What am I doing here?
The music is loud even after he’s left the room, its pounding in his ears and he doesn’t particularly hate it but its not pleasant. Kunimi’s hands are busy handling a cup he’d be so graciously been given not long after he’d step foot into the room and his shoulders are hunched up a little in a half-hearted attempt too shield his ears from the overwhelming noise. He’s not one for parties as they require socialization and there’s just people in this world he’d rather never have the displeasure of entertaining with dry conversation they’ll likely not remember in the morning, but he came anyways because his house around this time is no better and is more ‘Kunimi participate’ than he’s comfortable with. At least here he can play the role of the wallflower until he’s hunted out and dragged back into the fray.
He returns to the party after turning his nose up at the food because he’s not really hungry and stands out of the way looking up from his untouched cup every so often at the other party-goers. He has half a mind to leave early, but he doesn’t budge from his spot and instead focuses on the drink in his cup. When he’s aware of someone there with him in his space he grimaces because he’s not in the mood to talk so instead he takes a big swig of whatever’s in his cup so he doesn’t have to. Only it burns going down and is one of the worst ideas that he’s had and now Kunimi is grimacing for a whole other reason. He doesn’t like the burn or the taste of the warm almost foul tasting liquid on his tongue but beyond the grimace he doesn’t voice his displeasure.
He’s not doing that again and the person next to him doesn’t move so he resigns himself to actually say something to them. Kunimi sighs before he states simply, “Its too loud.”

Why does this keep happening.
Kunimi’s world is dark, not in a metaphorical deep sense or anything, no its just literally dark and really warm. He breathes out a soft huff but the warm air he’s released is trapped there around his face and in the fabric of the jacket caught around his head. He makes one more feeble attempt at tugging the garment over his head but after a few short tugs it doesn’t come loose. He’s already giving up and has half a mind to just try and pull the jacket back down over his head and go home with it. He knows he can’t but Kindaichi has already left and there’s next to no one left lingering around who can help him out of his dilemma. This isn’t the first time this has happened either, nor is it something that happens only on occasion, it really happens all the time if he’s being honest. He wouldn't admit to it as Kindaichi’s the only one who’s ever really witnessed his outstanding laziness and unwillingness to put the effort into trying to take it off like a normal person.
He thinks he’s saved when someone does open the door and waltz in, at least he thinks so, but if this is Oikawa he’s more doomed than saved and knows he might not hear the end of it. Still it could be Kindaichi coming back in to get him since he’s taking so long, but he doubts it. Still he calls out his name hoping to get some sort of response in return.
“Kindaichi?” no response “Not Kindaichi” he states, “Who?”
To be fair he doesn’t care who it is just if they’ll give him a hand so he can just go home without spending anymore time or energy trying to yank this jacket over his head.

Ah surprisingly enough this list is actually quite small, the list consists of Kindaichi, Oikawa, Hanamaki, Matsukawa, and Iwaizumi. He knows that he can trust every single one of these people with secrets and to give him the best advice either from experience or because they have a better heart than his. So its not uncommon to find him consulting any of them for something or the other be it personal or volleyball related reasons. Oikawa is one of the few people he trusts to talk about middle school problems and guilt when it arises, Kindaichi is the one he goes to for more personal problems, Hanamaki, Matsukawa, and Iwaizumi are the people he tends to lean towards for volleyball advice though that doesn’t mean he won’t got to Oikawa and even Yahaba from time to time for advice in that aspect. Sometimes Hanamaki is someone he’d turn to for more personal matters from time to time if its something he feels like he can’t even talk to Kindaichi about.

Kunimi is absolutely helpless. Oh he’s sure got is bad, though if you’d ever ask the team most of them would never have thought that Kunimi having a crush was something that was plausible. Love was hard and Kunimi didn’t do hard. Yet here’s Kunimi, crushing hardcore and no one’s suspected a thing. He holds his straight face, he says nothing to no one about it and goes about his life like normal. Yet he can’t help the slip ups of small smiles, louder laughter, and the occasional lingering look. Yet he’s fine with this, being like this and not confessing or pressing to further the relationship. After all he and Kindaichi are friends, perhaps even best friends, and that’s good enough for him. It should really come to no surprise that Kindaichi is the one holding his eye these days, after all there’s very few people in his life he’d ever try so hard for.

Oh boy that’s a list isn’t it, well there’s quite a few names on that list, his sister, Kindaichi, Oikawa, Hanamaki, Matsukawa, and well most of Seijou actually. Kunimi would never really raise a hand against anyone but if ANYONE outside of their friend group insults Oikawa, mess with any of his senpai, insults Kindaichi or even so much as looks at his little sister wrong and he’s already deep into plotting deaths that he was sure he could make look like accidents. However Kunimi’s best asset is his wit and his words so he may not be able to actually kill anyone, but he surely can kill them socially.

Kageyama Tobio, and he had every intention to hurt him and when he did hurt him, he wanted it to hurt. Kunimi isn’t a good person, and he’s aware of this, but even if he was he wouldn’t apologize for what he did. Pushing the team to ignore and abandon Kageyama, eventually getting the coach to bench him, Kunimi was the one who thought of it all. Though it wasn’t hard to get them to agree to it since no one else liked to play with Kageyama yelling at them the whole time. He was just so tired, so tired of being yelled at and pushed around by a tyrant king, tired of watching Kageyama’s demands and accusations break Kindaichi’s confidence in himself. He expects no apology from Kageyama and he won’t give on in return, that bridge had been burned and he has no plans to ever repair their damaged friendship.

Koganegawa from Dateko, he’ll never forget that idiot, just not for good reasons. He like a lot of other fellow first years embody the stupid line that he loathes to this very day, so of course Kunimi wouldn’t forget him, but the next time he meets him he might just pretend he did. And sometimes he wishes he could forget about him, but his name seems to keep popping up in Kunimi’s life and with it a new wave of frustration.

Tsukishima, for one, really the snippy things he has to say, the witty remarks, yeah he might just laugh a little over them. He’s one of those friends who has a sharp tongue like he does and Kunimi can say things around him that he can’t say around his other friends. Well maybe if he spent time with Yahaba then that wouldn’t be the case. Kenma doesn’t quite make him laugh like Tsukishima does as Kenma’s not exactly always funny, but there’s a thing or two he may add in his text messages that get a good laugh or two out of Kunimi.

Only three people among his friends have gotten Kunimi to actually laugh, this being Kindaichi, Hanamaki, and Matsukawa. He and Kindaichi have been friends for the longest time so its no surprise for him to have heard Kunimi laugh more than a handful of times. Hanamaki and Matsukawa, however, happen to be more on the lucky side for getting to make Kunimi laugh as they’ve had much less time with the younger. However, they did manage it a few times and might have gotten a few other to attempt to do the same with, less that stellar results.
The only other people able to make him laugh would be members of his own family, but those are very very rare occasions as his parents aren’t exactly around all the time and his sister is a bit young to make jokes that would really make her brother laugh.
