Thank You Andi Mack
So that this doesn’t get lost in the endless sea tomorrow, I thought I’d make a little thank you post for some of the people who made this series so wonderful.
Oh, and @joshua-rush, if you’re reading this, feel free to send this to the others.
Tumblr media
Peyton Elizabeth Lee, thank you for playing Andi Mack. Our titular Asian-American protagonist who has a heart as big as her creativity. A character with one of the craziest, yet lovable family trees imaginable.
Some great plot lines she has starred in include, of course, her messed up family tree. It’s come a long way from Season 1, where we get to see her family come together, fall apart, but come back together in the end. A couple of episodes centered around her Chinese heritage, providing us with an idea of tradition and culture for Chinese people. Her relationships have unfortunately gotten the short end of the stick, but it compensates for her many creative and rebellious acts. To name a few, she was the one who started the dress code protest, as well as the Mint Chip clothing store garage sale. She also broke the huge Asian stereotype with her arts and crafts mural, which (hopefully) got her into SAVA.
Well-Known Ships: Jonah, Amber, Walker
Tumblr media
Sofia Wylie, thank you for playing Buffy Driscoll. Headstrong, yet fierce, you’ve helped to show young women, especially women of color, across the world that they have more potential than they realize, and that the right motivation is all they need to be the best person they can.
Honorable plot lines include her moving story, which to be honest, had a bit of a lackluster ending. But it still gave younger kids a glimpse that not all people are lucky like that, so close connections may be lost when someone leaves. Of course, connecting to that is the military mother plot, where Buffy finally reunites with her mom, who had been deployed at sea. But in my opinion, her best plot line had to have been her entire sports career, and how she went from a bossy and competitive player to a supportive team captain.
Well-Known Ships: Marty, Walker
Tumblr media
Joshua Rush, thank you for playing Cyrus Goodman. Jewish, gay, but most importantly, loyal best friend. You’ve inspired many LGBT kids to come out to their loved ones (myself, included), and taught them that they are no different to anyone else.
His plots were some of the most mature, but most important ones of all. To get the big one out of the way, there’s his gay storyline, where he comes out to his closest friends, and shows his true colors. Next up is the Jewish-centered episodes, giving us diversity in something that isn’t truly physical. We see him evolve during his bar-mitzvah, and during his grandma’s Shiva. Both times give us an accurate representation of Jewish beliefs, culture, and tradition. Of course, who could forget the gun plot, which gave kids a very important lesson on gun safety, and that it’s important to understand the dangers of unsafe handling.
Well-Known Ships: TJ, Jonah, Iris (I had to mention her somewhere. She honestly deserved better)
Tumblr media
Asher Angel, thank you for playing Jonah Beck. A bit oblivious, but still a great friend, an amazing musician, and our favorite Space Otter (aside from Gus).
The one that blew everyone away, not only because of it’s surprise reveal, but because of how it continued on for multiple episodes, was the panic attack plot. It gave kids with anxiety someone to relate to, and how even though it’s scary, there are ways that can help you overcome it. The bankrupt family one had a really long buildup (about ten episodes from 3x02), but they at least kind of brought it back with a few updates on the whole situation. As of right now, the Becks are in their own home, and hopefully, it stays that way. And finally, whilst not important, there were the many, many, MANY storylines revolving around Jonah’s (failed) dating life. Just look at the ship list for him!
Well-Known Ships: Andi, Cyrus, Amber, Libby (One ship is gay, two ships had good development, three ships were canon, all four ships start with J)
Tumblr media
Lilan Bowden, thank you for playing Bex Mack. Two completely different sides. One is rebellious, while the other is loving.
Honorable storylines included her family connections. We get to see her become more involved in Andi’s life, regrow her love with Bowie, and fix broken ties with Cece. She got to open up her own makeup store, she finally got over her ex, Gabriel. Now, after some hardships, she’s gotten married to our one and only Bowie.
Well-Known Ships: Bowie, Miranda (Before Miranda became a snake)
Tumblr media
Trent Garrett, thank you for playing Bowie Quinn, who is now Bowie Mack. Our rocking dad figure with a love for those closest to him.
His story started when he came into Andi’s life and immediately tried becoming a better father figure towards her. He reconnected with Bex, and became a guitar teacher at the music store. There were a few episodes where he was with Miranda, but that ship has sunken, because Bex is his one true love.
Well-Known Ships: Bex, Miranda
Tumblr media
Lauren Tom, thank you for playing Celia Mack. Our favorite non-grandma grandma, whose a little arrogant, but still a supportive family member of the Macks.
Her storylines are more of the supportive role, as one of her only main plot included the house selling one with Ham. However, she does play a larger role in the Chinese storylines, as she naturally has more knowledge of their traditions. Regardless, she has still evolved over the course of this series, and I’m glad she’s still here until the end.
Well-Known Ships: Ham (Yes, I mentioned him. The character was still good, even if the actor was not)
Tumblr media
Emily Skinner, thank you for playing Amber (last name unknown). Mean or nice, she has made her way into our hearts as one of our favorite characters.
Amber was always more of the jealous antagonist towards Andi. But as time went on, she became a better person and even one of Andi’s greatest allies. She also grew closer with Jonah, even after their breakup(s), because of their connection with families with money problems. She also grew closer with Cyrus and Buffy, though those two had less development with her. And because of her, I now know what a rage cage is.
Well-Known Ships: Jonah, Andi
Tumblr media
Garren Lake, thank you for playing Marty from the Party. A recurring character at most, but everyone was glad to see you return in the final season.
Marty was always a support to Buffy, and he never really got much development with anyone else. There was that small moment where he dated Rachel. He’s a talented runner, and a good friend. I wish there was more to say about his character, but running and Muffy was kind of all he was known for.
Well-Known Ships: Buffy
Tumblr media
Luke Mullen, thank you for playing TJ Kippen. Our sporty gay boy who has evolved from mean captain to soft buddy.
Even as a recurring character, TJ has been a great addition to the cast. His storyline of being gay hasn’t been mentioned yet, as of right now, but he’s earned quite the reputation of being the T in our Tyrus ship. But enough about that, he has great storylines with Buffy as well, growing close bonds with her as a friend, and with her helping him when he found out about his dyscalculia.
Well-Known Ships: Cyrus, Buffy (that was more of an Instagram ship, though)
Tumblr media
Raquel Justice, thank you for playing Kira. The character we all love to hate. It’s a shame you weren’t with us longer, but you’ve been amazing for the time being.
Kira’s plot were more Buffy and Cyrus based. She started off as kind of past Buffy in the present. Competitive and arrogant. Then she caught TJ and became a slight Cyrus rival. Good to mention that Amber, Andi’s rival, got redeemed. Buffy’s rival, TJ, also got redeemed. So here’s hoping that our Cyrus rival also gets a small redemption in the finale, even if it’s a minor one.
Well-Known Ships: N/A (Though Cyrus thought she was with TJ)
Tumblr media
Anson Bagley, thank you for playing Gus. He’s always been someone we loved, even if he was only here for decades at a time.
Gus was our favorite support character. He’s part of student court, he started a lunch riot when there were A and B groups, and he’s an honorary space otter. Not much else can be said, except that he’s quirky and awkward. For that, he’s one of our favorites.
Well-Known Ships: N/A (Unless you count the millions of crackships)
Tumblr media
And finally, we have the best for last. Thank you Terri Minsky, for creating the show we all know and love. I never saw Lizzie McGuire as a kid, and now that I’m a teen, it’s nice to have an idea of what kind of show that was. You’ve broken so many stereotypes with your show, and I’m hoping you make something great for the next generation.
I remember joining this after season 1 had ended, and I binged the entire season because it was just too good. Andi Mack is my favorite show, and I’m sad it’s now over, but regardless, it was the best thing I could ever watch. It seems like Disney is making a comeback with good shows (mainly cartoons), but I’m excited to see what they make next.

So... that scene in the bowling alley where Buffy hurts her leg and Marty goes to help her really stuck with me for some reason. And now I know why. Whether it was intentional or not, this has a lot of parallels to Once Upon A Time.
It starts off where Buffy gets injured and Regina is from a sword wound.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marty and Robin go to help them while their date/wife is there as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this panel, Rachel is already jealous of Marty and Buffy, while Zelena is more on the attitude of “she ruined my special day.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Regardless, both seem to show very little care that someone is hurt. Which in my opinion, is somewhat weak writing for the scene, but both shows were still great, nonetheless.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Green with envy, they run off to do some dumb angsty stuff.

While I am also sad about the end of Andi Mack, it’s kind of humorous to see this entire tag going through a “5 Stages of Grief” kind of thing. Note that none of these quotes are exact. It’s paraphrased for most of them.
Denial: “Please say ‘psyche.’” “No! This can’t be the end!”
Anger: “They cancelled it?! This is homophobic!” “Where is Disney? I just wanna talk!”
Bargaining: “Maybe it’s not too late to get the petitions signed to continue the show.” “Maybe another network will pick it up.”
Depression: “I’m so sad that my show is ending!” “My heart is so broken!”
Acceptance: “It’s for the best. This show was losing traction.” “At least it did so much in its time, and now it opens the door for other shows.”

What Do I Want For Flash Season 6?
Keep Nora on the show, but as a villain. Whether it’s the big bad or recurring, I think evil Nora would be an interesting concept.

I went on this rant on a couple of days ago explaining why the way they got rid of Jibby was badly-written. I went off on a tangent as to a huge potential storyline they could've done if we found out Jonah was still with Libby, and therefore, cheating on her. Then I realized, I could write about it! So here's the story...
—————————
Andi, Buffy, and Cyrus all watched in shock as Jonah and Amber shared a kiss under the gazebo.
"Anyone else feel like their eyes are burning?" Andi asked. The other two didn't answer.
Once the kiss ended, Jonah and Amber shared a hug after, then proceeded to split up, prompting the trio to run from the scene.
They make their way to the Spoon, and drop onto a table, completely out of breath from sprinting. "What did we just witness?" Cyrus says, "Because I think we just saw something we shouldn't have seen."
Buffy remarks, "Jonah and Amber? Back together? I thought they were a really toxic couple. How did that happen?"
"And what about Libby?" Andi mentions. "Did they break up? Last I checked, they were still together!"
The three take a moment to recollect their thoughts. Andi takes a deep breath. "What are we going to do?"
Cyrus shrugs. "We could either stay out of this—"
"Which we probably aren't going to do," Buffy interrupts.
"—or we could try tell someone."
"Which we also probably won't do." Andi checks her phone, before coming to a realization. "Maybe we should check in with everyone to make sure we're on the same page. Cause as of right now, we're assuming a lot of things."
Cyrus raises his hand. "I'll take Jonah. He'll be more open if it's a guy to guy talk."
Andi shakes her phone a bit. "I'll talk to Libby and see if they broke up first. That leaves Buffy with..."
"...Amber. I'll ask about Jonah and see if she knows anything." Buffy stands up with her fists clenched, causing Cyrus to stand and block her way.
"B, don't fight her, okay? It's just a talk."
"C, I don't care what happens to her."
Cyrus looks at Andi. "A, a little help?"
"Buffy, Cyrus is right. We need her alive."
"I'll be fine, Andi. She will too, assuming she's innocent." Buffy walks out to locate Amber.
"Should we be worried?" Cyrus asks.
"I have faith Buffy can control herself." Andi stands up as well. "I'm going to go try meet up with Libby; see what I can uncover."
Cyrus takes out his phone and sits back down in the booth. He sends Jonah a quick text asking to meet him at the Spoon, and Jonah agrees. The waitress comes up to Cyrus asking for an order. "Just water, please."
—————
Buffy spots Amber near a clothing store, checking out some new outfits. "Okay, Buffy. Spill, don't kill." She walks over, waving at Amber. "Amber, hey!"
Amber looks up and waves back. "Hi, Buffy. What are you doing here?"
"Just trying to see if I can find some exercise clothing. My old ones are getting a bit small."
"There's a rack of them next to me if you want to look."
"Sure." Buffy begins to look through some of the outfits. "I just noticed. You seem... peppier than usual. You got something on your mind?"
Amber covers her mouth, thinking she was smiling. "Am I that obvious?"
"You have no idea," Buffy replies.
"Well, there is... a guy."
"Really? Tell me all about it!"
"You promise you won't judge? Cause it's kind of dumb."
"I'll try, but I make no promises."
"Jonah and I are back together."
"Really? I never would've guessed. What happened?"
"We just realized we liked each other again. So we thought we'd give it another go. Don't worry, I'm not going to go all mean girl again," Amber says as she slides a piece of hair away from her eyes.
Buffy holds up a neon pink exercise shirt, to which Amber shakes her head. "It's weird. Last I checked, Jonah was dating someone else."
"You mean Libby? Jonah mentioned her. Said she broke up with him before we started dating again. It's weird that he moved on so fast, but I won't question him about it." Amber points at the navy blue shirt hanging on the rack. "Try that one."
Buffy holds it against her, releasing a sigh of relief. "Well, if you're happy, then I am too."
—————
Andi finds Libby and Jonah sitting underneath a tree in the park. Immediately, her suspicions begin to dial up. "Jonah, Libby!"
Jonah looks up, prompting Libby to as well. They both wave at her as she jogs towards them. "Hey, Andi," Jonah says. "What are you doing here?"
"I texted Libby earlier, and asked if we could hang out."
"That's great. I was actually about to go meet up with Cyrus. Guess you can keep each other company." Jonah hugs Libby, then proceeds to hold out his palm, close it, and open it again. The sign for "goodbye."
Andi sits next to Libby and Jonah strolls away. Andi didn't stall for a second, signing as she speaks, "So, you and J-Dimple? How's that going?"
"(It's going great. I'm teaching him sign language,)" Libby signs.
"Teaching him? That's pretty cool. But I mean, how is your relationship?"
"(Better than before. We're going ice-skating soon. Something he's planning to teach me.)"
Andi felt discomfort from that statement, but managed to keep a happy expression. "That's so adorable! I'm just... so happy for you!"
—————
Cyrus waits patiently for Jonah to enter the diner. To pass the time, he texts TJ a list of his favorite muffins, to which he replies with some of his own. Jonah enters the door and Cyrus slides his phone into his pocket. "Jonah!"
"Hey, Cy. Why'd you want to meet up?"
"Oh, you know. Just to have some guy talk. Like we used to."
Jonah sits down across from Cyrus. "Okay. What do you want to talk about?"
"Whatever you want."
Jonah finds difficulty in thinking of a subject. "Umm, you're gay. What's that like?"
"It's... different than what I'm used to, but I'm starting to accept it. Uh, how are you and Libby?"
"She's teaching me sign, so that's something. I know how to spell my name now," he replies as he begins to move his hands around.
"Ehh, you're close. But that spells, 'Jomah.' It's two fingers before the thumb, not three."
"Oh... sorry."
"Don't be. You're getting better. And I'm glad you're trying something new. And how about Amber?"
Jonah's head shoots up. "Amber?"
Red lights were flashing in Cyrus' head. "Yeah. You're able to confide in her because of the thing. It must feel great having a friend to talk to about this.
Jonah begins to show a nervous look. "Uhh, Yeah. She's a great friend. I just remembered, I have to go. Catch you later?"
"You know it. Later."
As Jonah exits, Cyrus slips his phone back out just as the girls return to the Spoon. "I was just about to text you both. Jonah's cheating. He says he and Libby are still together, and when I brought up Amber, he got scared and left.
"That can't be true," Buffy says. "Amber told me Libby broke up with Jonah."
Andi shakes her head. "Libby said that she and Jonah were still together. He lied to Amber."
Cyrus places his water glass down. "Why would Jonah do this?"
"What's more important on the moment is whether we should tell Amber and Libby."
"We're telling them," Buffy says.
"No we shouldn't. That's going to make things way worse."
The two look at Andi, who is now the deciding vote. "It's on you, Andi. Is it going to be a lie where everyone is happy, or a truth where no one is?"
To Be Continued... Because I'm Evil and I Love Cliffhangers...

Unpopular Jibby Opinion?
I think Jonah should’ve cheated on Libby. To start it off, it actually feels more realistic than those two being in a really good spot and then suddenly they break up.
Then there’s the drama and plot factor. It would be interesting to have seen how the GHC treats Jonah if he cheated — and if they brought Millicent back — how Libby would react. We could explore a different storyline. What caused Jonah to go back to Amber all of a sudden? Would Amber have known that Jonah has another girl? Would the GHC try to tell Libby? And how would they treat Amber?
The other thing is, we don’t have long term cheating storylines. In the past Disney shows, the person gets caught and the issue is resolved within the same episode. Andi Mack could’ve tried a longer storyline regarding the facts of Jonah cheating, and go more in depth on the effects it can have on others.
You know what? I’m going to write a oneshot fanfiction on this!

Short Rant On Each Storyline
There were a couple of things that crossed my mind while watching the latest episode, and some of these are in response to some theories others may have had.
For starters, I’ve noticed how Amber is low-key going back to her old roots from Season 1. I’m not talking about the whole mean-girl stuff, but more along the lines of constantly asking for attention from Jonah. I’m not an expert of dating, but the things Jonah listed (liking her InstaPic, sending selfies, constantly texting) all seem to be overdoing it a bit with the whole couple thing.
While we’re talking about Jonah, let’s mention how Jonah and Libby suddenly broke up. While I’m glad Jonah’s not cheating on Libby, I honestly think the story would’ve taken a better twist if he was. Last we saw, Jibby was in a good spot, and now they broke up out of nowhere, which is actually a bit disappointing to me.
Next up, there’s the theory of how Kira was being homophobic when she manipulated TJ. In all honestly, I don’t believe it. I doubt she could know that about TJ. There was a theory spiraling around about how Kira did that to hurt Cyrus, because by extension, it would hurt Buffy. I have no clue what’s going on through Kira’s mind, but I highly doubt there was a homophobic motive.
Then we have Bex’s decision to cancel the wedding. It’s a bit annoying to see her taking a step back. I would be more on board with this storyline, but Bex already had doubts about the wedding back in Season 2. Then she wanted to get married, and now she doesn’t again.

Andi Mack 3x13 Promo Recap
I’m a couple days late on this, but I still wanted to make this. I’m changing this to recap instead of analysis since that’s what I basically do in these.
Plot A: Costume Day
Tumblr media
Before I say anything else, let’s just acknowledge the evolution of Metcalf. The same guy who announced Costume Day was the same guy who had the strictest dress code rules ever. That is progress!
As for the plot itself, here’s what we know. Andi gets a notification about the event, to which she later states their plan to go as Mount Rushmore. This is what I’m calling the setup storyline because it trails into what I believe to be three more.
Plot B: Potential Betrayal #1
Tumblr media
As we know, Tall Lover Boy comes up to Less Tall Lover Boy and invites him as his partner for CD. Based on the shoulder bumping, a lot of people knew Cyrus would be split on his friend and crush. Not even three seconds later, this line comes up.
Tumblr media
“Do you think Andi will still be my friend if I bail on Mount Rushmore?”
Plot C: Potential Betrayal #2
Tumblr media
Here’s what I’m predicting over this one scene. Marty is going to come up to Buffy asking to partner with him for Costume Day.
To make it worse, this will be after Buffy gives Cyrus a lecture on not bailing. Just a prediction, though.
Plot D: Bail Mail
Tumblr media
Andi, trying to finding a sheet for MR, instead locates the unmailed wedding invitations that Bex refused to send.
Tumblr media
We’re going to get a scene of Bex revealing her doubt on the wedding, and that causes the scene of Andi walking out of the house.

Evolution of Cyrus Coming Out
I watched the other coming out scenes and I’m sure you’ve all noticed how much Cyrus has changed in these, and how different each scenario was for when he did.
I got these screenshots from various YouTube videos, btw. Not sure if I have to mention that, but I will just in case.
Tumblr media
In the first one, Cyrus tells Buffy out of a need for comfort and support. He felt weird, different, and while he didn’t say it, alone. He couldn’t tell Andi and Jonah because they were together. He couldn’t talk to his parents, out of fear they wouldn’t like him or that they wouldn’t understand.
He told Buffy because she was the only person who couldn’t be truly affected by knowing this about Cyrus. And watching that bloom to undying love from Buffy to Cyrus shows. He starts to smile again, crack a joke, and realize he can be himself around Buffy.
Tumblr media
For the second one, it may actually be the complete opposite. When Cyrus tells Andi, he’s not looking for someone to help him. He’s coming out as a way to help someone else.
As we all know, Andi just had an issue with Jonah, and Cyrus steps in, comes out, and helps Andi realizes that she’s not alone with the whole Jonah situation. She and Cyrus can talk to each other about how they feel about him.
Tumblr media
As for this scene, Cyrus doesn’t feel any need for comfort, and no one around him who’s struggling with something would benefit directly from him coming out. He never got to tell Bubbe Rose, and now he wants to tell more people.
He knows he wants it to be the right time, so after Jonah’s panic attack, he delays it to help him out. And when he tells Jonah, it’s not exactly the perfect time.
I don’t know if it just slipped out like that, or if he realized that there’s no perfect time and so he should just say it, but it’s jaw-dropping either way when he says the words, “I’m gay.”
But in my eyes, that wasn’t the part that made the most impact. The fact that he told Jonah just for the sake of letting him know is what made me happy. He wasn’t looking for any support. He just wanted Jonah to know.
