[September 2364] Operation Glass Dragger: Y-42MUs and Y-42AUs were flying low and using terrain to mask their approach. Of the multiroles that were here, six were loaded for attacking port facilities as a part of Operation Glass Dragger. The other six carried more air to air weapons and flew in pairs to cover each sector of the strike package as they clocked closer to the target. 

"Gliders away, Shield One." 

"Roger, Shield One deploying weapons." 

Anti-ship and anti-structure weapons dropped and quickly zoomed ahead. They popped up into the air, turned on their own radars and selected targets to impact. Very little time was given before they began raining down on the port. Ships and buildings exploded- and then came the first of the gliders.

Dropped from orbit, each of the hypersonic gliders deployed counter measures, breaking through the wall of chaff prepared for them before firing their breaking jets and coming into a rough landing. Before anyone could react, their ramps dropped and M6 and M7 IFVs came driving out guns blazing. 84mm and 50mm cannon fire blasted through the port as the Y-42s broke off. These were replaced by their angrier Y-42M and F-72 friends.

Archien Forces tried to mount a defense, but this garrison was not expecting to catch the full brunt of the planetary commando forces. As quickly as the Free System forces arrived, a hasty counter attack was thrown together. Archien commanders dragged their levy troops and ordered them forward, attempting to figure out what sort of attack this was before they could beg for more forces. 

Instead of the commandos pulling back, the M6 and M7s moved rapidly- troops dismounting. Type 3 IFC and ISCs moved forward, dropping Xian and Tajan troops to join the Human and Larcien forces already fighting. 

"THESE AREN'T COMMANDOS, THIS IS THE INVASION FORCE!" One transmission said, being quickly intercepted by both Archien and Free System Intel. Broadcasted out in the open, this was not some Archien construct, it was likely some Archien levy trooper begging for help. 

The gliders continued to fall, following the 1st wave of the mech troops. These brought the rest of the first division to make the hop, their troops quickly spreading out beyond the port and right into the town that surrounded this area. The gamble had paid off, not every Archien Planet was defended by the best- and of those even more weren't equally able to defend without ownership of orbit.

Elsewhere, the Xian commander looked at his maps. The 6th Mechanized was in combat, and here he was driving up to the frontline for the 7th. Archien civilians looked on in awe or confusion as the Free System Forces moved rapidly throughout the city. The APC continued in the convoy. 

He watched the screen, Netcaster updating him with the locations of units and their missions ahead. He issued orders to move south, and clear up to a river before pausing for refueling and reloading. So far, they had only burned gas but he knew they'd have a fight trying to check anything crossing the river. Some of the artillery had landed, and now came fuel and food supply. Before he could think any further, a radio call for him pulled his attention away from the screen. 

"Sir, we have made it to the river in force. Two companies are digging in now, with the third coming up now. Light contacts, mostly unarmed civilians." His Senior Commander spoke.

"Mostly?" He asked to clarify. 

"Indeed, there were a few with rifles but none of them fired on us when we waved. If they're levy troops, they have no way to actually reach their command. If they're rebels, they've yet to tell us. For now, we're holding fast with the Type 3s and the Direct Combat Armored Platforms on watch. Light anti-air has shown up, and we're waiting on you and the supply now." The Senior Commander said, pausing for orders.

"Understood, sit tight. ETA's about 15 minutes and the fuel and ammo's just started landing. Keep things peaceful there. Mystic out." He ordered, switching the mic off only after he heard confirmation from his XO.
