modern au + shiro + solar eclipse

like the protective papa he is, sasuke takes the day off of work and stays home with shiro. he covers all the windows and takes shiro for his walk in the morning. the eclipse would be hitting their city around one o’clock and his son has to be safely protected in their home lest he go blind from looking at the sun directly.

“what about me?” sakura points out. after seeing sasuke essentially turned their home into a fortress, she decided to stay home with them as well.

“what about you?”

“you’re so concerned about shiro. what about me?”

sasuke rolls his eyes. “shiro tries to eat his own vomit, sakura. he can’t be trusted to have the sense to not look at the sun.”

in his retirement, kakashi becomes a writer. 

he’s a romance novelist working under a pseudonym and not so subtly basing his leading couple on a couple he’s known since they were itty bitty beans with childish crushes that blossomed into a deeper, stronger sort of commitment. the only people who might notice his inspirations are those beans themselves and maybe their other teammate, but naruto is busy and sakura thinks he’s just writing porn, so only sasuke actually reads his work and therefore has something to say about kakashi’s latest contribution to his romance series.

“what do you think?” kakashi asks, looking at sasuke’s copy of the second book. 

sasuke frowns. “it’s very…”

“heart-warming? intriguing? erotic?”

“accurate.”

sasuke and sakura are casually walking through a village, on their way to restock on some supplies, when there is a shout followed by horrified gasps, and then someone screaming for a doctor. sasuke glances at sakura, finding her gaze zeroing in on the forming crowd. the cry for a doctor is repeated, so sasuke expects nothing less when his wife turns to him, hands him their baby, and runs off like the superhero he knows she is.

she tells people to make way and seconds later, that head of pink disappears in the crowd. 

“let’s go follow mama,” he suggests, manoeuvring through the people. 

when he finally makes it to the middle, he finds sakura knelt down beside a man with her hands glowing green. there’s a woman sniffling and wiping her face as sakura reassures her that everything is going to be alright.

an arrested development au for @baasama

in an effort to appear more charitable, madara deigns to adopt a child. was this meant to spite his grandsons? of course not. but, madara thinks irritably, perhaps this new addition will actually finish her cottage cheese. he glares at shisui and wonders if he knows this is his fault.

“excuse me,” madara calls, getting the boys’ attention. 

obito puts down the desk of cards he’d been using for his magic trick. shisui stops fixing his hair to ensure his perfect curl consistency and itachi just sighs as he lowers whatever company report he might have been reading. sasuke tries to replicate his brother, aiming for exasperated yet attentive, but falls laughably short.

“i’d like you all to meet…” madara turns to the girl the fire country embassy had entrusted him with and tries to remember what might have been on the paperwork. deciding her name isn’t that important, he waves the matter off. “she is your new sister.”

they react as strongly as he expected they would so madara tries not to look too smug.
