Luffy really hasn’t changed at all from when they were little. Sabo reaches up to trace fingers against his only visible scar and smiles. It wasn’t exactly what had been said, what Luffy guesses, but it was definitely implied. What he really wanted right now was just to forget about it.

As his brother talks, Sabo takes to leaning against the large window in his room. The transponder is held almost fondly, which the snail probably appreciates– they all know what he can do with his hands. Blue eyes watch the stars above and Sabo only vaguely wonders if they’re looking at the same ones.

“You know I’d like to see you wrestle an octopus. They’re pretty tasty though, I hope you got to keep it.” There’s a soft laugh from Sabo’s end of the line. Obviously, Luffy has done well to cheer the blonde back up. “I’ve been busy, as always. There’s wars and fights going on every day but.. it’s what needs to be done. I went to liberate a captured village only a few days ago..” It had been a long mission actually, if only for the preparation. He’d gone in alone, as he often likes to do, and took care of the whole place in just a day. People that had been in power were often corrupt. What was that old saying?

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

That had certainly been the case with that small village and kingdom. At least they had their freedom now. He’d say they won but– there’s no winning in a war like this. Not really.

“I’d gotten lots of food as a thank you. They had dolphin meat. Did you know we could eat dolphins? They weren’t regular ones though they had to be ah– specially made?” Sabo gives a nervous laugh. He’s questioning his own phrasing but he doesn’t know how else to explain it to Luffy.

“Oh? That octopus? I got scolded for it since I nearly did fling into the ocean but luckily Sanji and Zoro stepped in and helped. We did get to cook it but they did say I shouldn’t be so reckless. There’s no way I was going to let that one get away though. It’s not too often we see one either.” 

Although there were a few annoyed grunts coming from the other side of the ship, at the very least Luffy wasn’t practically screaming over the transponder snail anymore, though his voice was still loud. 

“Dolphin meat?” Luffy had heard of such sea creatures, though he’s never recalled seeing one before. “I’m not even sure I’ve seen one before.. Do they taste good?” Talking about food had made Luffy hungry, but there almost never was a time when Luffy wasn’t thinking about food or wasn’t hungry. Especially when it came to meat. 

“I bet even if they aren’t that good Sanji could probably make it really great! If you ever get a chance you’d ought to try Sanji’s food! I think even the grossest foods you can think of he can make it into someone you’d like!” 

Now though Luffy’s stomach was rumbling almost as loud as his voice, making him pout. 

“I can’t eat until morning and Sanji keeps a padlock on the fridge at night.”

The coat fact was news to him and just thinking about why he’d print or have someone customize a jacket for him with his brother’s bullshit seat title on it was a weird concept for the blond to fathom.

Luffy talking about the day made him swallow harshly this secret would get him killed but if this man really was a holder of the secret name and as amazing as he was, that Law trusted he was able to do the impossible, then surly telling him wouldn’t be that problematic would it?

He pushed aside his own coat, and unbuttoned the front of hi clean shirt. This would have exposed a similar heart shaped tattoo over where his heart would be, or where a normal person’s organs would have been. His were on the other side and even he didn’t know this until the day he was shot and rendered unconscious.

“ Law, saw what happened. There is no faking that the man, whom was is my brother, by blood and not by honor, shot me in the area where your heart would be.” There was a spider like gunshot scar across his chest underneath the tattoo.

“ I made a promise the day I regained consciousness that  even if it killed me, I’d find  Law again. It just…. took me a long time to get better, hone my skills, become stronger and by the time I did, Law was a warlord and I couldn’t expose myself, if I did… I’m not some fanciful holder of the famed Willpower, I’m a fallen Celestial dragon a world noble. If I had exposed myself, I’d have been executed for treason among other things, and I’m not as strong as you or Law, I wouldn’t have been able to get away” The question about Law’s childhood sparked a soft but very booming chuckle from the taller man.

“Well he stabbed me in the chest twice, tried to blow me up, peed in my tea, unless that was Buffalo or Baby-5.” He doubted the latter because she was a girl and not a boy. “Although it could have also been apple juice or cyanide one of them. He was a very aggressive teenager, loved explosives and stabbing people. He of course had nothing to lose or so he thought. We’ve all lost dear ones to us, it’s just that when I met Law, he thought he was going to die and he was very sick. I just helped him gain his magic that way he could show the world just how amazing of a doctor he is. I knew he wasn’t a bad kid when I met him, he was just desperate and that was it.”

Luffy’s eyes wandered toward his chest, his eyebrows scrunching together at the sight. So he had definitely been shot like Law had mentioned, and though the would was most definitely fatal he had survived. Had he been shot on the other side or even both he would have been dead. But either way he was lucky to have survived the shot and felt happy for both this man and Law.

“I see..” Listening to his explanation had made a lot of sense, and he was sure that Law would also be understanding. He at least could confirm this man was no enemy to him or the Straw Hats and could be trusted without having to be suspicious. And though he’s only known him for maybe roughly ten minutes, he could tell this man was no liar and was being genuine about everything. He could see how Law was able to get along with him.

His remarks about Law’s childhood had surprised him. Though expecting to hear about him being rude sometimes, he had never thought Law would ever be that violent. 

“Stab? Blow up people?” Although learning that about him had made his expression soften, knowing he would do things that violent as a child meant he’s likely gone through a lot. He knew many people who would grow cold and distant due to things they’ve dealt with in their past and he didn’t know about anything he went through until he heard him mention a few things to Doflamingo. To think that he was so different back then compared to now surprised him. And he could tell this man was the one to have changed him and give him hope again. Based on what he said Law probably hated others for what they’ve done to him and maybe he was going down the wrong path, he just needed someone to take him to the right one again. And he respected him a lot for that. Not to mention he was grateful he saved his life as a child.

“He seems completely than how you described him when he was younger. You must have really had an impact on him.” 

A thoughtful smile spread across his face as he pondered about Law.

“He sometimes can be more distant or blunt, but you can tell he’s still really kind. And he’s caring too. I know because he talks about you a lot so you still mean a lot to him. And I know he trusts our crew a lot. I’m sure he cares a lot for his own crew too. So I think he’s a changed man because of you. Maybe my own crew has softened him just a little too.”

Sabo doesn’t care much if Luffy cries. He expected it even. Hell– he’d been crying himself a little bit ago and so much more before, when he’d first remembered everything. There’s a fondness on his face, watching the rubber boy dry his tears, and Sabo can’t help but smile.

“I know he missed me.” Regret tinges in his tone but that smile is still on his face. He’d been away from both of them for too long. Ace had been upset and Sabo couldn’t really blame him or fault him for that. They’d thought he was dead after all.

Luffy always seems to have a way of just brightening everything up though. It was like their little brother was practically a walking ray of hope.

“Garp did, huh? All good things I hope.” He’d never thought about it before, but that really did mean that Garp was Dragon’s father didn’t it? It’s odd to think about and Sabo wonders how they feel about each other. One is leading the revolution while the other is one of the marines best.

“You’re big brother’s number two in the army! I guess we’ve all found places in this world to belong. Do you think your grandfather would try and beat me up like when we were kids if I went to say hi to him?”

“Shishishi! I didn’t even know I had a father until he said so ! I still really don’t know much about him other than his name is Dragon. I’ve never even seen him before! So when he said he was in the same town as me and I apparently ran into him I was really surprised. I don’t know who there it could’ve been though. Apparently he’s a pretty big figure but I had no clue! I never even heard that name until Gramps mentioned it.” 

It had been a long while since, so Luffy could hardly remember anyone he had ran into, but he did believe eventually the two would unite. Though he did wonder what his father might have thought about him.

“Number two in the army ?? That means you must be right below my dad! That’s pretty impressive! I’m proud!” 

A big grin etched across his face. It was exciting news to hear how far his brother had come throughout the years, and for him to be one of the top in his army couldn’t make him more proud. 

“So I’m guessing you joined because of my dad right? Are you close with him? Has he ever talked about me?” He hadn’t wanted to bombard him with too many questions, but he hadn’t seen him in so long so wanted to know as much as he was able to at the moment to learn about him and to maybe take time to learn a little about his dad too.

“When I saw Gramps again I got punched and he went on about how he tried manning me up to grow up being a marine and all so I would think he’d beat the both of you and Ace up too.” He scratched his cheek. “I’ve ran into him more than once and I get beat up every time so I don’t think things have changed too much.”

this should be the last notice for being inactive so i’m sorry if it’s bothered anyone ! unfortunately something else made me feel even more unmotivated to be on here so i’m thinking of watching a movie or something and maybe looking at some of my favorite ships to make me feel a little better and i will likely return tonight or tomorrow night to get started back on here again ! i hope you’re all doing okay ! <3

i would probably say my height and weight, i wish i were small and petite, something more like maka or historia from soul eater and aot ;w; actually i would love to be short, i’m just average height and weight i think

and my face because i think i look like trash and instead of most people who look completely different from middle to high school i literally have the exact same face nothing has changed and i even showed my younger brother a middle and high school picture of me and he started cracking up because it’s trUE

so i’m usually mistaken for maybe 13-14 or the oldest 16 when i’m actually 19 fffffkfk

☤ - Have you ever had to go to the emergency room? Why?

hmm sort of, it wasn’t really an emergency room but more like a special sort of hospital for something i was sent to because of something a counselor saw at school while i was talking to her, so i think i was there for.. 8 days?

but i’ve never suffered from any major injuries i had to be sent to one for, i think the worse was when i was little and bumped my head on the bottom of the bleachers and my head started bleeding but they just put ice on my head, it was after my cheerleading thing since i used to do that when i was small but i can’t remember that too well ;w;
