Hey, everyone,
I’m sorry for the lack of update. I am going through tough times. Therefore, this blog page is suspended indefinitely. I won’t be back with any review or anything for a while. To be honest, I don’t know if I will ever. My motivation is gone, my mind isn’t thinking clearly, and I just wish this year would go away already.
But I’ll be fine. I promise you. I won’t go there in case my message worries you. Perhaps one day I’ll explain. For now, I need time to gather up and recover. This year has been hell for many if not all of us. It’s a scary time, but we must stay strong together. We will overcome fear.
I’m sorry for this type of message. I hope you all stay strong, be safe, and most of all, cheerful. I’ll see you all one day.

Update: Hardships and Headaches
It has been a grueling week (so far). As you already know by now, unless you’re like that guy who just found out recently, the world is in panic due to COVID-19. People are flipping out, stores are cleaning house (no pun intended), and many places are closing or closed down. The work’s moral has dropped greatly. Call it exaggeration, but it did dampen the mood. Time like this, streamers might be the best job to go for. In all seriousness, my week has been pretty rocky.
Although the work environment has lost its comfy feel, it wouldn’t stop me from working on the usual stuff. The problem that would have slowed me down (knock on wood) is the virus. Terrifyingly enough, I thought I caught it. I was down under with a headache that forced me to stay in bed for a whole day. Not sure watching stuff did more harm though. I had to call it sick the next day. The next day, I was better, but they insist me to stay one more day, which is reasonable. By Wednesday, I was good to go, but my motivation was already dead.
Coming back from a cold had me lose all tracks on what I wanted to do. To make matter worse, my family have a flu. They don’t have that virus, though they are seeking for second run at the test. My mind was completely focused on them. Everything else was tossed out of the window. I tried to get back in order, but like a writer’s block, I hit the wall. It was a mess. It’s why you didn’t hear anything from me with reviews and such.
As of now, they are recovering. My mind is back on track without worries or fears running through my mind. Sure, I will continue to look after them, but to keep my mind positive and forward, I have to step up and not let panic get to me. Starting now, I will catch up on my reviews and go back to normal routine until further notice. I am definitely behind, but I will go in like it’s still fresh.
It’s definitely a difficult time for all of us. I would never imagine the world would be in this state. While I do think it’s a bit exaggerated at certain point, it is best to be safe for you and your family. In due time, we will pull through. Take care.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Chapter 197 Review
youtube
The dawn is nearly here. Muzan is at the weakest state of his lifetime, all thanks to the goddess or she-devil Tamayo. Everything seems to favor the Demon Slayer Corps. The only problem is, everyone is too at their weakest state. It’s no excuse to rest or stop; they must fight until they drop dead. It’s now or never.
Before the action resume, we got one last bit with Tamayo in her everlasting sadism. Reminds me of Tokyo Ghoul, where a woman embraces a man to drive the fear down to the core. It’s not about making Pillars stronger than Muzan, rather weakening him. It’s the best course of action when dealing with an overpowered villain. She let him know that they share the same drive, only instead, everyone wants him dead. Got to love her for clawing his face. What goes around, comes around.
Muzan reflects the past actions. Everything up to the point drugs go to use was easy to deal with. Unless he’s up against Yorichi, nothing would have harmed him. But because of the drugs, it vastly changed everything; like removing invincibility mode in a video game. Basically, Tamayo turned the tide. Thank God Ubuyashiki called her up to work together. Otherwise, well, you get the picture. My only concern is Muzan planning to analyze the drugs and try to adapt them. If that happens, then it’s game over. The stakes are at all-time high.
Just before Tanjiro makes his move, Muzan, all the sudden, bursts out electro ball shock within his radius. He struck down Iguro and Tanjiro in a matter of a second. I didn’t see that coming; I was accustomed to his hack and slash performance. Muzan mutated his body further, now have a mouth for a body. It’s bizarrely cool. The electric shock didn’t only damage them; it paralyzed them.
The tension runs higher and higher when Tanjiro can barely breathe. I know he’s the protagonist, but this disturbs me greatly with his monologue breaking up apart. His expression doesn’t help either; the boy is in sheer pain. Arguably, the scariest part is Iguro, who has disappeared for the rest of the chapter. He was really close to Muzan before the surprise attack. Tanjiro was far away, yet he took serious damages. I got a bad feeling about his condition. He may be on the verge of death. Also, I believe the tag went out. I’m afraid to see him again.
The crow was killed off, which means the countdown clock is off. Now the Pillars will have to guess on the timer. Muzan is an animal serial killer. This affected Ubuyashiki Family since they tied their visions to the crow. One of the girls does say that they only have 25 minutes left. They’re so, so close. Muzan is walking off and Tanjiro can’t get up at all. Seriously, I don’t want to even know Iguro’s condition. All hope seems to be lost until the most interesting man in the world arrives.
Out comes Inosuke, who I couldn’t applaud any louder. Thank God Muzan is weakened; can’t use his techniques. The standout part of this confrontation is Inosuke’s monologue. At first, I thought he was talking about his prideful self as usual, which is a norm of his character. But it finally hit me when he start listing the injuries or to be exact, the loss of limbs from his comrades. It actually sadden me to hear the prices they paid with their bodies. He wants Muzan to take them back; otherwise, die a million times. The overflow tears through the mask hits me hard. Sometimes, I don’t want this series to end.
Inosuke tried, but Muzan struck him badly with some monstrous worm-like attack. Once more, all hope seems to be lost until another most interesting man in the world arrives. Out comes Zenitsu, saving Inosuke’s life, and he too has a standout monologue to boot.
This time, it’s about Tanjiro, telling him not to die. Nezuko is going to turn human again, and when this war is over, they can go back home together; back to where the family is waiting. Now I can see why he single-handed saved this series. Granted, it’s a theory from fans, but this moment really remind them why he is so beloved by many. All sincere, all greatness.
The action rages on. Inosuke returns the favor by saving Zenitsu’s life in the nick of time. Still, the two are in danger and Tanjiro has to find a way to get back up. The moment when he’s about to stab himself is quite unnerving. It’s been since Edward from Full Metal Alchemist that has me cringing when it involves with impalement. It’s the only option he has left; he has to stab himself to break free. He doesn’t even know if it will work. He also has to be really careful on where to stab. I didn’t think a realistic approach would play here, so it’s all the more reason to cringe at the possibilities.
The chapter ends with a sign that the epic climax is fast approaching. Muzan is weakened to the point of exhaustion. While he’s battling against the two upcoming Pillars, the current ones are on their way. Giyu and Himejima are barely up, but won’t stay down until they are dead. Giyu is going to fight with one arm; that’s hell of a commitment. Wonder how his fighting style would work now. As for Himejima, the bite on the chains says it all. His death flag is the highest, especially when Yushiro said he can’t fight anymore. My guess is his time is here. It will suck, but at least he will die for the sake of humanity.
This was a gripping chapter that built the climax as the most epic endpoint yet. I adored the beginning with Tamayo going off with the last laugh. Tanjiro’s agony was cringe-worthy, in a good way though. Inosuke and Zenitsu were the stars here with their monologue, expressing their feelings for their comrades. The action was pretty good and with the Pillars on their way, it will be intense. It’s all leading to the final stand from all fronts. The dawn is coming…

My Hero Academia Chapter 263 Review
youtube
It’s time to take a break from a battle and enter another one; this time, in a battle royal fashion. Attacking the lab is one thing, but the HQ is the big target point. Whether Ujiko will escape or not, the attention shift to the other batch of heroes springing into action. The shine, however, comes from a student and it is long overdue.
The last chapter ended with Skeptic alerting villains that the heroes are coming. It was a sign of transition taking place prior to this chapter; focusing on how the heroes start their invasion. This section contains both classes from U.A., meaning it’s only matter of time before we see them in action. However, most of them are in the rear guard position, who handle those who slip past the front line, so they won’t get involved until later on. But, you never know.
The invasion is starting, though Mineta tries not to get ready for any incoming battle. I mean he tried to justify a reason with getting ready means guaranteed loss for the front line, but that doesn’t cut it. He tried at least. As stated earlier, many students are on standby, but must be on guard at all cost. That said, the ones that are in the front line are Tokoyami and Kaminari, who was last seen crying for his friends. It turns out it’s designed for him to get his shine, and it happens right here, right now.
The front line is ready to make their move, but Kaminari is terrified as hell. I wonder if it’s a current trend to have characters associate with lightning as cowards. Anyway, I don’t recall the last time he got a focus like this; being part in an action doesn’t count for me. Midnight reassured him that he’s needed for his Quirk. Kaminari still can’t contain his fear. Tokoyami tries to help out when he recalls the time when he watched him play a guitar; calling him amazing. Kaminari still cries. Out of context, it does sound rather random, but it’s only because Tokoyami didn’t phrase it well. It would mean more later on.
If you recall the last chapter’s last panel, the building appeared to split in half. That was because of Cementoss, who practically ignited the war. Skeptic calls off the meeting, I mean you can clearly see why, and call out the factions this instant. One villain with a scar and a cig comes out, looking like a sub-boss. Cementoss did some serious damages to the HQ, as seen in a neat double-page spread, but the villains are coming. It’s war time.
Shinya warns every hero to take everyone down, leaving no one to escape. This does not calm Kaminari down whatsoever. It doesn’t help that Shinya technically told them that these villains will fight to the death. Maybe if he sleeps, he will unlock a new ability. At this rate, he will be completely useless. Midnight gives one advice that will put him at ease; bonus, a shipping moment.
Her advice is to think of a person that matter to him the most right now. He did yell for his friends. However, either it’s suggestive or clearly stated, out of his friends, Jiro is the person that matters the most. She encourage him from afar to get it done, so they can get back together. She is worried about him, which she made it known earlier in the chapter.
Tokoyami didn’t phrase it correctly, but his intention is in the right place. What he tried to say is Kaminari has a heart of gold for his friends; deeply care for them. To add more fuel for the pairing fans of Jiro and Kaminari, the flashback shows the time when he was practicing the guitar to help her stage performance. He will do whatever he can for his friends. That’s what he meant, and ultimately lead to the moment where the villain just so happen to have lightning strike attack.
Kaminari musters his courage and save the heroes by redirect the attack towards him like a lightning tower. No more of his weak, cowardly self; when a character put on a shade, it’s time for greatness. This was nice to see. Good for him to manned-up right on time. It’s a coincidence for sure, but it was still a neat moment nonetheless.
Arguably the main highlight is at the end. We went from Mirko to Kaminari. Now, it looks like it is Hawks’ turn and at last, it’s time to backstab the villains. First up, Twice. The look on his face is the face of broken friendship; the worst kind of betrayal. Better hope he can transform into a titan. In all seriousness, the last double-page spread is my favorite. The break must have helped a lot for Kohei-sensei to draw these cool panels.
Overall, this was a nice chapter. The war has begun and by that, I mean directly against a legion of villains. While it did focus more on Kaminari, it’s good to see a character from Class 1-A to receive a spotlight. Bonus, it had a pairing moment for shippers to be delighted. The art is really good, lots of double-page spreads with fine details. The best one (to me) is the last one with Hawks in silhouette, act of betrayal unfolding with Twice being the victim. It was a matter of time. The good time is over, even when it doesn’t exist.

People saying that Black Clover chapters are too short. Why?
They are shorter than usual, but the sequence does hold up. Art as well. It’s probably due to his schedule with family and work. We’ll see.

What do you think about Dragon Ball Super? Many people say it was a mistake, many say it is better than GT.
It’s a fun series with rough beginnings. It can’t replicate DBZ atmosphere but it can carry forward with the materials they obtained from Toriyama-sensei himself. It’s better than GT, though I don’t really have much hatred towards it. All in all, enjoyable and I didn’t mind. Maybe if it was like the beginnings, then I would have a second thought, but yeah, it’s good.

Question About Black Clover: Which side of the upcoming events are the most interesting for you now? The "Heart Kingdom Side" or the "Black Bull Side"?
I would say Heart Kingdom, but the recent development from Black Bull has me incredibly invested. I was expecting another beat down like with Golden Dawn, but the purpose differs with Dante’s interest expanding. Not only he wants Vanessa thanks to her stage, but he is toying Asta to unlock his Devil stage. Now, I don’t know how this will end.

What can make difference between "sudden plot twist" and "asspull"? I mean, nobody would except if Uchiha Madara would appear in My Hero Academia or Mirko defeats all the Black Nomus by herself, right? But would they be "good twists"?
Sudden plot twist would be something that has been hinted or contributed for a while and it’s justified with the theme or sequence. Asspull would something that didn’t warrant because of the flow. Say Mirko was on the verge of dying and High-Ends are still fresh. All the sudden, she has second life because she just does apparently, and then take all of them alone. Oddly enough, the recent film sort of did that, but I can’t say more if you haven’t seen it.
If she defeats them alone, I wouldn’t consider either, depending how the battle went, but end result would make feel High-Ends aren’t so big deal anymore. That can be bad. It will follow the Shounen law to always find a new way to advance the enemy, which can grow old. One aspect I appreciate KnY is they made Upper Moon serious threat to the very end. Whether the series will go further or not, it forever staples them as credible and fortunate to never deal with them ever again.
