Twice as Fancy Applejack

Please say hello to my first ever custom pony, Twice as Fancy Applejack! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ The photos aren't great, I'm still learning, but here she is! I was inspired by @buwugy 's adorable drawing of Applejack as a twice as fancy pony and really wanted to try making it a reality (with a few of my own personal touches ;D)

The beginning and the end

The top 4 colors from the poll were pink, purple, green and blue! and between black and white, black was higher so thats what color i went with for the letters :3

Since we're talking about it again:

I brighten and destain ponies with hydrogen peroxide, not benzoyl peroxide.

Specifically, 40vol hair developer, which is 12% hydrogen peroxide mixed in with some other stuff to make a cream.

Benzoyl peroxide wreaks havoc on MLP vinyl completely bleaching out the colorant and that bleaching effect can transfer from pony to pony.

So far, no one knows how to stop the spread once it's begun.

Don't use benzoyl peroxide based pimple creams on ponies.

To brighten, deyellow, and destain My Little Pony, I use a combination of 40vol Cream Developer and heavy UV exposure (The SunBox). This is basic "retrobrighting".

I had someone on Instagram contact me after seeing my refreshing of Blueberry Baskets concerned about how the UV exposure would cause further damage down the line.

This is accurate! Once plastics start destabilizing, they keep on doing it no matter what you do. Retrobrighting isn't a cure for plastic yellowing, it only gives you a little more time.

There have been some blog posts (which I didn't save links to, of course, I never think to) from people that had refreshed old keyboard shells, left them in a closet for a few years, pulled them out again, and they were all yellow again.

As such, I've been checking in on Blueberry Baskets now and then to see how she's looking. It helps that she's a part of my personal collection.

These photos (taken 5/13/2022, 5/29/2022, and 8/13/2023 respectively) are NOT a perfect representation of color because I've changed my photo taking spot's lighting a bit and purchased some color-balance cards since I worked on Blueberry Baskets. It's evident in the softness and lessened saturation of the most recent photo.

You can see that she's a little bit yellow, again.

She's been on display in a basement that does get natural light, which is filtered through white fabric curtains.

I finally made a mothby!

This was a gift for my friend and was done by me and my sister. All my friend said was that she wanted earthy tones and do wild so we did! She named them lellow
