what are the goddesses dynamics with each other? do luna and celestia still have a strong sisterly bond like when they were ponies or have their perception of emotion changed with godhood?
In the thousand years Luna was imprisoned, her sister remained in the world, being the sun and amassing worship, cementing herself as biggest lifegiving force in the world. This allowed her to grow higher than the tallest mountain, while Luna emerges still smaller than her sister even used to be.
To put it in perspective, see that little green smear in the bottom left?

That's Canterlot. The biggest city in equestria.
Luna is only a little bigger than that. Before the banishment, Celestia was less than twice Luna's size. But she grew while luna barely did. Luna was feared as the dreaded Nightmare Moon, which grew her corrupted power, but it could not measure up to the sun.
After being freed, she established her place as keeper of the night and queen of Dreams, which allowed her to grow once again, but she still doesn't reach Celestia's scale.
Tumblr media
This is how things are about a century after the events of g4.
Luna is much more connected to ponykind than celestia is. She can visit individual dreams and connect with ponies that way, while Celestia doesn't bother. Her bond with Celestia is strong, post release, but will always be fractured while Luna has one hoof among mortals.
Eventually, Twilight will encourage them to stop meddling in mortal politics, and they will concentrate on bigger things like the weather and health of the planet. Once both of them become equal parts of the sky, they will become as close again as they were in foalhood. Right now there is an imbalance in size and power due to ponies worshiping/believing in the goddess of the day, but less celebrating the goddess of night. After luna is freed, appreciation of her grows massively and she catches up to be closer to celestia's size.
The other two goddesses have a sisterly relationship as well. They are both young, and represent different types of love. They are closer to mortals than they are to the sky gods, and they are closer to each other than they are to mortals. Still, because they are rooted in mortals' feelings for each together, they will always be more connected than the sisters are.
However, one must remember that gods are capable of emotions beyond mortal comprehension.

Hypothetically, how close could somebody get to a god? Could a pegasus fly up and accidentally char its wings against the suns rays? Or walk upon the surface of the moon?
Or is touching a god considered “taboo,” if they even are touchable at all?
(ps. Sorry if this ask got sent 2-3 times. Tumblr kept bugging out when I tried to send it and idk if they got through </3)
The atmosphere gets too thin to reach Celestia's head. If you touch the sun she carries around, you would get burned to a crisp, but you can land on the rest of her just fine. Her whole body is covered in celestial feathers too big for your mind to comprehend, and she is too large to notice your presence. It's like getting a speck of dust on your arm. If you aren't watching it land you won't even know it's there.
If she does notice you, she can connect and speak into your mind. If she listens very intently, she can hear you when you speak back. But this could end very badly for you, if she introduces concepts too complex for your brain to understand. It's best to leave the goddesses alone, at least the sun, because her attention can end your life in a moment, or change its course forever.
Celestia is so far into her ascension she is hardly a person anymore.
The others are much smaller and easier to approach.

Is the Sun proud, or perhaps even envious, of the way her student can connect to mortal ponies? (Thinking specifically of the Alicorn Twilight summary post, and her being able to have in-depth conversations with multiple ponies that "can last hours")
Celestia is proud of Twilight, yes. She is not envious, as having a relationship with tiny mortals is beyond what the sun cares about. They are so small, like motes of dust. She barely even misses them. She knows she is disconnected from mortal affairs and the chasm is far too deep for her light to reach.
Which is precisely why the sun took notice of Twilight Sparkle: she saw hope for a generation of magic where it's very definition is connection with mortals. Twilight created a friend for herself out of a rock, that's how important friendship was to her. If the gods could nurture this ache, could craft her life's path around connection with her fellow ponies, then she could become a bridge between gods and mortals for eternity.
It came with some unexpected consequences though. A goddess who cares first and foremost for mortal affairs is going to disagree with the way the other goddesses ran things for millennia. Celestia and Luna installed their own budding ruler as monarch of the crystal empire. But Twilight came in, listened to the subject's wishes, and convinced Cadance and the others to step down and allow a crystal pony to lead the crystal ponies instead of a colonist.
So rather than envy, there is a certain level of irritation. Twilight is here to promote the will of the people rather than the will of the gods. It's a direct consequence of her divine essence. She is the goddess of friendship, not of the sun or moon or romance. So of course she would have different priorities than the others. She is doing exactly what she was chosen to do and so much more.
As Twilight grows, Celestia and Luna realize more and more they are disconnected from mortals, and their will in picking rulers and making laws is out of touch, confusing, and damaging. They begin work to leave the kingdom in her hooves, trusting her to handle mortal affairs for the benefit of all. They shouldn't be surprised, then, when she dismantles the monarchy and steps down herself.
It's still shocking! But by now they've learned to listen to Twilight when she tells them of her conversations with tiny, insignificant ponies. They trust her to always prioritize harmony even at the expense of her own power.
This is why she was chosen, after all. To be what the sun could not be: a friend.

so how did celestia...show up? cause she definitely ain't fitting inside that room
The gods don't speak to us. Even though legend says they used to be ponies, everyone who could have borne witness died or vanished millennia go. They say Starswirl the Bearded was The Sisters' teacher before they ascended. Most think he was a prophet, chosen by the gods to enact their will.
Being chosen is not necessarily a good thing. Though the gods are benevolent when they deign to notice our affairs, that does not mean they are gentle.
I pray that their attention passes and your daughter can return to her studies, to a mundane life she already enjoys.
You see, the sun spoke to me.
The day of her admission to our school, something shimmered in the air. I came to know later that it was a rambunctious foal in Cloudsdale who managed to rip a hole in the magic layer with her speed. It seems that day was packed with the whispers of destiny, if you believe in that.
Regardless, the sun hung in the sky a little longer that day. And the next. The great mare that ferried it across the sky seemed to pause, and look in our direction.
I have a confession to make.
The entrance exam was a farce. Most of it was real, but the dragon egg was not. We don't have an endless supply of dragon eggs with which to test students. We have rocks.
The point of this part of the exam was to test applicant's critical thinking. They're supposed to ask where we got the egg, they're supposed perform some examination spell on the stone, they're supposed to heat it or turn it or explain that incubation is a long and unpredictable process. They're supposed to come up with a plan when just pointing at it doesn't work.
They are not supposed to hatch it.
I don't know what your daughter did, or how, but she split the rock in two and either found or formed a baby dragon inside it.
I have a theory; we all have theories. Based on what the sun seems to think, I believe Twilight Sparkle was achingly alone, and conjured for herself a friend within that stone. We have done our best to help her raise her foundling and study at the same time, but the sun streaming in through the window watches our every move.
She summoned me at sunrise, with her voice in my head, to tell me what I already knew. That your daughter is something special, and I am to nurture her in the study of magic. It feels like a gift, something I'm sure you felt too the day she was born. A gift... and a burden to bring someone like that into the world.
Creating a lesson plan with the input of a goddess is definitely a challenge to one's sanity.
I don't know what the goddess plans to do with young Twilight Sparkle, but I am afraid we are powerless to stop it. I could understand if you wanted to withdraw her from the school and try to forget all of this; I would even advise it if I thought it were possible.
But you cannot hide from the sun.
You can only hope she grows bored of such tiny things
and sets again in the west.
