Here’s my stylized redraw of a 1990 Miniseries screencap! I just recently rewatched this version and reinforced my love for it. This miniseries is my favorite adaptation despite it not being Leroux based. To me, Charles Dance’s portrayal instills such an important part of Erik’s character that is often lost in other adaptations. His quick wit and dry self deprecating sarcasm and humor brings a new life to Erik which hasn’t really been seen before or since this adaptation. It’s masterfully well thought out from every literary reference to every strategically placed stuffed dear for which Erik can demolish.

strange face
with your eyes so pale and sincere
underneath (you know well) you have
nothing to fear
for the dreams that came to you (when you were young)
told of a life where
spring had sprung

“Why, I haven’t the faintest idea what you’re talking about.”
Erik, you big fat liar. WIP of a comic. More to come!

Lunch break Erik sketching. Because I dearly miss his cranky lack of a face.

“Ah, yes, we must needs pity the Opera Ghost.”
4 - Leroux
HAh sorry for no post yesterday, my mind was about to expire.
I’ll try and post 5 and 6 tomorrow at the same time!
I DID ink this all on paper, but I ended up not liking the second attempts so I’m showing the digital sketch instead!
SCREECH I FORGOT TO CREDIT @phantomofthetrashcan FOR THE INKTOBER PROMPT AAAAAAAAAAAA
Also, to clarify that this is the very last part of the last chapter where Leroux goes down to discover Erik’s body near a well, where he first held Christine in his “trembling arms”, and the gold ring on his finger. My favorite panel is where Leroux prays for his soul :’))

Going through old WIPs and I can’t for the life of me remember if I ever posted this–it’s from 2016, holy cow. Mostly wanted an excuse to draw Erik’s hands and a teeny, tiny Ayesha.

So have I mentioned at any point that I ship the hell out of Nadir and Madame Giry? It makes sense, if you think about it: to put up with that much nonsense from Erik, they’d have to be sympatico. Madame Giry would be absolutely enthralled with the wild stories Nadir told, and he’d be tongued-tied every time she danced. For most of it, each would keep it to themselves, but eventually, Erik would throw up his hands and go, “For the love of God, quit salivating from a distance and bloody court each other!”
And then they’d fight crime and solve mysteries and beat the crap out of Erik together, the end.
