Hi ugh, i just accidentally watch ep 13 & 14 of reply 1988 on TV and i am crying for real right now because of that pink shirt accident.

i really want junghwan to grabbed sooyeon’s hand when she gave him glares and dragged her to his room to show her the pink shirt “this is my shirt, hyung didn’t take it away from me nor i gave this shirt to him, your gift is still hanging in front of my bed, alright?!”

sooyeon would probably startled and she’d ask “why did you hang that shirt on your wall? are you not going to wear it?”

“Huh? well, cough, i didn’t notice you wear my gift either so why would i? and i have no formal occasion to wear this.”

Sooyeon would blush cutely, “Because Taek gave me the same one when i asked him to and it’d be very weird if i wore yours out of sudden?”

and then they’d agree on coming to another concert together just the two of them awkwardly, sunwoo and dongryong who’s still sitting at the living room would gave them weird glances but they’d brush it off after Sooyeon came out from his room thinking that they were talking about Lee Moonsae again.

this time Junghwan and Sooyeon called the occasion as a mutual date and they were very happy, they shared earphones together at the bus listening to english song.

my dear kim junghwan.

i’m here to rant. i can’t do this anymore, i’m so tired of feeling hurt whenever i remember junghwan. whenever i see taek/deoksun moments, whenever i see junghwan’s sullen face, whenever i see news talking about him, whenever reply 1988′s osts came out, every single things reminded me of him and every single times my heart hurt so much.

kim junghwan is like a rose. he’s so beautiful but i’m hurt whenever i touched him. i still want a proper ending for him, a really proper ending like taewoong and chilbong has. at least show me that he can love someone else beside deoksun and not throwing him out to sacheon because you need to make an ending for your ‘couples’. well, your clues scene is so fucking ugly mr.shin. i’d prefer your forrest gump scene where deoksun and junghwan missed each other’s timing.

everytime, i still catch myself plotting many possibilities for junghwan and deoksun. sometimes i smiled after but sometimes i cried too.

what if taek never told junghwan he liked deoksun in ep 10? junghwan would probably ask deoksun to see lee munsae together, right? they’d watch it on ep 13 and he probably wouldn’t hesitate to hold her hand when it’s cold outside (i know lee woojung love that kind of cheesy shit). dongryong would probably catch on them crushing each other in ep 11 when the three of them eat ramyun together. deoksun’s house collapsed and she would stay at junghwan’s for awhile, they would sit cloooose to each other like they always did while watching movies. deoksun would say goodnight to junghwan before she slept and the other way around. junghwan would tease deoksun to death when she left her clothes inside his bathroom. in the end junghwan would ask her out in his very awkward state at the stair after they watch lee munsae, deoksun would say yes and they live happily ever after. maybe they could fight and broke up too when junghwan had to leave to sacheon and deoksun’s very busy with her flight-attendant school. she’d tell us that another reason why she chose that job, beside her mother, was because she wanted to feel the air just like junghwan. they’d have their reunion in an airport and even kissed there. that’d make the clues more reasonable and no one (maybe a little of people) would say that this drama is unfair.

this thought was always going on and on, on my brain like there’s nothing to stop them. i tried to watch several dramas at times to distract myself but the thought of how unfair writer lee to junghwan was always triggered my emotions more.

why would the writer chose to make junghwan not the husband when he’s literally the closest family to deoksun’s. they literally live together and their parents always meet each other to chat. deoksun and junghwan argued about things everyday and they even sat very close to each other like there’re no rooms for anyone, she could trust her life to junghwan and vice-versa. but the writer made deoksun had to take care of taek for the rest of her life even without children like she’s his slave or something ; what kind of person who didn’t notice tears on her face and instead lean onto her selfishly? i don’t even want that kind of person come near me. she’s not a freaking pillow, she couldn’t bear his everything forever because she’s a human too! deoksun needs someone to take a great care of her too. a proper one, and i know exactly that guy wasn’t taek. but of course lee woojung had to really ruin it.

they gave too much hear-taking scenes to junghwan too and that’s why taek felt so plain to me. there’s nothing special on him EXCEPT for kings in crying, whining, being dumb, drinking drugs, smoking, lying, pretend he didn’t do anything, and baduk. his kindness is just so-so, he doesn’t give me any butterfly vibes, different from sunwoo who did everything beautifully for bora. there’s only one scene where i felt pity for him ; when he cried (again) with deoksun’s dad at the alley.

meanwhile with junghwan, he already caught my whole attention when he and deoksun bickered because she couldn’t hear anything from the tv in ep 1. he made me like him more and more in every each of episodes, he’s like an onion ; full of layers but of course he’s not empty inside because he’s ra miran’s daughter, he knows how to love properly (after she dumped him btw thanks deoksun).

i feel like junghwan and deoksun is the opposite of shiwon and yunjae. they’re the alternate ending of them, what would happen if shiwon didn’t run to catch yunjae after his goodbye confession? their fate would ended up like deoksun and junghwan. they barely knew each other after that confession because they rarely talk with each other but junghwan’s still close with taek, or in this case yunjae’s still close with his hyung, and the girl ended up marrying someone else. the boy let her go and attended their wedding--that’s what bothering me so much. i feel like writer lee wanted to improve herself from the last events by sacrificing junghwan.

reply 1994 end game couple : same with 1997, only the different is writer lee spend more times on this problem like dad againts their relationship because they’re already like family which is what’s lacking in 1997 because the father didn’t seems mind at all.

reply 1994 chilbong : he loves the female lead and didn’t think he would backing off just because she likes someone else which is lacking in 1997 because yunjae backed off right away after he knew his bro likes shiwon. many people fell in love with him instead of trash, in the end there’s a lot of protests to writer lee. in this drama chilbong’s the kind type of a guy.

reply 1988 end game couple : the reason why this couple is the end game because shin-pd and writer lee wanted to show the love of good men. which is what lacking in reply 1994 since trash is way too harsh and hard kind of guy (a manly man i loveeeeee) meanwhile chilbong is super nice. i suspect writer lee wanted to show what if chilbong turned out to be the husband through taek.

reply 1988 kim junghwan : he’s like the mixed guy of yunjae and chilbong. he’s as harsh as yunjae, as smart as yunjae, as rich as chilbong, as one-sided-love as chilbong. the way junghwan halted his move to pursue deoksun reminded us of when yunjae did the same ; their reasons were someone who’s very precious liked their crushes. the way his and yunjae’s confession are familiar, they did it to say goodbye while giving their girls a precious rings and doesn’t care about them after that...

that’s why i hate shin-pd and lee. this is my 2cets after all, i can talk whatever i want.

I think i know why Junghwan chose to stay at Sacheon for a long time. Beside the reason of working, i think he kinda reminded of Deoksun every single time he laid down on his bed back in Ssangmundong. I can’t even imagine to sleep on that bed anymore without reminiscing her scent or her adorable face when she slept (if i was Junghwan). No freaking way.

can you see the gaps between them? if you’re blind, here is my 2 cents ; idk why but hyeri and junyeol always sit too close with each other even they fought a lot in the drama, part of their bodies has to touch the other’s no matter what it is (talk about overflowing chemistry) but there’s always some distances she kept between her and bogum… even when they kissed, hyeri was always backing away from him, i think she did it unconciously because deoksun was supposed to love him? well except when she had to act mushy-mushy with him.
