Must Visit Place in Costa Rica! 💦💙 Find tips to visit below 👇🏼 . Catarata La Fortuna has truely excided all our expectation! Usually we're a bot sceptical about the super touristy places but we heard so many people praising that waterfall, that we decided to check it out ourselves and we were not disapointed! 💙 The 18$/ person were definitely worth it. . Pro Tip: Arrive as early as possible. The park opens at 7am and we were there by 7:30am. There was only one other couple there besides us and we could really enjoy the view and take some pictures. Go to the waterfall first and then head to the other side to the natural swimming pools, when more people start arriving around 8:30am. We left the park at 9:30 and there were alreadg about 20 people at the pools and about 30 at the waterfall. . Hey loves 🧡 as you might have seen, we changed the name of our account to "Terra & Souls". The reason why we did this is simply because our previous name "Sun Soaked Souls" seemed to be very hard to understand for orher people. Most times when we mentioned it we got a lot of "what" and "how" which was not ideal. . We put a lot of thought into our new name, as we wanted it to really represent us but it was important to us to stay close to the original name. Matching our major change in travel plans, we decided that Terra [lat. earth/ground] was a great way to include our new home on wheels into our name. Terra stands for all the places, roads, hills, beaches, simply for all land we will travel on. Hello people & welcome to our adventure 👋🏼🧡 As there are already a few more people here, that probably don't know us from home, we thought it's time to properly introduce ourselves. 🙈 . Our names are Mischa & Patrizia. We've been together for almost 4 years and married since two. 💍 . Same place, different morning, same Love. 💛 . . The last few days, we really enjoyed that we are staying in Jacó Beach for a bit longer than we usually would. It's not the prettiest or coolest town, but it's right at the beach and offers us a sense of routine. We've been traveling for almost two month now and we had to learn to slow down a bit. There's no need to see or do something every single day, but the pressure to post and show up in stories everyday is real and it feels boring to share "slow travel" things. . We smoked our last cigarette on our 8 hour layover in Madrid, and it has now been over a month without smoking. We're feeling great and we could already feel a huge difference on this hike which was 11km all uphill and during some workouts we did. 🫁👌🏼 . Pro Tip for long travels 👇🏼 read below: . . In almost all of Panama and Costa Rica you will find places called Lavanderias 🧺 They are wash saloons where you pay per kg (lbs) of dirty laundry to get it washed, dried and folded on the same day. Prices vary by location but we never payed more than 10-15$ for all our joint laundry. Sometimes even hostels offer this service. It sounds quite luxurious to not having to wash it yourself but we haven't found many public wash saloons hence this was the best option for us. . . How to eat vegan/vegetarian on a budget in Central America 🥦🥭🥑🍍🍅🍉🥥🥔 Read below for tips: . . As you might now, we eat mainly plantbased and it was really difficult to do in Panama on a budget. The local cuisine, which is super cheap (like 1-2$ for an empanada) is very meat and cheese heavy and most of the sodas and restaurant don't specifically cater to vegans/vegetarians. So we thought we share what our best tips are: . N°1: You can get fruit and veggies at almost every place. There are many so called Legumberias or Fruterias, where we usually both a full bag of fruit and veggies for the day for about 3-5$. . N°2: Book accommodations with a kitchen. For hostels it is very common to have a shared kitchen, and if you prefer booking over Airbnb it is worth it to pay a few extra bugs to get a place with kitchen. . N°3: Pick the right supermarkets. In Panama we prefered the Riba Smith supermarkets, and in Costa Rica the Auto Mercado ones. They are definitely a bit more expensive but they tend to have much more fresh produce and quite a few vegan/vegetarian options. . REMINDER: "Sin carne" (Spanish for "without meat") does not garantee you vegetarian food. "Pollo" (chicken) and "pescado" (fish) is often not counted as meat. . Another way to explore Bocas del Toro 🚣🏼‍♀️ . . Our Airbnb had kayaks included, so we thought to give it a go and it was a great decision. It was a lot if fun kayaking from Isla Carenero, where we were staying, to hospital point on Isla Solarte, where you can find two secluded beaches, that are only accessible by water or a 1h throught the jungle. There are many Kayak rental options in Bocas town if you want to do it too. 💙 . . Make sure to check the weather and ocean conditions before you head out. We have hardly ever seen water this clear! 💧💎 . . How to get around on Isla Colón 🚲🏝 Read below 👇🏼 . . Pro Tip: Rent E-bikes, NOT normal bikes. 🏍 There are a few places you can rent bikes. The first time we rented regular city bikes and cycled to Bluff beach. While it wa doable, the quality of the bikes was quite bad and the quality of the roads made it even worse. Since they usually don't have gears, you also have very limited places you can take them since it gets quite step on some parts of the roads. . . The second time we rented E-bikes with fat tires from @bocasebikes, which was the best decision we could have made. The other day found some beautiful, hidden, natural pools in the middle of the jungle 💧🌿 See below for location. . . These natural pools were sooo magical. The water was cristal clear and the small fish were so curious and didn't mind us swimming and diving around them. 💙 Would you go for a swim here? . . Coordinates: 7.4665694, -80.3506582 ☞ From this location, you either need a car that can drive through the river or simply walk upstream in the river. It's about a 10 minutes walk through the water, after which you'll find the two small waterfalls with natural pools on the left side. Bring some kind of flipflops or other shoes you can keep on, as the river bed is quite uncomfortable to walk on. We went during dry season so the water was bearly reaching our shins but we don't know how it would be during or just after rainy season.
