another year, another weird Jade pic on 4/13. This used to be a way to show my progress, but with everything that happened this week, i didn't really have time to work much on it; it was kind of a last minute project.

This is also a half assed attempt at the 'evil art style' challenge, which is apparently some thing going around twitter im probably two months late to.

admittedly i put this off because i truly had no idea how i was going to do it, but i tried to put the focus into color gradients rather than hard shading, and sharper thinner lines. Its still pretty toony, especially on Jade's arms, but hopefully its.... less chonk than it could be.

what's some animation or art you are particularly proud of?

my own or someone elses?

If it's my own, im really fucking proud of that FOE christmas pic, ive been wanting to do that for at least a year. There's also the Sandman/Princess Luna crossover piece, which was one of the last pics i did on Adobe Animate and somehow looks leagues better than anything else i did on there.

If someone else's, Calvin and Hobbes, Housepets, and Louis Wain's art have all been massively inspiring to me. MarlineAnimates created some of the videos that first caught my attention as far as internet animations go way back when (and gave me a few of my music tastes at that).

But the single most inspiring animated product ive ever experienced was Vivziepop's Die Young music video. I'll admit, i threw a bit of a hissy fit when i found out she had decided to take it down; watching the characters in that video move is straight up heavenly for me, and has been driving me to keep trying (for as shit as i am at animation) for years and years now.
