Dr. Iceberg is lowkey one of my favorite doctor for the pure fact that no one seems to be able to make up their minds about him. Some people makes him soft, other make him more chaotic than Bright. Some mix both into it. I like the openness of his character!
Steven Universe was a show with hilarious characters but very emotional scenes. It was a mix of humor, reality and sensitive topics meant for kids, teens and adults of all ages. With its bright, beautiful colors to its dark messages, today I bring you why Steven Universe means so much to me.
I'm not much of a long term watcher. I've seen a few episodes come out while the show was still new. I had just turned 7 on May 19th when the pilot premiered on May 21st of 2013. I wasn't very into the show and didn't bother watching it episode by episode. The last week of August, beginning of September of 2019, an online friend suggested I watch Steven Universe. I obliged and got so into the show from the very first episode. After I finished the show, I watched the movie right after. This marathon took about a week, messing up my sleep schedule for school. With its relatable characters, problems and moments, I knew the show was fit. I cried a bunch of times watching such sad episodes and laughed at some funny ones. I'm 14, about to be 15 and I'm still in love with a lot of animated series.
Steven Universe has greatly impacted my life from learning to love myself as a person, learning to love others no matter what they look like, learning to take on challenges head on and to always put my mind to whatever I want to achieve. As I said before, I started watching Steven Universe before school started. I started my freshman year at high school and didn't have any friends. On the first day of school, I was able to be myself and make friends. I was so scared that I would be alone but by being myself and putting friendship on my mind, the challenge of making friends didn't seem like a challenge anymore.
Steven Universe is more than a show to me. It's an inspiration to me and a support to all the troubles I've gone through. Watching it end is going to break my heart so much, pieces will be gone. I will try to keep this show in my heart for as long as I live.
I just wanted to say, thank you Rebecca Sugar, for such an amazing show. Thank you to the animators and the cast members for making this show a reality for Rebecca. I will truly miss this show greatly and I'll have difficulty trying to rewatch it all the way from where it all started.
It's been a good 7 years Rebecca. Thank you for an opportunity for sharing your inspiration with viewers like me.
