I’m just gonna post about my adventure in Getting Ready To Play lol

I found one piece of cc that was making my game crash. Otherwise, I think I simply have too much CC. My computer is powerful…for its time. It was built in 2006 and has gone through various upgrades but the motherboard is old and so some things just aren’t able to be upgraded past a certain point unless I buy older components and rebuild (I’m limited to 8gb RAM for example). But the older hardware I think plays a big role in preventing pink soup so I think I’m just going to do a major cull and be ruthless and get rid of things that I think are gorgeous and lovely but I just don’t or won’t use. I’ll save them somewhere and maybe have another account or game that’s strictly for building and stuff but I’m going to purge!!!

I normally don't do this, but please do not download this CC pack. It not only has some of my default hairs which I explicitly asked people not to reupload, but entire 4t2 packs, clothes, mods and what look like bodyshop installations.

I've seen this before but not at this magnitude. I don't know which version of the hair defaults they nabbed, what mods they loaded...

Trying not to be a hater, but with no credit and potentially harmful concoctions of cc, I'd recommend to find the original sources which was predominantly items on LordCrumps.com, @deedee-sims, @mdpthatsme, @tvickiesims, @applewatersugar, @rascalcurious, etc

I miss playing the sims. I was having the hardest time getting it to work with my new setup. Same computer just different hard drive and OS. Crashing everywhere.

I have intended to troubleshoot some day soon when I have time but I accepted a job offer a couple of months ago and I’m busy busy. It’s an amazing opportunity for me; I love my field and I love my work and now I’m finally making plenty of money for myself and my son and putting money into repairs for my house.

Anyways. That’s just a short update from me. I am still lurking but I’ll be back soon.

Strangetown, but more

Once upon a time I started my legacy in Strangetown. Looking at every house and community lot in a row along the single highway was a little sad for me.

So I figure there should be some kind of little town nearby, mostly self-contained, but built up by the alien tourist industry. A few Sim City 4 tutorials later, I had Strangetown+. All of the original lots, except for the Smiths who I figured would enjoy being in town, are pretty much in place. But I have a nice little community that isn't along a major highway.

Speaking of that tourist industry, before you get to town, you'll run across the Last Stop Gas Station, Nowhere Diner, and the Strangetown Truth Tour (with gift shop).

This photo set also features one of the things that makes me sad about TS2: the neighborhood terrain doesn't pick up on the variations in the mountains in the distance. I was tired of looking at sand sand sand as far as the eye could see, but Strangetown isn't a grassy void, even though it sure looks like one here.

I built the Truth Tour a long time ago but went looking for some downloads for the gas station and diner. I was lucky to find the perfect diner by zaxis at MTS. Credit for the gas station goes to @fuzzyspork, who I was so sad to see had passed recently. I remember her very fondly from my days on the boolprop forum and will miss her humor and creativity.

Anyway, I'm hoping to keep sharing my neighborhood pics and some gameplay as I start going through my rotation again.

no shade to the teens and early twenties bloggers but it’s hard finding people within my age group that are active and continue to contribute here in the community. 

also idk if anyone else experiences this but sometimes it can be difficult relating to the younger population due to generational differences, pop culture, etc.
