Year 10 art mock GCSE. grade 6 (high B/ 60%) 1 mark off grade 7 (A/70%)

But nevertheless i am sooo heckin happy with how this piece turned out😊

The whole theme is based over mandraked and the idea of how human like they are. I did my best to show this by personifying the plant into 3 crying baby heads as babys are needy to survive (e.g they need to be fed and cleaned and looked after) and so are plants.

The reason they are crying is that their roots have grown so big that they have busted out the plant pot. The legend of the mandrake is that if you pull their roots out the ground they will scream so loud that it will kill the person who pulled their roots out from their bed. I portrayed this with exposing their roots and distorted their faces.

You may question why i decided to paint purple barf looking soil😂😂 well simply because i wanted to show that the unusual mandrake plant is growing from unusual soil. Basicaly the plant is just freakish and unusual.

I used the 3 primary colours which also make up the skin tones of a human face if mixed togeather. The reason i did 3 seperate heads though is due to the fact that the plant has a line drawn from where it is human and where it is not. I believed that if i did mix the colours, the piece would have just lost itself and id just be painting a human baby growing on a plant. I used an artist called Andy Marsh (tattoo artist in london) for inspiration and i believe i have threaded some of his work and style into my final piece.

Finally the paint streaks all over the background are there to represent the sound of the babys crys and screams. Like how you would hear a scream on a video game and the world would shake or your controller would shake. I tryed portraying that shake effect on camera with streaks going over the primary image and the foreground.

Just did my assessment while writing this so um.... yeah cool 😂 anyways if you read this far lemme know by writing "lemon in a dirty sock" so i know i wasnt just rambling for nothing :")

One time I checked out the first book of the Larten Crepsley saga from my school library.While I was reading it I noticed it had a funny smell and my eyes started to get watery for no apparent reason.Then after a while I moved the book and a MOTHA FUCKING PIECE OF GARLIC FELL OUT OF THE BOOK.I gues it was between the cover and the book,like someone actually fucking put a piece of garlic in a book about vampires.
