.

Yet it feels like such a similar situation when Kieran pits the turtle against you in the Underdepths, obsessed with power and wanting nothing more than to be recognized as "worthy".

At least he wasn't planning on ending the world, just yours.

After you both reconcile, you spill the beans about where you've gone for the past year, expecting him to laugh or shun you again for keeping such a big secret from him.

Instead..he has this star-eyed look and wanted to know MORE.

So during your next visit to Kitakami, you tell him and Carmine some stories of your Hisuian adventures, showing off Kleavor and your Alpha Garchomp.

Seeing that you still liked to make authentic pokeballs and potions made Kieran appreciate you a lot more. Kitakami used to have a lot of those apricorns, tumblestones, and leeks before everything became mass-produced.

Like him, you really became out-of-touch with today's technology, so while he's learning it, you're re-learning it along with him.

Eventually you tell those same stories to the BB E4, who are all just as shocked, amazed, and bewildered as the twins were.

And when they all came to offer up a trade, you knew what to do:

For Drayton, you gave him a Goomy, insisting that he trains it fully, not wanting to spoil the "surprise".

As lazy as he is, he does so and is stunned when Sliggoo is revealed to be chilling in its own shell, and Goodra had its whole shell on its tail, capable of withdrawing into it anytime

Ngl it makes him wish he had his own shell to withdraw into just to escape situations.

For someone like Kieran who likes old-fashioned stuff, you figured a Hisuian Voltorb would suit him best.

Its appearance reminds you of the olden ways pokeballs were made, and he got the hang of crafting a few himself after a little trial and error!

He gets nervous about it exploding like Kantonian Voltorbs at the slightest touch, but is happy to find out it's super friendly and discharges just to spook humans.

As for Carmine, the sharpness in her golden eyes reminds you of a certain ghost type's...and thus you believed giving her a Hisuian Zorua was ideal. You had a feeling she'd love its evolved form.

When she does evolve it, she's stunned that it has reddish highlights like she does, jokingly asking if this is her in "another life".

Least to say, she loves it indeed.

While you were adamant about giving Amarys your Kleavor, you ended up trading her a Scyther and give her a black augurite afterwards, explaining how it's the secret to its other evolution.

She mentioned deposits of that mineral existing within the canyon biome, but it couldn't actually evolve the surrounding Scyther population due to being simulated.

But thanks to you, she gets to witness that in-action because you held onto an authentic piece of it, and she gives you her thanks.

As for Crispin, well, you believed a Hisuian Growlithe was perfect for him. It was energetic, loyal, and full of fire..just like him.

He got teary-eyed at the story you told of the late Lord Arcanine, his son, how you quelled his frenzy, etc..and feels inspired to train the pup you've given him into something incredible.

One thing Kantonian and Hisuian Arcanines have in common? They love spicy foods.

For Lacey, you trade her a Hisuian-born Petili, encouraging her to use the sun stone right away.

She does and is delighted to see Lilligant as such a graceful dancer..who really packs a punch when it counts!

She'll definitely doll her up and ensure she knew Charm (the only fairy move Hisuian Lilligant could know, alas).

Epilogue/Author’s final note

Idk if anyone’s been paying attention to how the blog has been transforming over the course of the story, both in answers + meta blog layer, but I hope it’s been a fun ride! I wanted to thank you those who wrote really nice words again ;u; it means a lot, especially when I poured a lot into this blog (Probably more than I should lol.)

Anyway, I really wanted to do a full write up of the blog’s plot/timeline... A summary of the vision, if you will.

Arc 1: An idyllic universe

I’d be lying if I had this plot from the beginning, but the whole of it certainly came in a rush. Anyway, the beginning of this story was very much an AU where Sada and Turo did leave the crater, reuniting with Clavell and Arven before dying. It’s a universe where everything is perfect, and certainly one that Clavell of every universe dreams of, regardless of whether he’s romantically involved with anyone.

Arven gets to have his parents, Clavell gets to have his childhood friends by his side, Sada and Turo see that Paradise was never something found in the past and future.

Arc 2: A crumbling dream

Then, a desire to explore zerotrio “canon” overcame me, and I thought it might be fun to pursue a change in direction via story, as opposed to usual ask blog announcements/retcons. So... upon the mention of harm coming to the trio, Clavell assures himself that Sada and Turo are fine.

Thus begins the crumbling of this ideal world, with Clavell becoming sickly and grieving for something he doesn’t know... But Sada and Turo do. Throughout these few asks, whoever’s responsible for this dream is implied... and I think I’ll leave that for you to guess :)

Reality is rushing back at Clavell, and eventually time runs out for him. Sada and Turo know this, and I hoped I made it clear how apologetic they are (Love these complex, problematic, but fiercely loving professors lol. Their personalities are so intense, Clavell always in the crossfire)...

Arc 3: Zero Lab era

Suddenly, Clavell was no longer available to respond... as per his injury. Instead we have the Zero Lab Search queries: An opportunity for people to investigate what truly happened between the trio historically. No better certainty in happenings than real video footage, no?

An added plus was to show the trio’s early relationship together during the Tera Orb research eras... Fluffy filler between the grimness of what becomes of them.

Although the “footage” isn’t posted in chronological order, they are all still roughly dated to show a coherent-ish timeline of Sada +Turo and Clavell beginning to have different priorities for Arven’s sake. Arguments had and never truly resolved... logs of Sada and Turo’s absence in Arven’s young life... so forth.

Peppered amidst all these were little clues, as well as puzzles. I attempted to throw a red herring, wanting to keep Sada and Turo’s deaths a not so secret for longer.

Eventually however, we reach present day, with lots of footage locked or damaged. Clavell, Sada and Turo are never shown, but their impacts of their action are. (These poor poor wild Scream Tails haha.)

Arc 4: Present day

We finally arrive at the true present day... with Clavell facing off Protocol Sada and Turo on his own.

The reveal isn’t a crazy twist, nor did I really want it to. But the build up had been for a tragedy we already knew/are familiar with: that Sada and Turo died for their dreams....

But in these final moments where Clavell woke from a vision that felt too real, Protocol Sada and Turo weren’t immune to it either.

Zero Lab queries no longer function as they used to, and asking about the past hurts. Sada and Turo’s conscious speaks through the logs. (Its true workings I leave to your imagination, but I liked the thought of the AI and Protocol representing the two parts of a whole Professor.) We see the final moments of Sada and Turo in what is a death-defying retrospective.

What next... complicated/messy resolutions. Clavell saved, Sada and Turo “alive” but different. It’s more open ended than I intended, but I think it’s also alright to leave things to the imagination... 

The trio have always been in search of their respective treasures, and though it takes a long and rough journey...

Story So Far...

//Taking a drawing break briefly as my wrist has started aching again lol. Thought this might be a fun little summary post! This doesn’t contain everything I’ve made for them, but eh.

Major plotpoints/lore (marked by key art pieces I suppose) are noted with * and bolded.

Clavell says hello! Sada and Turo butt in too. It’s introduced that this is a post-game universe where Clavell/Sada/Turo are a polycule who raised Arven together.

The nature of their relationship is revealed a little more. Their family is a strange one. >>

Turo learns what DILF means. >>

* We see a glimpse of domesticity in the Lighthouse. >>

Clavell reminisces about how the trio have known each other for so long. It’s revealed that Sada and Turo occupy the empty lab area of Clavell’s office, and have artificially created Miraidon and Koraidon. >>

Clavell learns what DILF means (sort of.) >>

* How Clavell got Sada and Turo to leave area zero is revealed. He had his Gyarados and new team of water pokemon flood Area Zero. The place is no longer visitable. >>
