My ❤️ for Music
Growing up music has always been a big part of my life and whenever I hear a specific song it brings back memories and I can see where I was when I first heard the song. My taste of music has really evolved over the past years. When younger I would listen to spanish pop which I still do to this day. I want to say when I was in middle school I got more into the top hits pop and growing up I expanded Into alternative rock/ I guess you can call it indie but a good example would be like milky chance the group. Now this brought me through my journey of KPOP. Now you may think oh gosh another one kpop crazy fan,but that’s not true! The way I got into kpop is my cousin first introduced me to it in 2015 and I didn’t understand the hype of it I would watch their videos and thought it was cool but not knowing what they were saying literally threw me off. Until I started watching Kdramas which I got hooked in and they would play Kpop and that’s when my interest sparked. The first group I liked was GOT7 and after that BTS and ever since then Ive fallen into the ARMY fandom. This sparked my interest to learn a new language, and learn more about the culture. I never thought I was going to find another culture that wasn’t Mexican that I would really want to learn more about. I’ve gone to two Kpop concerts in the past two years and they have been great I can’t wait to go to mor and potentially visit South Korea.

Experience at 104.1 KRBE
I worked as an intern during the summer for the radio station KRBE. I was on the promotions/marketing department. During my internship I worked on projects for events that were happening soon. So for concerts I had to prepare the decor so we can put something up that the listeners can Interact with while they were waiting at the stadium. We had the 10k Summer Slot giveaway which I had to get all the paperwork done for each contestant and make sure everything was ready to go and there were no mistakes for the day of the event. I had to go to 3 events whether it was a concert, a parade, or any sponsored event. I decided to go to the pride parade, the 4th of July parade, and a concert. While at these events we just set up a tent and either have a prize wheel, or plinko board to have the audience play and see if they received prizes or not. These events where tiring but you got to meet the listeners and interact with them. They’re question will always be where’s “Roula & Ryan at?” Which would get annoying but their the main characters of the radio station. While an intern I got to do my own event. So I was in charge of Wingstops 25 year of flavor project. It’s like office crashes, we had to go visit the winners at their office and deliver them a wingstop gift card, and other KRBE goods. I had to call people who entered the giveaway get information from them and make a spreadsheet of people elegible for the contest. After that I had to show the manager and have her decide which places to go, then I created an event report which I sent to the team where it just has the logistics of the event like the time we meet at the station, what to wear, what we are doing, the packing list and other stuff. This really gave me control of running my own event which I was nervous but excited about. Before my Internship was over they offered me a part-time offer which I happily accepted. Now I work some weekends for events. KRBE has helped me see the enterntaintment side of business which I have really enjoyed and where I want a career in so this is such a good stepping stone for me to move on to my career.

Working at the Student Centers
Ive been working at the Student Centers for a little over a year now and I have enjoyed my time ever since the first day. I started working as a student assistant for Facilities and Operations, but then after 3 months the marketing department opened a job position and I just had to take it. Ever since then I’ve been a marketing and programs assistant. While working in marketing I have really learned a lot about event planning, social media, and graphic designing. I took control over 7 social media platforms which are for the Student Centers and the others are for the Games Room and Shasta’s ice cream and more. While working here I got to see unfold some amazing events and got to be apart of them. The Student Center had around 7-8 events per semester which are spread out but the preparation for them is time consuming. We have 4 movie screenings where we partner up with other departments at UH and show an educational or entertaining film that shows some kind of meaning for students. This semester we showed Shazam!, Orpheus, Selena, and Art and Copy. All of them very different film genres but they had a meaningful story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also have our significant events like welcome back, campus prowl, fall fun, paint & snack, i heart my student center.. amongst others. While working here I gained a different perspective on Marketing and learned how it’s just more than promoting your event it takes a lot of the behind the scenes to actually make these events happen. You have to brainstorm an idea, get the idea approved, then start thinking of what activities, and giveaways to have at the event. From there on out it’s just contacting vendors and seeing what works and what doesn’t. At the end of the day I always like to remind my manage that “it all works out at the end.” I’ve felt extremely blessed to have had this opportunity open up for me and to be able to meet amazing people and get experience in marketing while I’m in school.

AGU Ramen adventure
On my second food adventure I went to AGU Ramen Bistro located at Washington Ave. AGU makes everything in-house & from scratch. According to their website “Everything is made with ramen sweat and love: the signature pork broth takes 24 hours to craft, the chicken broth more than 9 hours.” Let me just say the broth is the best part of any ramen and AGU really stands out for their unique flavored broth. AGU expanded to Texas in 2016 opening up locations in Houston, sugar land even across the world in Seoul, South Korea. Their popularity and deliciousness has given them so many well known awards in the culinary industry.
Now getting to the best part which is the food! I order for appetizers the takoyaki. Takoyaki is a deep fried batter ball filled with octopus and topped with flakes and green onions. Drizzled with some sauce. The best part of appetizers is they have happy hour! So after 4pm some appetizers are half prize! There’s no better deal than that! My friends ordered some fried AGU Gyoza which is basically a dumpling. And we got some French fried.
Tumblr media
Now going on to the actual meal. I ordered the spicy creamy chicken ( I order it at a spicy level 3). Let me just say that the broth was the best thing! The noodles were at a good cooking point. They weren’t too soft but we’re definitely cooked. The chicken was soft and the green onions definitely give it a good added flavor. I’ve eaten at plenty ramen places before but none of them had the touch of flavor and texture that this one had. There was nothing bad about this ramen and I was Lowkey disappointed because I always expect it to have something that’s missing.
Tumblr media
Overall AGU is such a great place to eat. The workers and the atmosphere are so chill and enjoyable. They were playing throwback songs that would that you back to the early 2000s and we were singing along to. Definitely recommend this place for sure!
Rating out of 5 stars: ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨(4 1/2)

Astros Food Adventures
Today, I’m going to be posting my experience at Lolas. Lola is a modern diner that serves up a variety of food for different peoples taste. I decided to go try their breakfast.
Tumblr media
Im a huge French toast fan so I decided to get the challah French toast. It came with 6 slices of french toast and sausage topped with strawberries and blueberries. The presentation itself was good. The real question was does it taste as good as the way it looks? Food is food and I’ve tried french toast at different places and these weren’t bad but they weren’t the best. They are satisfying and for sure filling so you aren’t disappointed. The price for the amount of food you receive is good. Now my friend got the Breakfast Lola which is their signature dish. As you can see by the picture it comes with eggs, sausage and seasoned potatoes. For breakfast it definitely is a well balanced plate just add some Cholula to the potatoes and eggs to spice things up and you’ll be satisfied.
Tumblr media
Lola’s definitely has a more modern feel to dinners. Their customer service is amazing, the people there are so sweet and really want you to have a good meal. What I found unique was that at the ceiling they had quotes written. That really added a unique touch to the restaurant and made it more hip looking. I would recommend Lola as a breakfast spot of course everyone has different taste but food is food.

I would give Lola ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars... my friends would give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨(3.5) stars.

Who Am I?
Tumblr media
Who am I? I guess it’s appropriate to start my new journey to blogging by explaining my interest and kind of what is to come. I am a 22 year old college Student majoring in Marketing.I am currently a Marketing Officer for Bauer Global Brigades a Non profit organization that helps micro entrepreneurs in under resource communities grow their business.I was also involved with the Hispanic Business Student Association which is a more professional organization where I got to learn how to better network with professionals. Overall both of these organizations have really impacted my life and shaped me more to the person I already was. Being in college really helped me grow and find the kind of person I want to be.
Tumblr media
I enjoy traveling not just to see the historical side of the cities but to engage with the people and their culture. I am very open when it comes to learning new languages, and cultures. I am a Kpop fan my all time favorites are BTS. (I’ll talk more about that in a later post) I really want to learn Korean and either visit South Korea or potentially live there.
Tumblr media
I currently have two part time jobs. One of them is at my University and the other one is at the local radio station where I live. I have a marketing role for both of them but they both are so different in just the way they carry themselves. One of them is a more educational setting so when controlling their social media and events there’s regulations to follow. Now working for the radio station there’s so much freedom and so much creativity that goes behinds events and just work. I love them both equally. I will be talking more about both these positions in a later blog post. For now this is just a quick intro to who I am 🤗

Blooming Lotus - [BTS] Husband!Namjoon Au
[A/N] I just… I have nothing to say.
Tumblr media
“In sports, local badminton teams demands a review on the doping issue that has been taken the country by storm since last two years of tournament. The badminton club presidents’ comments…”
Pots clanking suddenly makes you snap your head behind you, to see if Namjoon was awake because of it, but the door barely moved and you saw the duvet moving a bit. Sghing out of relief, you set the pots into the cabinets, carefully and as soundless as you can this time. The television playing morning news was strategically put on a low volume so Namjoon can sleep more. The morning sun peeps through the opal curtain, promising a sunny day today. Finally, you told yourself. Maybe you could take Namjoon for a walk outside if he wants to, if he’s not too tired. You’ve basically married yourself to a human-sized puppy. You smiled to yourself when you remember how he looked like in the duvet this morning, with his ruffled brown hair, pouty lips, shoulders showing and laying to his side when you escaped the warmth to get breakfast started. “…I wonder if he brought home any laundries, he shouldn’t leave it inside the luggage,” you wondered. But maybe later, after you’re sure of what to make for breakfast.
