INCOMING VENT ABOUT HB: UGH IM SO MADDDDD look I love HB and the fandom! But I’m so sick of people acting like Stolas is some sad victim and Blitzø is just a self-destructive asshole. I feel like a lot of the fandom sympathizes with Stolas because he’s pretty and sad and is more expressive than Blitzø. I literally just rewatched all of season 1 and Stolas condescends to Blitzø in literally every episode until their disastrous date at Ozzie’s. He’s always pinching Blitzø’s cheek and talking to him in a baby voice or calling him a plaything, He only ever contacts Blitzø when he’s horny. So by the time Ozzie’s rolls around, Blitzø is all too aware of what exactly his role is in their “relationship”. Like, I’m glad Stolas got his head out of his ass, but he was a complete dickhead to Blitzø all of season 1. I’ve been watching reactors on YouTube all day, and they all talk shit about Blitzø, especially in the Ozzie’s episode. I just want to scream and defend my favorite character. Like, yes Blitzø has some obvious issues with self loathing and feeling like he’s undeserving of love. Yes, he has walls up and pushes people away. But Stolas and Blitzø used each other. Stolas is not some tragic victim being treated badly in this relationship. They aren’t even in a relationship yet! Until the deal ends, this is a transactional situation. Full Moon needs to get here for that to happen. Stolas had his arc of growth, and I fully believe we are now in the midst of Blitzø’s arc too. I just want people to understand him more. 😭

I’ve never really been at the start of a fandom before. I know that Hazbin Hotel started about 4 years ago with the pilot I guess, but to watch it go more mainstream is really fun!

Like, the Angel Dust/ Husk (Hazbin Hotel) tag on AO3 went from having like 800 fics to almost 1600 in a week. My twitter is full of HH fanart and it’s been getting even crazier now that it’s Huskerdust week!

I watch an AU be born on twitter and not even a week later there’s over 30 fics and growing for it. I’m watching concepts come to life and become generally accepted among the fandom in real time. Fan theories are being posted and supported and included in the fanmade content, like the Poison Saliva theory or the Gold Tooth theory for Valentino.

I’ve never felt so tied to so many strangers. It’s addicting. I’ve literally been refreshing my ao3 tags constantly. There’s always new content and I almost always leave a comment to keep the momentum going.
