people striving to sort characters into 'good' and 'bad' will always end in characters being heavily watered down and even calling them morally grey isnt doing a good job. there are very few characters who can be sorted into either and trying to make it a strict binary or even basing enjoyment of a character on flat morality does a disservice to the actual text. this is true for all fandoms but especially homestuck, where most of the characters are flawed with complex motivations.
