Not to be a Boomer but your social media should be your own space, not something employers are allowed to look at to judge you beyond the qualifications stated in your resume and cover letter
in case no one has reminded you today: you're loved, you'll get where you need to be and you're not alone. your struggles are seen and your sacrifices aren't in vain. burnout won't drag you down eventually. eat your comfort food, drink your favourite juice, watch your favourite movie. you deserve it! I'm proud of you and I love you. I hope you grow to realise this eventually. you're doing great! :-] <3
Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.
i see so many posts like “i wish i could bring a plush with me in public!” and like the good news is that u can! 90% of people will never say anything and the other 10% will usually be like “oh cute!” i knew a girl in college who would bring multiple stuffed animals to class and set them on the desk and no one ever cared. like maybe you’ll get the occasional person to ask why, but just saying “why not” or “well look at the lil guy” is usually enough to make people not push it. other people have a whole lot of more important things on their mind than to bother someone over a stuffed animal.
Doing leech research for a dnd character's animal companion/familiar (idk which it would count as or how it'll play I just want my boy to have weird bug friends <3) and now I might be a bit obsessed with the lil guys. You can buy them online for less than 30 bucks too 👀👀👀
Also if anyone that owns or just loves these silly goobers feel free to share fun facts or stories of your babies I would love the input!
