Rules

Character must exhibit hubris in more the modern narrative sense than the ancient Greek religious sense. They don't HAVE to directly spite the gods (but it helps)

Character must be brought low by their own hubris at some point. They can recover from this and don't necessarily have to die/have their life completely destroyed, but it has to cause them significant, wide-ranging problems

No Harry Potter, no Minecraft RP unless the characters are really explicitly fictionalized, I reserve the right to exclude from other media

Welcome to the Best Fictional Plant Tourney!

A WHILE ago someone sent an ask to @namedafterflowerstournament asking if they'd consider a 'best fictional plant/flower' tournament, and they said it'd be cool for someone else to do. After much sitting around to see if someone else would do it (and if you HAVE done it and I missed it im so sorry!!!!) I've decided to be that person >:)

RULES

Any kind of plant is allowed and because I'm feeling silly, I'll allow mushrooms. Trees, flowers, berries, fruits, veg, ferns, mushrooms, whatever

My only media restriction is no Harr/y Po/tter, don't worry she didn't actually invent anything so you can submit mandrakes from other properties. Myth/folklore is ENCOURAGED!!!

Sentient plants are ALLOWED, including SOME Pokemon. Oddish is def allowed cause he's a lil radish w leggies, walking mushrooms from dungeon meshi are allowed, Pokemon like dhelmise and decidueye not so much, some of these may go to prelim polls if im not sure.

I've not thought about time limits/bracket count I just miss having something to Organise and I want to make my little lists and graphics again :)

Hello!

Taking inspiration from blogs such as @haveyouheardthisband and @haveyouseenthismovie-poll I've decided to make a similar blog for tv series! The purpose of this blog is to see how popular some series are with the tumblr population, and hopefully share some recs. ^^

I'm currently queing polls for up until Halloween, but in the mean time feel free to send submission in the google form!

Some additional information:

Polls will be open for 1 week each.

I will not be posting polls about reality shows, talent shows, or talk shows.

Every Character Ever

Have you ever wanted to see how popular your blorbo was? Or wished your special lil guy fit more polls' criteria? Maybe you just want to click buttons!

Well this is the poll for you!! You can submit any character, from any media, to be voted on by the greater tumblr audience. The only rule is no real people; this is Blorbo from your media, not Johnathan from the Actor's Guild. There is no limit to how many characters one person can submit, just please don’t do repeated submissions of the same character! It makes a mess of my spreadsheet

The submission form IS CURRENTLY OPEN. There is no winner, only a week-long voting time per entry. You will be able to pick between 6 options - I know this character (positive), I know this character (neutral/it's complicated), I know this character (negative), I have heard of this character, I would like to know this character, and I do not know this character. I will post, at the start of every week, the planned lineup for that week, and link that post here.

If you want to know what characters have already been sent in for submission, please look at my spreadsheet! It continuously updates with each new submission, so be sure to keep checking it if you want to know who's already in the lineup. Additionally, as I post 100 polls per 'week', this is a good metric of how far away your character of choice is away from getting their poll posted!

Femslash fic tournament

Hi everyone! This is the femslash fic tournament. This tournament was inspired by @thecoolerbestfanfictournament. I love it and think it was an excellent idea. But I don't love seeing f/f fics overshadowed because its such a niche and often overlooked part of fandom, so I decided to make a tournament just for them. Please see below the cut for the rules.

Rules:

You can submit any fic that is classified as f/f. Gen fic and multi-category fics can be submitted only if the f/f relationship is the central relationship. Fics based on relationships including a nonbinary character(s) are allowed if they feel to you like they fit the tournament.

All ships are allowed. This tournament is run by one person, and it's just not realistic to think I'm going to be able to enforce content rules. I won't have time to read all fics myself and I won't be familiar with all fandoms. If you don't like something that was submitted, vote against it.

Fics can only be submitted via the form and with a link. Any fics submitted via DMs or asks or fics submitted without a link will not be counted.

I'll take fics hosted on any website as long as the link works. In fact, I'd love to see some pre-AO3 submissions from older sites.

Submissions will stay open through Friday, October 13. After that, I will either do preliminaries to get to 64 or do a first round with more than two fics per poll, depending on the number and average length of submitted fics. The length of each round will be announced later but match-ups will be staggered.

The number of times a fic is submitted will have no bearing on whether or not it gets into the tournament, so please do not submit the same fic multiple times.

I won't publish anti-propaganda. People worked hard on these fics, and I'm not going to use this blog to platform flames.

Why is this called the femslash fic tournament? I picked femslash over alternatives like f/f and wlw because it's the historical term, and this is a celebration of the culture and history of this side of fandom. Also f/f would have been hard to make into a url.
