[ // ] So, uh... I wanted to go ahead and excuse my lessening activity as of late, for about... a couple weeks now, at least?

I did tackle my finals, as previously mentioned— they were finished with excellent scores and such, but it was during and after that week that I felt my brain starting to turn itself off. Also, I'm not sure if it has too much to do with my writing motivation, but it seems my vitamin-D levels have been on the lower end, too.

[ // ] As such, I've mostly gone into my Spring Break feeling rather Head Empty™ and a bit tired... and with little writing done, unfortunately.

However, this does not mean my ideas have been lacking! I've a fresh muse on the roster, that being Morrigan, and I'm also considering even more as well. I've also still got my drafts in my sights (...yes, even if some might be a while coming now). Don't worry, I've still got them saved regardless.

As I take measures to get my energy back, I want to go ahead and eventually act upon those plans. In the meantime, I thank you all for your continuing patience, and for sticking with me.

KAREN COULD still pick up the lighter hesitation present in Jonathan's voice, as much as he may have wanted to hide his embarrassment. It only earned him a more knowing expression from her— perhaps she might have been a bit too insistent on being physically active, fond as she was of working out.

"Hey, it's all good to me, Johnny. I wouldn't mind us sharing a calmer afternoon this time... well, at least one that isn't all happenstance. And dinner, now? If we're going to be staying that long, I think I might need time to get myself prepared– not to mention the proper attire for a tub, you know."

Even if travel was going to be as convenient as a straight teleporter trip, she could only wonder if a swimsuit was the only thing she'd have to bring... but then again, it was her treat.

"Doing it today sounds mighty fine, in any case. Still, I think it'd be a matter of me taking one of the public teleporter lines back to the Prongs Building, for a change of clothes... I could really use something more casual than my usual uniform," she chuckled, glancing over herself through her crossed arms.

She seemed intrigued by his water-themed suggestion. And why shouldn't she be? His base was in the middle of a desert. Still, Jonathan couldn't help feeling pleased to see her curious what he had in mind. Over the time he'd gotten to know Karen, he'd come to care about what she found interesting, and wanted to supply that for her.

"A pool would be the most appropriate term," he replied. "I have a garage on the outskirts of town that I've built an in-ground tub in. More for soaking in than actual swimming, perhaps, but it's more than big enough for two people to hang out in, and I find it's a nice way to relax after a hard day's work." He tried not to feel embarrassed as he explained, hoping she wouldn't feel let down by the comparative tameness of the idea. "I have a teleporter connection between the garage and my place, so having dinner on-site would be no trouble at all."

IT SEEMED apparent enough to Derren that Tanith was sparing little time to dawdle... well, as much as she wanted to get herself relaxed.

To think it would need so much effort— in that case, he nodded with a half-chuckled "o'course," and set some portions of hojicha in their cups, regardless. Alas, there was less need for choice than there was for tea, if Tanith's impatience to get warm told him anything.

He felt his own eyes settle a little in relief, as he got closer to what now looked like an entire pillow-and-blanket nest the lamia had put together while he was still outside. Carefully placing the platter-carried tea set down, black stone kettle, cups, water pitcher and all, he slowly laid back next to a few pillows, pulling part of a blanket closer to himself for good measure.

One breath in... one breath out. He felt the surrounding warmth seeping back into his body before he noticed Tanith gingerly peeking out under another blanket. Over the course of a moment, he gathered the kettle, tipped some water into a cup, placed in a spoon... and with a serene look to match the air's heat, he handed it to her.

"Alright– heeere you go, dear... and do be careful, it's a bit hot... but it'll be a short moment before it's fine to drink. I'm sure it'll be enough to get your hands warm, right?"

She was slowly pulling her tail back through the doorway, inch by inch. The cold was forcing her to retreat back into the living room for some warmth because if she didn't go back, she would fall in a quick and cold nap. Not something to try and catch yourself in that moment before hitting the ground.

For the meantime, she rubbed her arms to create enough friction for heat while looking for blankets. She was preparing to make a comfy blanket fort to keep herself warm (and Derren once he was finished). Slowly, she was dragging one blanket, turning to three blankets. She was dragging every single pillow to make it comfy and sleep easily with a good cup of tea.

Perking up, she heard Derren's voice, returning through the front door. He was back from raking the leaves...

"Yeah... I'm grabbing all the blankets and comforters," she grumbled, slowly slithering underneath the pile of blankets. "The cold was a lot worse than I expected. I'm trying to not fall asleep... and I really need some of that tea, if you could make it..."
