Suspicions that the significance of the date may come from taekook’s first kiss taking place, although all evidence indicates it would’ve been an isolated event at the time that they brushed off. This date is known as a significant date for them because they responded to each other’s love songs on this day in 2016. They also were spotted on a date in a nearby hotel (Namsan tower date) in 2018. We believe the first kiss could’ve happened on this date based on Jk’s song recommendation in March 2015 (see March section for more info but in short he recs an lgbtq song and screenshots “I want more” lyrics while writing “one more” in his tweet). We also concluded this based off of their dynamics. Taking into account the fact that Tae got drunk in September 2014 and kissed a Jimin doll, a possible explanation for a single kiss could be that Tae got drunk and took a risk in kissing a shocked Jk, but then backed off blaming the alcohol. In this scenario jk would have later realized he wanted to experience it once more but wasn’t brave enough & didn’t know if Tae really meant it.

Jk recommends the song “Memo” during this time, which talks about wanting more. This song is by Years & Years and is a gay song in which the male pronouns are used. Jk writes “one more” – which is very similar to the highlighted lyrics of the original song, but not exactly; saying “one more” implies something happened & wanting to repeat (one more time, one more kiss, etc). Jk did recommend a song prior to “Memo” so when he said “one more” he could have meant one more song recommendation but it’s also possible he intentionally tweeted 2 songs in a row so his text had multiple interpretations and it wasn’t so obvious except to the person it was meant for. Regardless, the writers believe the lyrical screenshot of “memo” included in his tweet -  “I want more” - to be suspicious, especially since it’s an LGBTQ themed song and the first one of it’s kind he brought attention to. We believe Jk is hinting with the song and implying he wants more out of someone - more than just a friendship - no matter what he meant with his added text. This and other 2015 interpretations are supported by events that come later on.

BTS release an album, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1. Jk helped work on “Outro: Love is not over”. Some of the lyrics are “love is painful, sometimes painful”. “It seems that goodbyes are painful …” Our analysis is that by this time, Tae and Jk had not become a couple, nor had they done anything besides possibly kissed one time, if that. The speculation that they may have kissed stems from Jk recommending in March the LGBTQ song “memo” and it’s screenshoted lyrics “I want more”. We are not sure what Jk was referencing, but speculate perhaps they had kissed and Jk wanted to repeat that - or maybe they hadn’t and he wanted to escalate it. Based on their heavily flirtatious banter in 2015, it’s possible they kissed once and then backed off. We don’t see anything in 2014 or the beginning of 2015 to infer there was an issue between Tae and Jk, especially since they were not a couple but were increasingly upping the flirting antics between them. Because of this, it’s our belief that Jk’s writing contribution to “Outro: love is not over” is Jk gearing up for heartbreak, whether it’s rejection by Tae or society’s judgment.

While the photo itself is sweet and innocent, what should be pointed out is that Tae’s feet are literally facing the opposite direction of the camera, pointing to Jk. Remember, well respected body language expert Umentory mentioned in his Taekook 2020 analysis that feet are the most honest part of the body, and can point towards a person we are interested in (see end of Jan 2020 for more on Umentory). Tae’s body language betrays him and shows his interest in Jk in this photo.
