its a parody.
How frustrated were the folks at Antifa?
“Well this video is going around, I hope it’s real, maybe it’s fake, but if it’s not I hope it’s real, of a black bloc guy trying to lift up a trash can because he wants to hurl it through a window, he neglects to see that the thing is bolted down to the cement.” - Ben Shapiro

And that was pretty much a good summary of Antifa’s night last night. [x]

Nihilism
The extreme skepticism of existence, the denial or outright rejection of objective fact and truth.
Reality and objectivity is actually an important thing to believe in. We suffer greatly if we ever abandon it. Reality orientates us - gives us direction, helps us discriminate between good/bad, etc. Reality exists independently of any single individual. I exist. I do not stop existing because you close your eyes, turn away, or tell yourself otherwise. regardless of rather you believe in reality or not, you are bond to its laws and, consequently, to the conclusions that follow them.
To deny reality and objective truth is to abandon any sense of orientation, any ability to discriminate between two things and to abandon the believe in a truth that transcends the individual. To replace the belief in objectivity with the belief that everything is subjective and constructed allows you and I to hold an idea that we both believe to be true while contradicting each other simultaneously.
You are not allowed to tell me my truth is incorrect and I am not allowed to do the same to you, doing so would be an invalidation of your truth, your existence, and give validity to a meaning outside of your own interpretations which is antithetical to the philosophy of nihilism.
You are not allowed to construct a value structure which discriminate between A and B which forms the basis for many of the decisions that we all make. becoming a doctor instead of a lawyer, dating Jennifer instead of Jessica, Brandon instead of Bradly, or Judy instead of Joshua. All are valid. To discriminate is to place the value of one above the other which is antithetical to the philosophy of nihilism.
All this sounds familiar in this current culture where individual experiences are being constantly inflated and used as social commentary or asserted as indicative of larger trends within society, a culture where you are not allowed to criticize these belief and to do so is to assert the validity of your truth over others which is akin to oppression.
These people who subscribe to these ideas always came off as extremely unseated and moronic to me, but as I typed this out it helped me understand how even the most extreme ideas have practical value and can be viewed as an attractive position to certain individuals especially those who are already bitter, resentful, hopeless, and deal with feelings of powerlessness or inadequacy. But everything comes with a cost of course.

-‘People used to turn to God when they were growing old and troubled and tired of the world. In the modern world we’ve got youth and happiness right up to the end. What follows? Evidently, that we can be independent of God. “Religious feeling will make up to us all our losses”, says the writer of these old books. But we haven’t any losses to be made up. We don’t need religious feeling.’
-‘Then you think there is no God?’
-‘No, I think there quite probably is one. But he shows himself in different ways to different men. In the old times he showed himself as the being that’s described in these books.’
-‘How does he show himself now?’
-‘Well, he shows himself as if he weren’t there at all. Where there is comfort there is no need for God’
-‘But I don’t want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin.’
‘You’re claiming the right to be unhappy. Not to mention the right to grow old and ugly and weak; the right to suffer disease; the right to have too little to eat; the right to live in constant fear of what may happen tomorrow; the right to fall a victim to pains of every kind.’
‘I claim them all.’

My Philosophy On Happiness/Sadness
Both happiness and sadness should be treated as natural emotions. They should be treated as being intrinsically linked to one another, you cannot have one without the other. Although happiness should be treated as the ideal emotion, discriminating against negative emotions is extremely unhealthy.
Its unhealthy on an emotional level; as, happiness does not come from the absence of sadness. Ignoring any element of who you are as a person is antithetical to true happiness, how else will a person confront the aspects of their personality that causes them to be unhappy or traps them in perpetual misery. Afterall, people are deeply flawed, and not every threat to your happiness comes from the outside.
Its unhealthy on a pragmatic level: as, every emotion has practical value. Everything that makes a person happy or sad or frustrated gives insight into who that person is at their core, but most importantly, who you are at your core, and if you see something within yourself that you don’t like, you can change. Being happy with who you are is the genesis of true happiness.

If there’s one thing i leave on this website
i want to highlight the importance of perspective. the importance of proportion. and the importance of self awareness. understand the importance that people are for themselves and not for you. they have their own thoughts, ideas, opinions, feelings, etc. and no matter how much you believe they might benefit from thinking, behaving, or believing what you want them to, you aren’t an authority to force yourself into them. allow differences. it’s ok. understand the importance that not everything that elicits an emotion out of you, especially negative ones, demands the same response or even a response at all. understand the importance that you are not always correct and your feelings should not always be respected. just because someone makes you angry, sad, or whatever negative emotion does not necessarily mean they’ve done something wrong and need to apologize. every situation, good or bad, demands self reflection. i hope the best for everyone even those who hope the worst on me and others. i hope the self destructive aspect of your being that resides in all of us that seeks to manifest suffering in your life doesn’t make you a victim of your own emotions for too long.
