I’m taking a moment to mention how grateful I am for my bestie @mamakinpics. This wouldn’t be happening without our 17 years of friendship. The project is actually an extension of the friendship. The idea came about because we where whinging to each other on the phone about how hard it is to be an independent artist, especially a solo one, and then a few moments later the whole plan was made - make a band just the two of us, that wouldn’t compromise our families or health. An honest and sincere body of work that united people in joy in a communal way through singing together wherever people would have us. That was maybe 2 years ago? And here we are today, with profoundly supportive families, mostly healthy ( I just realised I might be gluten intolerant tho 😭 ) managing the band, with an inspiring and powerful team, and choirs we consider family across the world! These nominations from @aria_official wam_musicwa and nlmas18 are the shiny stars you put on the fridge after you’ve cleaned your room and brushed your teeth. Also this wouldn’t be happening without the intense support of my amazing wife @umaspender who has made huge sacrifices and invested enormous amounts of energy too. This was taken from my spot behind the mic crammed in with a 14 piece choir standing BEHIND THE BAR! We played 2 shows, first as full of kids and babies, then later, passionate and amazing listeners.
