We barely speak about trauma on main since we never know how to start. Under this system we have been verbally, emotional, and very slight physical abuse.

The verbal abuse was from our father along with the physical. To be light on it, our father would yell at us many times a day. He is an angry man. Physically he would take out each and drag us into our room. He would throw us into our room and grounded us. In recent years (above the age of 12?) he has stopped doing this. He occasionally scares us into that state.

Emotional abuse mainly came from our grandma. She would frequently tell us about how we never loved her in her first place. She would purposely scare us into staying with her, making the outside world appear terrifying. While there is truth to this, we went as far as to not trust anyone for years. She would use crying as a weapon and ourself getting extra food as well.

We've been groomed online and expose to sexual content. We really don't want to talk about this part. We only recently learned about this through protectors. It's been worse due to us learning a pillar of ours was terrible for us. We've relapsed into it, and are slowing healing.

Most of this happened under the age of 8 (besides online grooming that happened when we were older)

some alters hold trauma/memories that they didn’t exist to experience / didn’t front during.

some alters have amnesia for moments they were there for.

like that’s really common. you have a dissociative disorder. you aren’t faking if you remember something you didn’t front for and you aren’t faking if you forgot something that you yourself literally did. our brains are trying to protect us. sometimes it does a good job with the amnesia thing and often times it doesn’t. there’s no real way to make amnesia convenient. like a lot of systems only get amnesia from switches, but a lot of us forget the day prior even if no switch occurred.

and although this post is about amnesiac systems, you’re valid if you don’t have amnesia either, or not very much. everyone is different. every system is different.
