saw a poll about dry/humid heat and like OBVIOUSLY everyone preferred dry heat but. would love to know what everyone considers to be “too hot”

me personally it’s a hard cutoff at 75°F. don’t need anything more than that thank you 🫶🫶🫶

#90-100 is chill #above 100 is too hot to reasonably spend time outside #hottest i've experienced is 114 and humid and i just uhhh turned right around 2 steps out the door and went back inside for some water + AC #this is absolutely influenced by the fact i grew up in a tropical country #sadly now i live in a cold place #it snowed yesterday #genuine tho like as long as it's below 40c then i'll be fine

The older I get the more I admire people who are earnestly, genuinely into whatever their thing is. I know it sounds like an annoying cliche but unless you're being cruel or hurtful there is really no need to be normal about things. The dude with the bad fake accent at the renaissance faire is having the time of his life. The people having photoshoots with their fashion dolls are loving it. The old lady with a yard unreasonably full of tacky ass lawn ornaments is having a blast, HOA be damned.

Don't waste your time being too cool to have fun, y'know?

#all of this #my dad loves transformers and lord of the rings #he named multiple kids after lotr characters (sadly not me) #he's also a pastor and comes off as very serious and sometimes even scary to other people #(he's just quiet and reserved in public really) #there's no shame in him having a wall of transformer toys in his office #it doesn't make him worse at this job #it just gives him joy #he's told me how he's part of transformers fb group and they share the new toys they've gotten and talk about upcoming releases etc #which sounds awesome and i'm really happy he's found other people to talk to cause he tried his damned hardest to get us kids into it #with no luck #anyways being older does not mean you need to stop enjoying things you like

#no organization #just which books fit on the shelf together #so i guess a little bit by size #but not strictly more just the result of physics #this is how books were organized when i was a kid growing up #and idk it works for me #i found an old book out of 20 boxes of books in our basement after my parents moved in under 3 minutes #because i just remembered what other books had been by it on the shelve and saw those in one box #my parents had just thrown the books into boxes straight from the shelf so they kept their organization - or lack thereof #for the record the book was the little prince #and it was by island of the blue dolphins and rodzena #so not really uhhhhhh similar books in any way #but they're roughly the same size ish

#yeah i think it's getting electrocuted #my dad was struck by lightning thru a window #my mom has zapped herself at least 3 times - most notably by sticking a fork in the toaster #her bagel was stuck and she figured since the toaster had popped up it was safe #this woman got a degree in engineering #anyways i've also been zapped - plugged a cord into an extension strip and one prong went in the other still out and i touched it by accide #at least that's what i assume must have happened #because next thing i know i've been thrown back and feel like a soccer ball hit my stomach #i do know what that felt like from prior experience #lucky me my mom was a regular at this and so i knew that getting zapped can kill you even 24 hours after #so i would regularly check my pulse and make sure it wasn't funky #i think i mentioned it to my parents a few days later and they were horrified but i was like “mom does it all the time” #still waiting on my younger siblings to be zapped #at least it's not my turn anymore

if you were/are homeless/couch surfing, count each location where you stayed at least a week.

#17 physical places #but if we like count the actual moving action itself like #moved out for college then covid hit moved back to the house i lived in in highschool etc #then it has to be over 100 #there were multiple periods of my life where for 6 months we would bounce between my grandparents different houses and friends etc #idk exactly how many of those were a week or more it's all a blur so i only counted the ones i was sure of #for locations #but yeah moving a lot #and i'll be moving again sometime soon cause rn i'm staying with family again #lets talk about how moving is the 3 most traumatizing normal life event behind death and divorce #also i moved around the world too

does anyone know if i can like block sites from appearing in my google images searches??? i keep getting those awful ai generated things with a hand coming out of a man's neck and just straight up not what i was looking for, because this was in a search for "curly hair in medieval paintings". it happens every time i search for anything vaguely art-reference-like and it's so fucking annoying and it clutters my search results so much. i don't wanna add specific commands to the query every time too, what i need is like a browser extension or something
